In this episode of Jobs with Jodi, we're joined by RPCV James Ham who discusses his diverse, global work experience with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Peace Corps in our Conversation with RPCV Leaders in Action. James is a staunch advocate of Peace Corps and a shining example of an effective Country Director in his current post in South Africa.  He speaks to his career of service both domestic and abroad, and his ascent from temporary Country Desk Assistant in PC HQ to overseas staff in numerous oversees posts--all within Africa-- including Country Director  in Uganda and, more recently, South Africa.

RPCV James Ham (South Africa 1996-98) is a seasoned public servant with 30 years of experience, in the sectors of public health, education, small enterprise development, and agriculture. He currently serves as Peace Corps Country Director in South Africa. Prior to this, he was Country Director for Peace Corps Uganda and he has left his mark by providing oversight in Peace Corps programs in Guinea, Ghana, Togo, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Benin, Gabon, Chad, and Burkina Faso. Above all, Mr. Ham is known for bringing his dedication to international volunteerism and his embodiment of core leadership principles.
