Male patients are an awesome group to work with and chronically underserved by our system.  But there's also a lot of concerns and misinformation about working with men.

We go through the five most common questions we get about treating male patients!

With how pelvic health education has been structured, many of us don't get training in treating male patients or rectal treatment immediately.  For some it might be months or years before we are able to add these important skills to our practice.

This leads to fewer of us treating male patients.

So in this 'sode we go through questions like "do I need to treat male patients" (TL;DR - Absolutely not, you don't have to treat any population you would prefer not to), "do I need to do rectal to treat male patients (if not, you're missing a big part of the picture), and how to set boundaries with your male patients.

Check it out!  And if you're on the fence about treating male patients feel free to reach out to us or find mentorship with another pelvic therapist who does!

Through Pelvic PT Rising, Nicole has created clinical courses (www.pelvicptrising.com/clinical) to help pelvic health providers gain confidence in their skills and provide frameworks to get better patient outcomes.  Together, Jesse and Nicole have helped 500+ pelvic practices start and grow through the Pelvic PT Rising Business Programs (www.pelvicptrising.com/business) to build a practice that works for them!
