Throughout God’s love story to us, the Bible, there are many instances of hearing the sound of the Eternal God. Right back in the beginning, the Eternal God - Father, Son and Spirit, expressed their love in sound, sight, touch and taste.

With tenderness and intimacy, the Eternal God breathed His life into the first man. From the dust of the ground, man became a living being.

The Eternal God saw it was not good for man to be alone, so He created woman. In gentleness and precision the Eternal God touched the first man’s side. The woman was brought forth with the personal touch of the Eternal God.

The first man and woman experienced the taste of the Eternal God. For everything was perfect, good and pure. Without any toil the choicest of food was there for them to eat and experience. With the purest of waters to drink, as flowed freely from within the earth. Everything was very good.

The tree of life was also there. So together, the first man and woman could eat of it freely. They could hear the sound of the Eternal God walking in the garden in the cool of the day. Hear His voice and commune with Him for all eternity.

Yet they chose to be one with both good and evil, instead of only good. As a result death and evil, guilt and shame entered into God’s once perfect world.

Having eaten of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, instead of the tree of life, the first man and woman’s perceptions changed.

Now when they heard the sound of the love of the Eternal God, they ran and hid from His presence. They became consumed by their own selfish desires, guilt and shame. So from among the trees they hid.

Yet the sound of the Eternal God’s love for them never changed. He pursued them in love and intimately and personally covered their shame. So they could run to Him, instead of running away from Him.

The sound of the Eternal God’s love is heard throughout the ages. For it is the Eternal God’s desire for every individual to hear the sound of His love, calling them by name.

To run into His loving embrace and nestle into His chest. Where each one can hear His heartbeat of life everlasting and whispers of love never ending.

For the sound of the Eternal God never changes. He offers every individual an eternal covenant relationship. A relationship filled with His love and honour, equality and respect.

The Eternal God is intentional with His relationship with each individual. All through the pages of His love story the Bible, the Eternal God portrays His sound.

In the days of old, the Eternal God appeared to Moses intimately and personally in his tent. It was Moses’ nomadic tent that he pitched outside the camp of the rebellious Ancient Israelites.

Knowing the Eternal God’s heart, Moses called it the tabernacle of meeting. Tabernacle means habitation or dwelling and meeting is an appointed place, time and season. The Eternal God spoke to Moses as a man speaks to their closest friend. For the Eternal God shares His heart with all who will come to Him and commune with Him. He waits with open arms for us to hear His sound.

The sound of the Eternal God is unconditional love and life unending.

During a time when the people did not want to hear the sound of the Eternal One, He sent His prophets to speak for Him. One such prophet was Ezekiel.

The hand of the Eternal God came upon Ezekiel and brought him down into the midst of the valley. This particular valley was full of dry bones. These dry bones represented the Ancient Israelites and their spiritual condition. They had rejected the Eternal God and broken their covenant relationship with Him.

So the Eternal God said to Ezekiel, speak for me and say to the dry bones, ‘Surely I will cause breath to enter into you and you shall live.’ So Ezekiel did just that and heard the sound of the Eternal God’s breathe of life. The exact same sound as the Eternal God walking in the garden in the cool of the day. When He was pursing the first and and woman in love, as they ran and hid from Him.

The Eternal God through His prophet Ezekiel, promised He will pour out His sound of love and life into the hearts and minds of these people.

Centuries later, they heard the sound of the Eternal God. It was that day when Pentecost had fully come.

So let us go back to that time when the sound of heaven was heard as a mighty rushing wind.

Acts 2:1-6 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language.

Verses 11-12 Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.” So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?”

This event was a sign of the beginning of the Eternal God fulfilling His promise of renewal and new life to the Ancient Israelites. A promise the Eternal God gave through His prophet Ezekiel. It was a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind. The audible sound of the Eternal God filled the room.

Each one present was empowered to testify of the wonderful works of God in the heart language of the surrounding listeners. Those outside were amazed and marvelled. For this was a miracle not only of speech, but was an audible sound to the outside world.

The sound of the Eternal God is unconditional love and life unending. A covenant relationship rich in divine revelation.

This sign is evidence that Jesus is alive. Again the Eternal God - Father, Son and Spirit - are one. In Jesus’ human life, death, resurrection and ascension, He gives His Spirit. From the Father through the Son Jesus, He pours out His Spirit upon all flesh.

Jesus is enthroned as Lord and saviour of those gathered within the room. This is the church, where two or more are gathered in His name. Each one is a recipient of the sound of the Eternal God. A true witness of Jesus and a beautiful expression of the Eternal God.

The Eternal God continues His life giving mission, by His Spirit outpoured in and through every disciple of Jesus. This outpouring is a continual flow of the sound of heaven, since that day of Pentecost had fully come.

We are given the sound of the Eternal God, testifying of Him. To go deeper in this please listen to our jesus loves : the world podcast - The testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy

In the visions of heaven throughout God’s love story the Bible, the sound of the Eternal God reigns. His voice is like the sound of many waters. Again to Ezekiel, in the time of the Ancient Israelites’ rebellion, the sound of the Eternal God was heard. The sound of the voice of the Eternal God heard in the noise of the wings of the living creatures.

Ezekiel 1:22-24 The likeness of the firmament above the heads of the living creatures was like the color of an awesome crystal, stretched out over their heads. And under the firmament their wings spread out straight, one toward another. Each one had two which covered one side, and each one had two which covered the other side of the body. When they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of many waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a tumult like the noise of an army; and when they stood still, they let down their wings.

This is a beautiful picture of the sound of the Eternal God given to His people. The voice of the Eternal God is as the sound of many waters, together with the sound of a rushing, roaring army.

Centuries later the resurrected Jesus, the one who lives and was dead, who is alive forever more appeared to John, a disciple of Jesus. The sound of the Eternal God is heard. It is His  voice that is as the sound of many waters.

Revelation 1:12-17 Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters;

He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.

With the sound of many waters, the first and last, speaks, ‘Do not be afraid.’ Just like a cascading relentless waterfall after the rains. The water flows from the highest point, down to the lowest point. It flows as one, with every water particle fused together. With tremendous creative energy, the water flows over the rocks and obstacles, carving out a clear pathway.

Jesus’ sound is so powerful, no other other voice can be heard.

From the throne of God, the highest, purest place, He pours out His sound. Down to the dust and dirt of humanity. Pouring out to individuals, people groups and nations.

The Eternal God has been continually pouring out His sound to humanity’s lowest point of need. Giving His sound to all who are willing to receive Him.

The sound of the Eternal God is unconditional love and life unending. A covenant relationship rich in divine revelation.

Revelation 19:1 After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God!

Revelation 19:6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!

The sound of the Eternal God is the same sound as the multitude in heaven. The sound of many waters, each one as one sound, testifying of Him.

For the Eternal One, the supreme power and authority, rules and reigns. He has universal sovereignty. Everything in heaven and earth and under the earth has to bow. Evil has been judged and it will be totally eliminated.

Until then, the Eternal God tabernacles with us even more intimately and personally than with those who lived in the days of old. For this is the Eternal God’s appointed time where He makes His home, within every individual that has said yes to Jesus, yes to God.

With the sound of the Eternal God, we testify of Him.

Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.

Hear the sound. The sound of the Eternal God. His heartbeat for every individual, people group and nation. For all to know and experience Him, tabernacling that is dwelling together, for all eternity.

The sound of the Eternal God is unconditional love and life unending. A covenant relationship rich in divine revelation. Living in the freedom and victory of the Eternal God, forever and ever amen.
