Coming Soon: Seedcast is Headed to U.N. Climate Talks in Egypt
Seedcast is headed to Egypt! Seedcast Producer Felipe Contreras and Executive Producer Tracy Rector share notes from the road (or, rather, the sky) on their way to COP27, the U.N. global climate talks happening in Sharm el-Sheikh. No Blue Zone or Green Zone passes here, but Felipe and Tracy will be showing up in solidarity with Indigenous leaders from around the world and hearing stories from the front lines of climate change. Indigenous land defenders and storytellers don’t make headlines enough at events like COP27 or the upcoming U.N. biodiversity talks in Montreal, unfortunately, but they are exactly the people who hold the knowledge we need to heal the world and the stories we center on Seedcast. Stay tuned for a whole episode filled with their stories later in November and more coverage in the coming months.
We want to hear your stories, too. What is at stake for YOU and YOUR communities in this moment of climate crisis, and what are you doing to fight for our future? Let us know by sending us an email at: seedcast@niatero.org

TRAILER
November 2, 2022
Felipe Contreras: Yo! It’s Felipe Contreras, producer and sometimes host of Seedcast. And I’m at the airport with our executive producer Tracy Rector.
Tracy Rector: Hey everyone! What’s happening? We’re so excited to fly across the Atlantic, land in Cairo, Egypt before heading over to Sharm el-Sheikh.
Felipe: It’s that time of the year again when world leaders get together to talk about climate and biodiversity. So there are two important meetings coming up. First up is in Sharm el-Sheikh, the COP27 climate talks in Egypt starting November 6. And then there’s Montreal. The UN biodiversity conference starting December 7. Tracy and I are headed to Sharm el-Sheikh right now.
Tracy: Yep, we’re gonna be on the front lines with many Indigenous leaders from around the world.
Felipe: People who don’t always get headline coverage at these events, unfortunately. But it’s up to us. And we are going to share their voices – with you.
Tracy: We don’t have Blue Zone or Green Zone badges either so we are showing up in solidarity. And we are going to bring you an episode in late November from this experience. We’re also recording interviews to share with you throughout the coming months. We’ll be on the ground in Sharm el-Sheikh for two weeks, showing up, hearing stories, witnessing and contributing to the conversations you want to hear.
Felipe: We have no zone passes and you have no zone passes so that’s why we’re calling you out! We want to hear your stories too. What’s at stake for your community and for you in this moment of climate crisis? And what are you doing to fight for our future? So let us know. Send us an email at Seedcast@NiaTero.org.

Felipe: And, oh, that’s us.
Tracy: Oh oh oh!
Felipe: We should get on the plane. Adios!
