Olympic Dreams - Kerenza Bryson

Nicki Bass Season 7 Episode 8

Kerenza Bryson is a professional athlete who represents Great Britain in the modern pentathlon - a sport including epee fencing, swimming, showjumping and a combined laser run (pistol shooting and cross country run). Having won gold, silver and bronze medals in the the World and European Championships, she recently competed at the Paris Olympics where she placed 9th in the final and in the semi final set a new Olympic record. Kerenza is also a qualified medical doctor and an Officer in the British Army Reserves.

In this episode, Kerenza delves into some of the less visible challenges and benefits of competing in elite sport whilst juggling her studies and military commitments. She also shares some of the magic of competing at the Olympics as well as how it has spurred her on in her ambitions. This episode is for those of you who - like me! - became an armchair Olympic expert, but also for anyone who has ever set an ambitious goal and overcome hurdles along the way to reaching it.
