8:20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And when the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done. 22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”

Tension : every intent only ever evil and Pleasing. Judgment eye. Grace eye.
Able brought first born and blood
Pleased the Lord

Cain sacrifices: grain and a bad attitude
Most beautifully receives the Lords correction
You can do better, here’s how, if you do all is well

I think it is clear in the scriptures as to WHAT PLEASES GOD
Anyone who says I don’t know what to do to please God
Or, I have a way to please God outside His moral decrees
Does not look at His Word with a sincere heart
I don’t think they are telling the truth,
Either because they don’t know it, or want to know it
Shoot for PLEASING AROMA
How can I really really really please you: thoughts, actions, generosity, service, comfort, study, faithfulness, keeping covenant, praise, obedience
God CAN be pleased—and YOU can do it, today. By body and mind
Covenant
God closes a deal. Signs an agreement. Makes a promise.
Makes a GOD PROMISE: 100% reliable, 100%true.
What is Man’s part?—just nothing

This one is: “I WILL…”—here is DIVINE RESOLVE******** we’d betterhave it…
KNOWING: the intention of man’s heart is evil
“Every intent only ever evil”
His knowing this, just makes His covenant sweeter
I know you. I know you are not perfect. I know you are kind of pathetic. I know you need help. YET, here I am. And here I’ll stay.
Content of the promise
I will never again destroy the world, destroy living creatures with a flood again. Never again like this. One big flood and done.
Is 54: 9 “This is like the days of Noah to me:
as I swore that the waters of Noah
should no more go over the earth,
HOW LONG? “While the earth remains.’ Consumed by fire. Between this day and that day. No floods until the world is consumed by fire. 2 PETER3: 7 But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.
NO ultimate destructions until THAT DAY. Day of judgment.

Let’s know there is no further blood sacrifice than Jesus

Admire appreciate God for His covenant with us knuckleheads
