Dr. Michael Lam:

The body is a miraculous machine that self regulates. And under normal circumstances, everybody feels good. If you don't even know your body exists, sometimes you cannot take it for granted. However, some people have strange sensations such as skin crawling, and what is it, you know, these are very kind of difficult conditions to look at closely because it's such a has such a vibrant variety of presentation. So they can include tingling, itching, numbness, crawling, and tickling. Okay, this is generally classified as paresthesia. And it's just annoying, and it's uncomfortable. But at times, it could be painful as well. And they can affect everywhere in the body, but it's quite common in the arms and the legs. And in the face, the common cause of paraesthesia, which is a terminology that we use includes inflammation, injury, diabetes, and of course, a vitamin deficiency. hormonal imbalance can also be part of it, especially during menopause, when estrogen and progesterone balance are not well, along with that, the deformation can be very wide. And if you have chronic infection, or chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia or renal fatigue, where your colleagues are not well balanced, that the body can be inflamed, and when the body's inflamed, then you can have these sensations of prestigous. Now, these are one of many, many reasons. So it's not exclusive, okay, of course not to be under estimated, is the road that small fiber neuropathy can be a problem. And so you have to see a kind of neurologist to get a workup on that. But primarily, we see a lot of that in adrenal fatigue we talked about earlier, due to the cause of dysregulation, because the colors all reduce inflammation. And if you don't have cortisol in the body, at an optimum level, the body tend to be a little inflamed. And this can this information can affect the autonomic nervous system. Okay, based autonomic nervous is built automatically. That's what's called automatic, autonomic, and is regulated by these neurotransmitters. At the same time, aside from calls on balance, you also have brain imbalances, as the neurotransmitters may be off between norepinephrine and epinephrine, as well as microbiome. microbiome is now gut. So when the microbiome is not balanced, you know, you have bacteria overgrowth, for example, then you're not going to be able to make the precursors of the neurotransmitters that goes to the brain for assembly, and that would also cause these that tingling sensation, well, you know, if you have a lot of skin crawling is definitely important to look at the root cause and see what is really going on addressing the underlying problem becomes very important, only a doctor can identify the potential cause and usually you should see a functional medicine doctor Okay, there may be something going on deeper when you have this paraesthesia type of feeling. So, talk to your doctor and then try to do the best you can to find out the root cause of the problem. We have found through the years that certain nutrients are particularly helpful, they include an alpha lipoic acid, which is an antioxidant but very gentle and it is a precursor to glutathione as well including found is one called a master antioxidant in the body, it donates electrons so it helps the liver to be clear and it helps to reduce the inflammation grapeseed extract is also very good because it is a antioxidant Okay, along with that is a black pepper fruit extract in a standardized way. So these three things calm the metabolic system, you know, I have this formula called Matt calm, which is designed for today. And then if you have skins, Christ sensation, these are some of the nutrients you can reach out that can support the body. So I encourage you to talk to your health professional, and then try a nutritional approach. If you don't have a structural problem that causes the body to be having this paraesthesia then vitamins, such as good nutrients and can be supportive. I like the MATCOM
