The first full episode of season five features Swiss pianist and composer Nik Bartsch.
This was a fascinating interview, around Nik's playing and his new album - Entendre. I've selected two tracks to begin and end the podcast and I hope they give you a flavour of Nik's playing, which beautifully and profoundly confounds ideas of composition, interpretation and improvisation. Entendre is well worth a listen.
Thanks to Nik for allowing me to play extracts from the album alongside our conversation.

Don't forget the Quincy Jones quote that sums up why I do this: "Imagine what a harmonious world it would be if every single person, both young and old, shared a little of what he is good at doing."
