Everyone has a story. Our story is the journey through this life. God places the highest value on each individual’s story. As each one’s individual life is part of His story. His story in our story and our story in His story. For this is the greatest story ever lived.
Since the beginning, the Eternal One is there. Father, Son and Spirit, one spirit, one God. The supreme being of one will, who has no need of anything. In a moment in the beginning He said, ‘let us make humanity’. Both male and female.
As God - Father, Son and Spirit looked through the eyes of eternity, He saw those who would reject His right to rule and reign. Yet He still chose to create.
As God - Father, Son and Spirit looked through the windows of time, He saw how humanity would give authority over to evil and their selfish desires. Effectively activating evil into the perfect world that God was about to create.
Yet God - Father, Son and Spirit, still chose to create humanity. Not only create humanity but give humanity His image and authority to choose to thrive and care for His perfect world. To have the ultimate blessing of an eternity together with their creator. Delighting in each other, in perfect harmony with both God and His creation.
However humanity chose to use their God given power for self and evil. As a result humanity became consumed by shame, blinded by pride and chose a pathway of self destruction.
But God in His great love still desired for humanity to be free. To choose to have an eternity of sweet communion together. So God personally and intimately stepped down from heaven and eternity into our darkness. He entered our finite world of time itself. To open the eyes of blind, to set the captives free with His truth.
For His testimony is true and His love is eternal.
Let us go to that moment in time when the Eternal One became one of us. The Son of God walked the earth as a man. To show humanity the enormous value that God places on our salvation. When the Father and Spirit testify of the Son. Even to those who will reject Him and His right to rule and reign, together as one, they testify. Jesus, the Son of God reveals the truth that will set humanity free. The sacrifice of Himself.
John 5:37-44 And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form. But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe. You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. “I do not receive honor from men. But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you. I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?
The Father and Spirit testify that Jesus is the one whom the Father has sent. Jesus is the one who testifies, demonstrates and is the embodiment of God Himself. The Son whom together with the Father and Spirit created.
God’s love for humanity and each individual is so great, that He even testifies to those who reject His right to rule and reign. God even laid down His eternal form for them in the Son of God becoming human.
In God’s selfless and pure love, He gives everyone the right to choose. To choose Him and accept His testimony which is true or choose to reject Him and eternal life.
In the love of God, Jesus continues to reveal the truth and the greatest true story ever lived.
Jesus states that the people before him search the scriptures, believing they have eternal life. Yet they reject the one in whom the scriptures’ reveal is the giver of life.
The scriptures from the first book of Genesis, through to the Revelation of Jesus testify. That God Father, Son and Spirit is the Eternal One, the creator God, the three in one who created.
God the Father, Son and Spirit, together spoke life into the void and filled the earth with all the living creatures. The living creatures of the air, the living creatures of the sea and the living creatures of the land, were not only given life, but also the ability to reproduce after their own kind. Everything was very good and eternal.
The same scriptures testify and confirm that Jesus is the Son who came in human form. He is the anointed one. The one whom the Spirit visibly rested upon His shoulders, just as was prophesied all those centuries before He came.
Even though humanity continues to give power to their selfish desires and evil. God in His great love continues to write His story deep in the heart of every individual who is willing. Everyone has a story that is intertwined with the creator of the heavens and earth and all things good. Even those who choose to reject Him. For He is the giver of eternal life itself and the Lord of everyones destiny. To reject Jesus is to reject God, reject truth and His life everlasting.
This is what Jesus said when confronted by Pilate as to whether He was the one.
John 18:37 Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”
Jesus stated to Pilate in a way that he could understand why He willingly came in human form. Why He experienced the full human condition. He was born, lived, died and rose again and now lives forever more. He came that He should bear witness to the truth and that everyone of the truth, hears His voice.
That is everyone who receives God and His true testimony becomes one with the divine. Having received Jesus, received God, we are one with the truth and bear witness of the truth. The truth is God Himself. For there is no evil, selfishness or deceptions in God. He is only good, selfless and true.
Jesus came in the grace and truth of God. From the very depths of the Father’s heart He came. For Jesus is the Son who together with the Father and Spirit are the very essence of life itself.
Having received God as His testimony, we receive His eternal life. For His selfless love is undeniable and His testimony is true.
1 John 5:9-13 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son. He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
The Apostle John reasons that given the acceptance of God’s testimony of His Son, then we too have the testimony. ‘And this is the testimony, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in the Son.’
The Apostle John’s eye witness account of Jesus’ time on earth is rich with revelation and transformation. At the beginning of this letter he testifies to what He heard, saw and touched.
1 John 1:1-4 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life— the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us— that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.
So together with all who have received Jesus, received God, we have fellowship with one another. Not only fellowship with one another but the highest honour of fellowship with God the Father and the Son. It is through the fellowship with the divine that we have His fellowship with one another. Fellowship being a sweet communion, joint participation and the testimony of Him.
His testimony is true. It is the fellowship between the divine and humanity. The fusion of the eternal with the finite.
The Father and Holy Spirit testify of the Son. The Son and Holy Spirit testify of the Father. Everyone who has said yes to Jesus, yes to God, has the Holy Spirit within. The spirit of the testimony of Jesus.
The Father, Son and Spirit, the three in one, the living God continues to give all of Himself to humanity.
In love and honour God is continually pouring out His Spirit. That is His spiritual rain upon all people. It is a daily journey with Him to live in the reality of who He is and all He has given of Himself. As we surrender our self will, to that of the divine will of God, we receive more of Him. More of His character, more of His truth, more of His testimony.
We together with the Father, Son and Spirit testify of who the supreme eternal one is and what He has done and what He will do. For His story is our story as our story is His story. He continues to write the greatest true story ever lived from generation to generation. In every people group and nation, He testifies and we bear witness. We are His letters of testimony.
Like those of the early church, having said yes to Jesus, yes to God we are the living letters of Jesus. Written not with the ink manufactured by humanity, but by the Spirit of the living God. From the depths of God’s great love, He is writing the greatest story ever lived in our hearts.
Each day is a new day for Him to go deeper and deeper into depths of the very essence of our being, emotionally, physically, mentally and yes spiritually.
The testimony of God is written by the Spirit of life itself. God is a relational being and writes intimately and personally in all who are willing.
For this is not only the greatest story ever lived, but the greatest miracle ever imagined. Where the eternal one dwells within our finite body, He brings not only the future hope of eternal life, but transforms and renews our character within. Only the creator God can give all this and do all this. For He is the living God, the eternal, self-existing one.
We are part of an eternal love story. An everlasting story, a true story. The final chapter of evil and humanity’s selfish desires has already been written. Together with the empires of humanity that rejected God and His testimony will be totally eliminated. There have no place, no power, no life.
Until then, as we live in this world damaged by evil, where evil and selfish desires are still given power by humanity, God continues to write His story in our story. So together with the Creator God and the cloud of witnesses throughout the ages, we testify of the greatest story ever lived, for all eternity.
Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
For this is the greatest true story ever lived! Praise His mighty name!
