Here we are back again, everyone for spiritual tip number 12. Welcome back. 12, 12, 12, 12. I like 12 because one and two is a three and three to me is a very sacred number. Okay. Well, what number is that? What does it mean? Well, three is like, think of it like, you know, mind, body, spirit, you know, there's the, um, the, what is it? The religious thing is that bad? I'm losing what the religious Trinity, the Trinity, a lot of things come in threes, Tom, threes, a very sacred number. So I like three, so just thing.
Obviously, I'm not very religious. Hello. So welcome back. And you know, I really want to talk and share a little bit in this mini episode about how I've come across many people in my running through a lifetime and last, you know, decade or more around the spiritual part of who we are, who have said to me, yeah, I'm psychic, but I shut that down. Yikes. What the hell is that? I'm
And so, and this is, this is not just one person. I've heard this from many people. I shut that down because I was scared. I shut that down because I was seeing too much. I shut that down because, you know, other people, if they knew what I could see or experience, they would say weird things. get it. I did that when I was a kid. Yeah. I mean, I think a lot of us, you know, that have explored things probably have. I remember seeing lots of different energies in my room at night.
and various forms, you know, from spiritual entities. Now, I, and I kept telling myself, No, no, you're not real, you're not real. But it took some time not to see them. And so finally, I didn't see him. You know, I had an imaginary friend as a child. And I remember my grandfather would ask me, how's, how's your gogi was his name, you know, and how's gogi. And I would, you know, say, he's great, you know, this and
And my mom would help me look for him if he were playing hide and seek or something when I was like really little. And, as time went on, you know, there's this point where my grandfather said, you know, he's not real. You know that, don't you? And I was like, what? And, anyway, so, I wanted to please my grandfather and seem like I was cool and old as you, as you do when you're three or four. And, you know, I just, I kind of, you know, cut
seemed like I cut that connection. It's only later in life that I look back on and go, you know, I wonder if that was just all natural sensitivity. And as well, I don't wonder anymore. think it's all true. I might not have been very discerning about what I was picking up or what I was saying. But my God, you were three or four. But I certainly was open and you know, and it wasn't a negative thing. I mean, I didn't, I wasn't,
strange or crazy or anything like that. It just seemed like, you know, I was aware of those energies. So when I first started searching, you know, when I was a young man, I had read an article about, you know, psychic things and psychic experiences. And I wanted, I thought, geez, so many people seem to have these. I wonder if this is real. And I got really interested in it and started looking
at books to tell me how to do it. But I wanted to be psychic, you know, in other words, I wanted to have some of those experiences that people, you know, shared about. How old were you? Was like 18 or 19 or something 18. And anyway, so I went and I heard a talk where some presenters were talking about how we all have spiritual helpers or we call them angels back then
we all have four types of psychic perception, know, or for spiritual gifts, they've referred to them as and everybody was psychic, and you can make this practical, you know. And so, you know, I got involved and I started, they showed us some techniques where you start to experience it is the only thing I found that I could actually experience it everybody else, it was all theoretical. And, you know, there's some people that are naturally more sensitive than others. And they, you know, they're aware of these experiences earlier
But I actually realized now that I was always psychic, psychically aware, or, you know, had that sensitivity, that spiritual sensitivity. You know, psychic is just one way to describe it. But you know, knowing without knowing, how do you know that or seeing without seeing in your mind's eye of the situation or getting that gut feeling that's, know, when we all talk about a lot or hearing that still small voice within. So
To make a long story short, I suppose I'm coming back full circle and I'll say, yes, there was a time in my life as a young as a kid, you know, as a child that I shut that down. But I realized now I was always psychic. wasn't something it just I'm more aware of the impressions and you as you were sharing in a recent episode, you know, sometimes are very subtle. mean, it's just, we're so sensitive, we don't realize
sensitive we are. And how what I mean by that is if I get around someone, and they want things a certain way, it's funny how I am not consciously aware of it, but I end up giving them what they want from that, you know, because I, you know, I pick up on it. Yeah. And so my thought around this and around people saying, you know, I've shut that down is
Well, so like Tom saying, you know, he was always psychic and that's exactly what I feel when I hear that from someone that, well, you can say you're shutting it down and it, but it's always there. And that's why for myself and being a very sensitive person my whole life. And I remember when I too was real little, I remember being very scared. I, I, know, put the, I was with the covers of my head for years. And I think a lot of that too was fear from, was picking up in my family fear around cause we had
we in one of my houses when I was younger, we had ghosts. And so there was always this rigmarole around ghosts. literally, these these apparitions in our house were doing things. You know, one morning we woke up and we had old Victrola with all these records and there was water within each record. My mom saw it floating between the you know, between the rooms and it touched my brother on the face. And so there was always something going on. But
And so I was scared at that point. And I even saw little things in my room, probably like you did like energy or whatever. But so then going years back and then recognizing that, yeah, I wouldn't say I shut it down, but I was unaware. So my passion these days really is inspiring people to take the step into understanding more about that side of you.
whether or not you're religious or you're not or you're atheist or whatever, it doesn't matter what your belief systems are. You have this part within you. It's part of who you are. so being able to, you know, to not shut it down, like Tom saying, and we mentioned in a recent episode that, you know, it's a lot of these insights we receive hunches, insights and impressions are extremely subtle. They're so subtle that sometimes they pop in and, know, it's like a word or it's like
you know, like Tom being a thought, a vision, a knowing, a gut feeling. It's very, very subtle and doesn't have to be all mystical, magical, woo woo. Hit you over the head. Yeah, sometimes they do, but yeah, like the big time, right. But, but the everyday occurrences we have, and we have lots of them every single day, being open and exploring what that looks like for you, because it's individual and making it practical.
You know, so I don't become a victim to all this sensitivity, but I go, how do I wait a minute? How do I organize that? What's what am I picking up on? You know, for a business person, it might just be that flash of intuition, inspiration, or flasks. Yeah, flasks. That's your intuition. mean, but your inspiration out of nowhere. And you go, that'll work. Let me try that. Now I have the answer. And so lo and behold, it does.
And I think it also depends upon like, you know, where you're at in your journey, as to what you explore to actually embrace this. So for myself, when I started at 38, I went to massage therapy school. And that's when it really all just opened up. And I was exploring all kinds of healing modalities and Reiki and all kinds of energy things and playing with, you know, Tarot and trying to do mediumships. I was doing all kinds of stuff. But now I'm to a point where I guess because I've explored
so many things. If I look back, I'll say I explored D all the above that now I'm not interested in lot of those things because I've kind of moved beyond it. And I really just want to live life, have fun, explore, know, be present. I'm not much into all the other ways that I kind of, you know, they're explorations, but I kind of call them play. a lot of people delve and play in
And it's okay. It's you know, it's fine. Because again, I did too at certain points in my journey. But like Tom saying, it's really about for myself now really making it practical. And so that's why I really veer away from the woo woo, the mystical, the magical because even though there's a place for all that, there's also a place for let's just be damn practical with this. You know, life's too short not to be enthusiastic about your unique journey. I've heard that somewhere.
Yeah, I want to hide. There's plenty to be involved with. You know, what strikes me is the word ritual. You know, there's, that's none of what we share about, you know, being a soul being in your, your true feelings, being positive energy is new, or having, you know, spiritual helpers is what we call them now, you know, or, or angels or help from the other side, you know, that none of that is new.
or greater awareness or greater power. It's just that there's been rituals associated with it. And so, you know, you don't have to wear a fancy weird hat to, you know, turn on your psychic sensitivity or, or robes. And I, my theory is, is that people, you know, they, they see someone they admire or respect, or they, they see a spiritual equality in that person. That's kind of a spiritual quality that they,
know, look up to, or would like to have more of that, say, patience, or being a loving person, or being someone that guides folks rather than tells them what to do, you know, helps helps people unfold what they have inside. And if they happen to wear robes back in, you know, medieval times, that's how everybody dressed. Well, they get caught a little bit in the tradition in thinking that's what you have to wear to be closer to God is to wear this monk's robe
that sort of thing. So there's nothing wrong with that. You know, in fact, I've noticed it with mentors that I've had, you know, that address a certain way in the in the folks that have followed that mentor, you know, they, in fact, with even with the founder of the way shores college, the original founder was from Puerto Rico. So he wore a lot of those. What do you call those Spanish shirts? Puerto Rican shirts? There's a name. There's a special name for
for them. Yeah. And, you know, because that's where he was from. So he, you know, his casual shirts were smart, casual shirts for those a lot, a lot of the time were were those sorts of shirts. So some of us who really admire his qualities and, and, and wanted to be that positive and sensitive and clear and direct is he was, you know, we like to wear those shirts once in a while to remind us of him.
You can see how things get, you know, rituals get created. And you know, they're there, they're there just to help people get back into their feelings or remind them of a spiritual bigger picture. What happens so over time is the rituals can become just an intellectual exercise. So we're no longer tuning back into our feeling nature or that bigger one with all feeling of our true feelings we start, it's just something we do to perform.
to look like we fit in, you know, we're just doing it from an intellectual point of view, instead of from a true feeling point of view, there's nothing wrong with anything. It's all good. And if it works for you, do it. You know, if you, if you want to wear that, special shirt that helps you feel more relaxed and tune in great, know, whatever works. Right. And so I guess I want to end this with saying that
wherever you're at in your journey and also those around you. If there are anyone that you've heard this, you know that I, I'm not psychic and that's not part of me and I'm shutting it down. Just honor that, just honor where they're at. And you know, and they too will find their own way either into that realm or understanding of who they are, that spiritual part of their energy and their, their soul essence in a physical body or not. And because you know what, it's okay either way, right Tom? Yeah, it's okay.
you know, nobody really can shut it down because you're still going to get impressions. And, but you know, what you, what I hear they're really saying is, is I want to feel secure. I want to, I want to feel happy and free. I want to trust my impressions so that I'm not scared all the time. Right. So now that's a good reason to start. We'll start tuning into who you really are. That bigger picture.
And really, like I keep saying, the universe is a benevolent place. We have a lot of spiritual brothers and sisters that want to help us master the areas that we've come to master. There's a lot of love and, and backing out there for all of us. All we have to do is tune into it. Let's tune in. Let's tune in. Thanks for listening. Thanks everyone for
