#061: In this episode of Beyond the Culture, Dr. David M. Walker speaks with Eugene Marshall. 

Eugene Marshall is the Director of Athletics at Hampton University

He’s had an accomplished career of over 37 years as a head coach and Athletics director. Making such notable stops at United States Military Academy (West Point), Iona College and Queens College in New York.

Gene is in his eighth year as AD at Hampton U.
A graduate of Northeastern University

He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration. He later completed his master’s degree in sports leadership.

While an undergraduate at Northeastern, Gene was a member of the Huskies' men's basketball team under former UConn head coach and Basketball Hall of Famer Jim Calhoun.

 ·    Gene talks about how he challenged Black cultural traditions by moving Hampton U. out of its historically Black athletic conference to a predominantly white conference
