Join us on this captivating episode of Makala Podcast, proudly brought to you by Hekima Counsel, as we delve into the inspiring story of Noni Masombuka, the visionary founder and CEO of Black Olive House. In August 2013, Black Olive House sprouted from the heart of a small apartment in Gordon's Bay, where Noni, a Flight Administrator at a private aviation company, noticed a gap in the market for exceptional catering services.
During her time in the aviation industry, Noni recognized the need for better in-flight dining experiences, leading her to craft exquisite executive lunch boxes for aircraft owners, their families, and chartered clients. However, Noni's entrepreneurial spirit didn't stop there. In 2014, she relocated to Johannesburg, where she continued her culinary journey while working as a Training Coordinator at Airtec.
For the better part of 2014 to 2016, Noni tirelessly explored the Johannesburg food market, honing her culinary skills and building a loyal clientele. The turning point came in September 2016 when Noni decided to follow her passion full-time, resulting in the establishment of Black Olive House's cooking studio in the vibrant district of Maboneng, Johannesburg.
Fast forward to today, Black Olive House has exceeded all expectations, serving over 155 clients and evolving into an exclusive, professional, and bespoke brand that caters to a niche market. With a dedicated team, they continue to push the boundaries of culinary excellence. Noni's commitment to pioneering the food culture and industry in South Africa shines through in their emphasis on fresh, quality, and healthy food.
