Designed by long time resident Donald Ginter, the seal is a view of the town as seen through a rifle scope. Lyman Gunsight Co. began in the town in the late 19th century. The crosshairs divide the seal into four quadrants representing different aspects of the town. The seal features saltbox homes, orchards, outdoor activities, and "the old pistol shop."
