My time is short. How shall I live?
Call to live expectantly, live faithfully , live accurately
Jesus Is Coming
6 And he said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.”
7 “And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me, 9 but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.”
10 And he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near. 11 Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.”
12 “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”
Time is short. Revelation is SOON
v.6 sent angel to SHOW what SOON must take place
v.7 Tada, I am coming SOON…keep the words of this prophesy
v.10 the time is NEAR
let evildoer STILL do evil
filthy STILL be filthy
righteous STILL do right
holy STILL be holy
v. 12 behold, I am coming SOON. Bringing my repayment for actions
v. 13 I am the alpha, omega, first and last, beginning and end
no matter when you read this, or listen to this podcast, YOUR TIME IS SHORT
YOUR REVELATION Time is SHORT************
The clock set. To you,it is short. My time is short. My “death” is soon
God will be sovereign in the carryings on of the
evil, the filthy, the righteous and the holy.
God is not mocked. He’s bringing a timely end to time
Use your remaining time wisely
Heaven lasts forever
Choices don’t last forever Hebrews 9:27
27 And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,
The theological things that are sequentially to take place:
Rapture, the trib, the second coming, the millennium, the judgements
And the last page where time stops/changes/resets/ ceases to be used as we understand it
We have a defined and certain and short UNIT OF TIME to respond to the truths of revelation BEFORE time as a unit becomes obsolete.************

OOPS I misworshiopped. Angel: oops you misworshipped
John is not an idiot yet he falls down.
Even John no fool—knew Even the angel seemed worthy
Most spiritually attuned person on the planet at the time
Seen Jesus , disciple, at cross, took care of Mary, faithful
How glorious God is. Even his helpers are so glorious that John trips
I think the angel would be of less-gloriousness in COMPARISON
The day when angels seemed glorious enough
Reflect, contain the glory of the maker
John mis-worships.
Reoritent. Just like John. He’s not the first person to misworship. It’s not the first time he’s misworshipped. So…he stops and starts aright.
We are going to a place, where even the HELPERS are glorious and seem worthy of worship.*************
What kind of a place is this?
KEEP THE WORDS
To cause to continue: continue in the knowledge this is really going to happen
Guard over the truth of these words
Make a fortress around what this prophesy calls us to
Today: live like the time is short
Keep watch over the actions and attitutes the words inspire
Protect the truths in my heart first—the great battle
Then take these truths to the world –another great battle.
Preserve, honor this revelation where the rubber meets the road
In my heart, my head, my mouth, my actions
Are they TRUE, are they TRUSTWORTHY,can I depend on them? Are they reliable, put my weight on them. If so, then put your weight on them.
v.10Angel describes himself as one who KEEPS THE WORD: finds them trustworthy and true and obeys them faithfully
v.6 BLESSED is the one who KEEPS the words of the prophesy of this book
Don’t seal up: get these words OUT THERE. So people can respond to them.
Challenge respond correctly: true, trustworth, worth keeping, worth worshipping the God who wrote them and the reality that they represent
Conclusions
My time is short. My time is short. My time is short
How best to use your short remaining time.
Use your free will, in the segment of time left, to freely give: assent, loyalty, imperfections with an eye to correction. Deeds and thoughts. Live righteous. Live holy.
If you worship the wrong thing, reset with John. Oops. Devote more accurately.
My time is short. How shall I live?
One charge today is to KEEP THE WORDS of this prophesy
Let us bind ourselves to the truth of it first
Let us let it affect every part of our lives, our Sundays, our relationshiops, our money, our devotion to Him
Keep the word: trust it. Believe in it’s truth. Rely on it. Guard it.
