Improve Your Relationships by Owning Your Words
Oct 17, 2020 Episode 11

The number one topic I coach on is relationships.    Mother-child relationships, marriages, and difficult relationships with bosses, colleagues, friends and extended family members.  Relationships are such a huge part of our emotional health.  Today's topic has to do with communication in relationships; learning to say what we mean and mean what we say.   We often think we are communicating clearly but we say one thing and mean another.  This causes all sorts of confusion, resentment and frustration.  There are a few simple changes we can make to communicate more clearly.

What you'll learn on the show:

  • Why sometimes we say one thing when we really mean another
  • What it means to own our words
  • How to own our words
  • How intercultural situations amplify the issue of miscommunication when we don't say what we mean
  • Learn the impact of not owning our words
