Urolink - Interview with Ru MacDonagh
In this podcast, Nick Campain (Urolink Committee Member) interviews Ru MacDonagh (former Urolink Chair) about how he got involved with Urolink and the work he is doing with HIPZ to improve healthcare in Zanzibar.
If this has inspired you to get involved, why not consider applying for one of The Urology Foundation (TUF)/BAUS Fellowships. These have been created to enable senior trainees to experience working in Low or Low-Middle income (LMIC) environments. Each Fellowship attracts a £1,500 bursary towards the cost of travel, and a period of time in a Urolink recognised centre. In 2023 trainees would be involved with the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC), in Moshi Tanzania. Trainees who will have completed their FRCS Urol are the expected group to apply for these Fellowships which are supported by the SAC. Please note these awards are only open to UK-based trainees who are members of BAUS. A link to the application form for the Fellowships can be found by clicking here; the deadline for 2023 entries is 28 April 2023.
