Beyond the Launch

Overcoming Launch Resistance: Scaling Your Business Without Burnout

Chelsea Wallace

Is fear of burnout holding you back from relaunching your profitable offers? Join me, Chelsea, the Launch Copy Coach, as we dissect the common struggles entrepreneurs face when managing multiple roles—from copywriting to strategizing—that drain their energy and steal joy from their personal life. We’ll address the common resistance to relaunching offers, especially among high-level coaches and course creators. I’ll unfold the real reasons behind the resistance to relaunching, highlighting the overwhelming number of roles entrepreneurs take on during launches, and emphasizing the need to delegate. Let’s dive in.

01:43 The Resistance to Relaunching

03:44 The Consequences of Wearing Too Many Hats

15:10 The Solution: Delegate and Thrive

Speaker 1:

Welcome back to another episode, y'all. Today I wanted to call out something that I am seeing, that I have talked about with a few different seven-figure coaches and course creators the resistance to launching. There is a resistance that some of us might be feeling and I wanted to talk about the real reason behind that today and why it's crucial for us to face and move through that resistance, to get beyond that in order to relaunch our offers. And the real reason why because the truth of the matter is the reason why you think you're resisting relaunching your offer is probably not the actual reason, so I wanted to dive into it for us today. If this is the first time that you are hearing me, welcome.

Speaker 1:

I'm Chelsea, the Launch Copy Coach, and I am my client's full-service launch marketing team. They come to me when they are ready to go beyond the revenue numbers that they have seen before in their launches. They're ready to hit their first six-figure launch, their first six-figure month, really create some significant results beyond what they've been able to do themselves. But they don't want those results to require all of their energy and all of their time. I work with them so that they only have one thing on their to-do list taking care of themselves and showing up for their people. They get to engage with their community. They get to be creative for their community. They get to support their community Me and my team we do everything else so they don't have to worry and be in the weeds with Canva and Zapier and all the tech and the emails and all these things. I often see this happening with my clients when they come to me. I've spoken to a few other coaches and they're seeing this with their clients as well. There is this idea that I am actually delaying the relaunch of my highly profitable and significantly revenue boosting offer because I know that it's going to require a lot more from me. I'm delaying selling because I know the stress that comes with that. I'm delaying relaunching because I know the overwhelm that comes with that and I don't wanna sign up for that right now.

Speaker 1:

There is this idea and this reality for some of us. As seven figure coaches, course creators, we've had highly successful launches in the past. We've created the results. We know the level of energy that's required to create those results. We know the level of stress. We know the level of screen time. We know the level of being away from our family and friends and loved ones and we're just like, uh yeah, I don't really want to, I'm not signing up for that. We know we should be selling, we know we should be launching, but we ain't doing it.

Speaker 1:

If that's you, I want to let you know that. I see you. Hey there, welcome. You are not alone.

Speaker 1:

Listen, this is not a seven-figure coach problem. I also want to say this this is not a seven-figure level business problem, because those of us at six figures, five figures, no figures who've launched something before and know what it takes to launch something, we're all out here like, yee, do I really wanna relaunch this? It's not a unique problem, but it becomes a high stakes problem at the seven figure level because the offer that you are delaying relaunching, the offer you are delaying selling, brings in over 30 to 40 to maybe even 50%, because the offer that you are delaying relaunching, the offer you are delaying selling, brings in over 30 to 40 to maybe even 50% of your revenue every year. So you know that, technically speaking, you should not be delaying relaunching this offer, but you don't want it to require that much from you anymore. I just want to let you know. I see you. Welcome to the club. You're not alone and I want to illuminate something for you, because the truth of the matter is you might not realize that it's costing you this much energy, time, creative capacity, time away from the things and people that matter the most to you, time away from the pursuits that you want to go after. You might not realize that it's costing you those things for one specific reason, and that reason is you are playing multiple roles that you never even realized that you signed up to play.

Speaker 1:

You are functioning at a very high level in multiple roles. So when we're solopreneurs, first starting out, we have to wear all the hats. It's fine, but that can only go on for so long and we cannot function at a high level in all of those roles and all of those capacities. So the drain and the demand on you gets even higher as you create more revenue. The business demands that you function at a much higher capacity in all of these roles. You are only one human being.

Speaker 1:

You cannot function at a high level in all of the roles that you have signed up to function in. And, yes, usually the clients who come to me and maybe you have one VA, an OBM, like one or two regular contractors that might be helping them in the business Maybe they're helping them with podcast management or helping them with customer service requests but the truth of the matter is, when it comes to launching, you are wearing way more hats than you should be wearing and even realize you're wearing on a day to day basis, and it clearly explains why you are unable to wear the other hats in your life that you want to wear. You want to wear the hat of mom, of partner, of adventurer, of sister, of friend. You don't have the time or capacity to wear those hats Because you, over here, are wearing the hat of launch strategist, messaging strategist, launch manager and project manager, hr specialist and team manager, launch copywriter, email copywriter, social media copywriter, ads copywriter and I haven't even gone on the entire list. Fam, you're over here wearing all of these hats functioning at such a high level. As a matter of fact, let me tell you the rest of them, because I have them written down. I got notes. Okay, let me walk you through the rest of them.

Speaker 1:

Sales page copywriter Okay, so we just listed all the copywriter kind of sectors and fields. Now we're going into things. Like many chat experts. You're the one who is in many chat, trying to set up all these automations and make sure the triggers work properly and make sure everything talks to Zapier, which then talks to your email platform. You're the funnel designer, creating all of the landing pages, making sure all the tech talks to one another. You're creating the graphics for the landing pages. Not to mention, you are coordinating all of this within your generalized marketing efforts. You know your regular newsletter, your regular social media posts, making sure that all of this aligns and your messaging is actually the same and cohesive across all of the platforms. Not to mention, let's also talk about client delivery and operations in your business. You know talking to your accountant bookkeeping If you've got an evergreen funnel, imagine like talking to the ads team and making sure that's taken care of showing up for all of your clients.

Speaker 1:

Fam. When I tally the hours that it actually takes to do all of this, it's over 300 hours, no wonder. And I haven't even talked about the energy toll. I haven't even talked about how much it actually costs your business. But no wonder you are drained. No wonder you don't want to relaunch again. You ain't trying to play all those roles for two months straight, three months straight, listen, even if it takes a month for you to launch. I have had clients and I've said this before I've had clients who literally didn't leave their house for a whole month. They got their groceries delivered, their poor pet didn't even get to take a walk outside because they were like this to their screens the whole time Barely any sleep, not eating well, not seeing anybody who means anything to them, and guess what? They for sure were ill and bedridden after that launch. Don't ask me how they even conceived of delivering the offer after they launched it, because they didn't have no energy to show up and deliver no offer.

Speaker 1:

It's a lot y'all. You're wearing too many hats. It's too much for one person at the level at which you are now at. So you now have to ask yourself the question do I want to continue to play all of those roles? Do I want to continue to wear all those hats? Is this cost, am I willing to pay it, to create a launch that is higher revenue than I've ever created before?

Speaker 1:

We know you are not. We know you're not willing to pay this cost because you've been delaying relaunching this thing. So we already know you're not. We know you're not willing to pay this cost because you've been delaying relaunching this thing. So we already know you're not willing to pay this cost, right, and as a matter of fact, let me take a second and just break down the cost and the consequences for you, because the truth of the matter is there are consequences that you are not even realizing that your business is experiencing right now. There are consequences to you wearing all those hats and trying to function at this high level.

Speaker 1:

Consequence number one your client delivery is more than likely suffering. There are things you've been wanting to do, things you've been wanting to make resources, you've been wanting to add, things you've been wanting to test out with your clients and you best believe all of the creative energy that would go into that is now going into your launch. So your client delivery is not as optimized as it could be and you're at risk of compromising the results that your clients are able to achieve. You don't have the energy to optimize the client delivery that you should be optimizing, which is your role as the coach, as the course creator, as the mentor, the educator. That's one thing that could be suffering for you.

Speaker 1:

Another thing that could be suffering in your business, as you try to wear all of these hats while you are launching is, you could be missing out on some significant business growth opportunities. Specifically, too, I want to highlight for you, first things first, there are offers other offers than your core ones in your business that you could be relaunching refining messaging for, refining launch strategy, for tweaking that you're currently not doing right now. Those offers could be bringing in even more revenue than they're bringing in right now. You could be analyzing data and making certain assessments about those offers, but you don't got the time to do that, you ain't got the energy to do that. You ain't got the energy to do that. You tired, fam, you wearing all of the hats, so you don't have the creative energy and capacity, mental capacity, even time to sit down and start to think about where you can optimize the revenue from your current offer suite. Huge red flag right.

Speaker 1:

Another business growth opportunity that you might be missing out on is serving your clients at a higher level, because the truth of the matter is that if you have come into this business, if you've been in this business for a long while, you've hit seven figures you've had clients that have been with you from. They were like brand new, they were just starting out with you, right? They have come up through all of the evolutions of your offer suite and now they are at the level where they are solving more sophisticated problems than you started out solving when you first got started. But you have not been able to connect with them. And these have been your clients yes, these have been your clients up until this point, but you have not been able to connect with them. You have not been able to brainstorm with them. You've not been able to connect with them. You have not been able to brainstorm with them. You've not been able to figure out or create new ways of serving them, because you overhear wearing all the hats in your launch, trying to wear all the hats and not succeeding, by the way, because you delay in relaunching anyway.

Speaker 1:

But something's got to change with that. You can't afford to miss out on those opportunities. I had a client who she was wanting to do more VIP days and in-person retreats and she would never have been able to do those if I didn't step in and do the rest of the launch stuff for her, so that she had the mental creative capacity, she had the time to actually create offers for those clients, to connect with them and say, hey, what are you needing right now? How can I support you? What questions do you have? What are you struggling with in your business? If you're wearing all these hats in your launch, you don't actually have the time, the space, the energy, the capacity to show up for those higher level clients and, quite frankly, you're missing out on fun. Okay, because I know how fun it is to serve those higher level clients. You're missing out on that and that's okay if that's what you sign up for, but if you actually don't want to miss out on those things, something needs to change here.

Speaker 1:

You are also very likely missing out on opportunities to grow your visibility and grow your brand authority in your niche, because the truth of the matter is when you hit this level in your business you Because the truth of the matter is when you hit this level in your business you are now at a stage where your name is recognized. Your name is recognized in your niche. People know you and enough people know you that you should be building really significant brand authority. You should be going after collaborations, getting really visible, being known even further than your current niche, and in some of the higher levels of this business and this industry, you should be more known than you are, and what's making it even worse is that you're probably experiencing a little bit of people copycatting your stuff, trying to steal your courses, your freebies, your IP, and you know that that level of copycatting is now requiring you to innovate a lot more. It's now requiring you to stand above the noise right. So you're actually being called higher in terms of brand authority and in terms of visibility, but you don't got the energy, time, mental or creative capacity to do that. Now you tell me, can your brand afford that? Can your business afford that?

Speaker 1:

So you are delaying relaunching, you're resisting relaunching because of the fact that you're wearing all of these hats that you don't even realize you're wearing and it's draining you so much in a way that's actually causing you to miss out on so many experiences in your business, miss out on a higher level of growth than you've ever experienced before. Not to mention the fourth way that you kind of face the consequences the really harsh consequences of wearing all these hats in your launches is you don't get to actually live and enjoy your life, fam, your life, the fullness, the richness, the enjoyment of your life, the travel you want to do, the family you want to start the partner. You want to cultivate relationships with the friends. You want to have spontaneous brunch time with the people who mean the most to you, the experiences that fill you up. You don't have the time to go after and enjoy those things because you out here wearing all of the hats in your lounge. It's costing you a lot. It's costing you a lot and you know what it requires, at the very least, from you on a day-to-day basis.

Speaker 1:

So you are resisting relaunching because you don't want to experience that drain, you don't want to experience that demand. And the real reason behind that is you're wearing too many hats, you're functioning in too many roles at too high a level and you were never supposed to do that. You're only too many hats. You're functioning in too many roles at too high a level and you were never supposed to do that. You're only one human being. You're only one human being who are never supposed to function in that way.

Speaker 1:

You've reached a level at this point that you cannot now sustain functioning in all of those roles at the high level that the launch results that you want would demand. So here's what I need you to do I need you to recognize and accept that all of those roles are no longer yours to play. All of those hats are no longer yours to wear. You don't have to be the person functioning in all of those roles for your upcoming launch to create significant results. Yeah, I need you to understand that. I need you to accept and receive that. I need you to give yourself permission to take the hats off. Take them all off your head. You have them stacked up to yay high. Just take them off one by one. They're not yours to wear. You don't need to wear them at this level of your business anymore, especially because of the level of launch results that you want to see, especially because of where your business and your brand are going.

Speaker 1:

I want you to begin to wrap your brain around the possibility of a launch where you get more revenue from that launch without it requiring more from you to deliver. It's requiring more, but you don't have to be the person to show up and give that more in order to create that higher level result, that first six-figure launch, that first six-figure month. You don't have to give everything that the launch requires in order to create those results. Other people can give that for you. Other people can meet that demand. I want you to start to wrap your brain around the possibility of a launch not requiring that much from you, because it is real, it is possible for you. You're at the level in business now, but you can start to think about these things.

Speaker 1:

I want you to recognize that it's time for you to become the talent of your launch and stop being the technician, because all of the roles that we have highlighted here today, all the hats that we've been talking about you wearing, that's bottom line technician role. You are functioning as a technician in your business. Right, the technician is the person who does all the things, who's deep in the weeds, whose hands are in all of the stuff. Right, you don't have to be the technician anymore. You are at a level of business and you are at a level of relaunching your offers, where you get to be the talent, where your only role can be, and gets to be, taking care of you and showing up for your people, and somebody else can be the technician for you.

Speaker 1:

I need you to start to wrap your brain around. It's possible for me to delegate at a higher strategic level than I have before and get better results than I've ever seen before. That might be hard to believe, but if you want proof, fab, I'll show up DM me, let's talk about it. I'll let you know, because this is exactly what my clients start to wrap their brain around, and it's why they choose to work with me. It's because they realize I want more. I don't want to have to give more to get the more that I want, and so I need to reduce the roles I'm playing and have somebody else step in and play those roles, which requires a higher level of strategic delegation that I have never engaged in and experienced, which requires a higher level of strategic delegation that I have never engaged in and experienced.

Speaker 1:

But I need to find a partner who will step in and help me with that and in that way, this is what I want you to see is possible for you. It's real. Y'all my clients do this with me every day, and I'm not saying you have to work with me to experience this, but I am saying you are at the point in your business where this is possible for you, but you don't have to resist relaunching anymore, because you actually have the support you need. You're not playing all the roles. You're the talent of your launch. You have a team behind you, that's the technician and you're just cruising. You're enjoying your life, you're enjoying your business. You're showing up for your people. You are the talent. That's what we want to create in your upcoming relaunch. All right, you are the talent. That's what we want to create in your upcoming relaunch, all right.

Speaker 1:

So, if you're thinking about this, if you've got questions, I invite you to DM me.

Speaker 1:

Let's talk it through. Let's start to brainstorm what could be possible for you and where you might go as you're thinking about relaunching your offer, how you might step into that role of being the talent, how you might engage a higher level of strategic delegation and how you might create so much more from your launches than you've ever created before. All right, y'all, like I said, reach out to me if you want to talk this through, if you have any questions. I'm not here to sell you into my offer. I'm here to help you make the best decision for you, for your business, for your launches, because I only work with a very specific kind of client and I'll tell you more about who I work with at another time, but that requires certain things. But I have a plethora of people that can help you, that can step in and help you and be the technician for you, so you get to be the talent. Really start to think about this. Reach out to me if you have questions, if you want to talk it through.
