Make Your Wedding a Highlight

2020 Thank You's and Wedding Recap

DJ Josh Woeckener Season 1 Episode 27

The end of the year has always been a time for reflection for DJ Josh, owner of Highlight Weddings and Events. 2020 is no exception (even if it may not have been the best year in recent memory...) Be prepared for ALL THE GRATITUDE. Here's to a happy new year and a much better 2021 than the 2020 we've all had to endure.

DJ Josh Woeckener: [00:00:00]  This is episode 27 of Make Your Wedding a Highlight. My name is DJ Josh from Highlight Weddings and Events.

[00:00:09] Well, hello, everyone. Thanks again for checking out the podcast. This week, I wanted to do a special end-of-the-year edition of make your wedding a highlight. This year has been very weird to put it lightly. But as one of 2020's trending hashtags goes: #loveisnotcanceled. For me this time of year has always been a period to reflect back on the previous year and practice gratitude to appreciate the good that I've been able to experience.

[00:00:48] First off, a special thank you to everyone that has been a guest on Make Your Wedding a Highlight. I thought being able to have an episode for every week was a bit ambitious. But aside from a couple of weeks, I was able to release one episode each week since I started on June 13.

[00:01:05] Thank you for sharing a glimpse into the roles you play on the wedding event team, as well as providing insight to couples that are in the wedding planning process. I've personally appreciated getting to see behind the curtain, into the other team roles that make up the wedding event team. It's one thing to think you know all the inner workings of what goes on. But it's another to have it shared by someone who fills that role.

[00:01:28] Another thank you goes out to everyone that has listened to the podcast. My goal has always been to provide valuable content for you, the listener, and I hope I've succeeded in that. Make Your Wedding a Highlight has had over 600 downloads this year. I think that's pretty cool. I plan on continuing to record Make Your Wedding a Highlight into 2021. So if you have any feedback, shoot me an email at info@highlightweddingsandevents.com. I always welcome feedback and criticism because that's how I will get better.

[00:02:00]Speaking of feedback, I have review to a share. It's a five-star review from 4wildbabies. "Josh is a natural host. DJ Josh's conversations and interviews flow so naturally. The topics are very relevant to today's wedding industry for vendors and brides and grooms alike. This podcast is a great listen for anyone with a passion for events and those who are planning their own weddings."

[00:02:27] What a great review. Thanks for the kind words. If you've been listening to this podcast, it would mean the world to me. If you would leave review as well.

[00:02:35] Now, before I get to the 2020 wedding recap for Highlight Weddings and Events, Highlight Weddings and Events would not exist if it weren't for my wife, Rhoda. Because of that, Make Your Wedding a Highlight wouldn't either. She is the filter for all of my sometimes crazy ideas. She helps keep me grounded and focused and encourages me to do more than I have before. And to do it better than I thought possible. I have no idea where I would be at or what I would be doing without her. I love you babe.

[00:03:05]Now to 2020 weddings. I got the village to be a part of 16 wedding receptions this year. Thank you to all the couples that allowed me the opportunity to share in such a special day of your lives. I never lose the sight of the fact that I get to do something I enjoy. I hope that was evident for each of your weddings, and I hope each of your weddings was perfectly your own.

[00:03:28]Since I just started Highlight Weddings and Events in 2020, I would not have had the opportunity to be a part of all of those weddings without referrals from the following wedding professionals and companies. Shout out to my fellow wedding DJs: Scott Lasseter, AKA DJ 30A, Chris and Rachel Lauen from Ultimate Production Company, and DJ Dan Davis.

[00:03:51] Also thank yous are in order to some of the areas awesome wedding coordinators: Sherri Kuhn from Destin/30A To Wed, Avis Glenister from Peach and Pearl Events, Jamie  Cooper from Fancy Event, Holly Odom from Watercolor Resort, and Julie Fabozzi from SunQuest Beach Weddings.

[00:04:10] I would also be remiss for not recognizing that Highlight Weddings and Events is now a preferred vendor for The Henderson, The Emerald Grande, and Vue on 30A. Thank you for that honor. I don't take that privilege lightly.

[00:04:23] To the couple whose weddings I get to play a role in 2021, I can't wait to witness the celebration of your love for each other with touching moments, ecstatic guests, and just the amazing nature and vibe that weddings have.

[00:04:39] Wherever you are in the wedding planning process, if you haven't selected your wedding entertainment, I'd love the opportunity to see if I would be a good fit for your wedding event team. Shoot me an email at info@highlightweddingsandevents.com. So we can start the conversation. Here's to you as you're planning your wedding and here's to making that wedding a highlight.
