Speaker 2:

Welcome back to the WSW podcast. When is 9-11? Four days I'll be four days from now uh, sunday, monday, tuesday, wednesday. I don't think so, should we? No, I'm saying we do. We can't make any jokes. I gotta go to the dentist Wednesday? I don't know okay, so definitely not, I can't talk. Well, let me make sure we podcast before that. But getting back to what we're doing. Sorry, we meant I can't talk. Well, let me make sure we podcast before that.

Speaker 1:

But getting back to what we're doing, sorry.

Speaker 2:

We met to podcast yesterday, but by the time the Eagles game was over, jace had to go to sleep. He had to work today. It was a whole thing. So now it is we're getting to the end of the Cow's Ball Saturday and all that going on, so we figured we'd jump on. My house game literally just ended. It was a 7.30 game. So Jace had a great idea hey, let's just go ahead and podcast now. Let's just do this thing and get it out of the way, and that's exactly what we will do. Speaking of college ball Saturday, let's just go ahead and talk about it. Would you like me to get off my thing about my Ohio State game Because it just ended? Ohio State played great. Looks like the score is going to be 50 56 to nothing. Um, total route will.

Speaker 2:

Howard played well. He could get. He was short on a couple throws. One, one big play downfield to jeremiah smith. That would have been a touchdown. He under threw and then he floated a pass to jelani thurman, the tight end. He like floated one. It was a little too high for him. Like those are two touchdown passes he could have had, but he didn't do that.

Speaker 2:

But our running game went absolutely insane today. Quinchon Judkins had nine carries, 108 yards, two touchdowns. Travion Henderson had another 10 yards. No, he had 10 carries, 66 yards and two touchdowns. James Peoples, another running back, had 10 carries, 51 yards and a touchdown. We had over almost 300 yards in rushing today, so the rushing really did kind of carry the day for us.

Speaker 2:

Um, we got all three. We had three quarterbacks in for us to actually four quarterbacks in for Ohio State today. Will Howard, like already said, julian Sane had a touchdown pass, devin Brown came in and also went five for 557 yards. So it was a route for a team like ohio state bringing in, paying a western michigan broncos team a million dollars to come in and get beat up on. It's exactly how it was supposed to go. They came in, we destroyed them and it was pretty simple, especially on a game where other teams were upset by the team they paid a million dollars. I'm definitely going to take the game that I got today. Good game. All right, jace, let's go ahead and talk about your game now before we get into the uh, the other games that happened today. Michigan state played maryland. You guys got the win. Um, what was the score of that? Uh, 30, 27 it was I think it was 27-24.

Speaker 2:

27-24. Yeah, so how'd you feel? Positive thoughts, negative thoughts, what you got?

Speaker 1:

Aiden Childs still don't look that great. He looks okay. We have a good set of receivers. I think they're very good yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I think we are a decent team with a quarterback at the helm that is too young to be at the helm.

Speaker 2:

Nick Marsh had a good game.

Speaker 1:

Nick Marsh had a very good game. Another rookie, he's also very young, he is 18.

Speaker 2:

He had eight receptions, 194 yards and a touchdown. Aiden Childs, as much as you say he did, he did struggle in this game, like you said. He did have 363 yards, 3 touchdowns, 3 picks.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I just the kid is Way too young. He's younger than I am, Like he's 2. He's 2 and a half years younger than I am and I would freak out at 20 being on the football field. I can't even imagine what it feels like at 18. He's just too young to be on the field right now. And I won't say it's hurting him For trial by fire. I think he's doing well. I just think it's he's for trial by fire. I think he's doing well. I just think it's the kid's out there and I feel like he's struggling a little bit Because at times it looks like he doesn't have the confidence to do certain things. He's learning on the job and sometimes learning on the job ain't for everybody, True? I don't think he's one of those guys. I think he's going to do well, I just think it's a slow process, slow burn.

Speaker 2:

We have a slow bird but we're winning games yes, you'd much rather be complaining about this on a win than doing it in a loss right, yeah, I, if.

Speaker 1:

If there's a loss, I'd be calling for his backup, because I know his backup's been at michigan state for a. But he has all the athletic tools. He doesn't look great doing it. It looks when doing it it's sloppy. He doesn't make good reads. He takes too long to figure out where he wants to throw the ball. He doesn't go through the process but once he's out of the pocket he freaks out, and now he's going too fast with the process. He can't look at anybody long enough. There was one where Antonio Gates Jr funny enough he was decent in this game was.

Speaker 1:

I'm talking, he's middle of the field, he's like center field fucking waving his hand, but Aiden Childs is running away from it and he's not looking that way. Antonio Gates Jr beat his dude because his guy left him to go get Nick Marsh because at that point Nick Marsh had already had 100 yards. Antonio Gates Jr was just throwing his hands up in the air like hey, and he didn't see it because he was so focused on Nick Marsh. Everybody else lost in the offense and then we won't run the ball.

Speaker 2:

You guys had. You were with Nate Carter.

Speaker 1:

He had 59 yards rushing in this game Like we've gotten really far away from running the ball, and that's one of the things Michigan State's really good at. We are hard-nosed runners and they're not doing that. And it's just, I don't know, New coach, new quarterback. We're trying to figure everything out, so it's a lot of growing pains, but we're getting games done. They're not pretty, it's ugly, but we're 2-0 in the season, so I guess I'll take it. We'll take it. And it's not pleasant to watch by any means. It's frustrating as hell.

Speaker 2:

It's like pulling teeth. I have to bet.

Speaker 1:

Uh, and I'm just staring at the TV like, oh, my fucking God, I could be doing so many other things besides this. What the fuck are we doing, bro? Uh? But yeah, that's it.

Speaker 2:

Okay, well, at least it's in a win. You're two. And now on the season.

Speaker 1:

I'm the last two wins of the season.

Speaker 2:

Don't say that. Don't say that, it's okay, it's all good.

Speaker 1:

I didn't think we were going to beat Maryland.

Speaker 2:

You could be with some of these other teams losing to teams they're paying a bunch of money to come to them.

Speaker 2:

So, speaking of other games, I'm just going to kind of run through some and the games that we have some more thoughts on. We'll just kind of jump in. But we'll just kind of go through this thing here. So for the games that are happening right now Bama's beating South Florida right now 35-16. Again, this is almost 11 o'clock at night, so we have the late games that are still going. So if anything happens after we are done with this podcast today, then we will revisit it when we come back for the next podcast. But we have to go. We can't be waiting all night, right? Bama's beating South Florida 35-16. That game's pretty much in hand. It was pretty close for a while, which I don't understand why, but you know Bama at least took control and they're definitely in control. They're going to win this game pretty handedly.

Speaker 2:

Tennessee's beating NC State. This is one of the only two ranked on ranked matchups happening today. Tennessee's beating NC State 44-10. Beating NC State 44-10. Game's pretty in hand. It looked pretty weird and early, but again, this is two ranked-on-ranked teams, but Tennessee is going to win this game pretty well.

Speaker 2:

Oklahoma and Houston are currently playing. Oklahoma is beating Houston 16-12. Very ugly game. Honestly. Oklahoma's not really playing well at all. Houston can't really take advantage of Oklahoma not playing well and so it's just a very ugly game. Oklahoma looks like they should be able to win this game. There is a minute 42 left, but you know, anything could happen. Clemson destroyed App State 66 to 20, not even close. Clemson, coming back after a bad loss last week, bad attitude, destroyed App State not even close.

Speaker 2:

Oregon right now is losing to Boise State 10-7. Oregon did struggle last week with Idaho, so people were guessing that this game against Boise State could be a problem. Boise State's currently leading, like I already said, with 11 minutes left in the second quarter. So this game could go either way. But the fact that Oregon with everybody was saying how Oregon is a top playoff favorite, a potential national championship contender, those titles might be taking a hit as of early on in the season, but again, this game has yet to be played. Oregon come out and just score the next 70 straight points and this game could be without any issue.

Speaker 2:

But I figured may as well just mention how it is not looking too good as of right now. Let's see Next games. Lsu beat Nichols 44-21, pretty handily. Georgia beat Tennessee Tech. The only reason I'm mentioning this game is because it's Tennessee Tech. Jace, you were mad at me earlier about how Ohio State's schedule is cheeks right, but Georgia is playing Tennessee Tech. Insane, insane amount of it doesn't make any sense Because, again, as much as you're yelling about Western Michigan, you would know Western Michigan before you know Tennessee Tech.

Speaker 1:

Again, just because I don't know those schools doesn't mean those schools aren't equal. There's no way Western Michigan is better than Tennessee Tech.

Speaker 2:

Western Michigan is an FBS program. They play in the MAAC. Tennessee Tech is an FCS program. Same shit? No, it's not. It's literally not Same shit.

Speaker 2:

Okay, all right, I'm going to go off that. Other games. First big one of the day Texas. This is the other ranked on ranked matchup. Texas goes into Ann Arbor, michigan, and dismantles the reigning national champs 31-12. This game wasn't close.

Speaker 2:

The Michigan offense was absolutely putrid. Both quarterbacks came in and did not really play all that well. Davis Warren, he was the starting quarterback and pretty much played most of this game 22 of 33 for 204 and one touchdown with two picks. Their rushing attack really wasn't all that spectacular Either. They had 80 yards total in this game.

Speaker 2:

In comparison to what they were last year, where they were able to move everybody off the ball, this offensive line for this Michigan team is nowhere close to what it was, what it once was. Um, their receivers were really nothing like for the most part. Like you could tell that, the texas team did not fear their receivers at all for be able to be able to hurt them downfield. So it did lead to texas's defense being able to really pull the trigger on any running play they had whatsoever. And heck, their leading receiver for Michigan was Colston Loveland, who was a tight end. So you can just kind of tell that's where their receiving attack is as of right now. And then Alex Orji, the other quarterback that potentially was going to win the job. He honestly is nothing for this team.

Speaker 1:

He is so bad at throwing the football.

Speaker 2:

Alex Orji. He was the guy that everybody thought was going to be the starter for them this year. But he is so bad at throwing the football they can't even have him be the starter, even though he's probably more athletic. So every time they try to bring this guy in, he can't run the football at all. Because the Texas defense was like, hey, this guy's on the field, he's definitely not going to throw it. So they were just able to attack and he was really ineffective. Let's go to Texas here. They went to Ann Arbor and dismantled them.

Speaker 2:

The game honestly wasn't close In the first quarter where Texas got the first touchdown. It almost felt like Michigan was never going to be able to make up that difference because of how bad their offense was. And this Texas offense had no issue, pretty much no issue. They were a little bit. They had a little bit of trouble in the red zone getting some more scores, like they should have scored a lot more points. But Quinn Ewers played very well 24, 36, 246, 246 yards, three touchdowns, no picks. Well, 24-36, 246, 246 yards, three touchdowns, no picks.

Speaker 2:

Their rushing attack was pretty good. Ryan Wingo had one carry for 55 yards one very big play. But their running back is kind of like running back by committee, because they lost their top two running backs before the season even started. So they're really doing it by committee with not only wide receivers but their other backup running backs they had. Their receiving core is pretty much the strength of this team um gunner helm seven reception, 98 yards and a touchdown. Isaiah bond three reception, 51 yards. Like they have a very deep wide receiver room with a bunch of talented dudes and michigan's secondary wasn't able to stop them whatsoever.

Speaker 2:

And as much as michigan got a lot of credit for how great their defense is coming into this year, honestly their twos are so bad that Texas' offense was—you could literally flip a coin Actually, not flip a coin, but you could literally, just based on what Michigan was running if their two defensive tackles were in the game. They are game wreckers. They're going to be first-round draft picks. They're going to be great. That's how good those defensive tackles are. If they were in the game, texas, one of your was running a quick style offense getting the ball outside, throwing it to the running back, quick screen stuff like that but then as soon as they get, they're taken off the field because they're too tired. They were, texas was able to run inside for pretty much all they wanted. So it's like you could just tell, because the difference between their michigan's ones and twos, even on that great defense, is so great that tex was able to take advantage of that and michigan wasn't able to fight.

Speaker 2:

They had no recourse for how this game was going at all and it was absolutely putrid game to watch. Actually, not for me, because I was having a very fun time watching this game as I was watching our younger brother play baseball. I just kind of had it on my phone. So I had a lot of fun watching this, because I love to see Michigan fail and for some people that like to see their rivals be good so they can crush their dreams at the end of the season, no, I want my rival Michigan to be the worst team of all time.

Speaker 2:

I want them to lose every single game and then I want Ohio State to be the exclamation point on the awful season that they had. That's what I want. I don't want the team I'm facing to be good. I want them to be terrible and then I want to kick their face in more Like. That's what I want. That's the type of rival that I am Like it was funny because we were at the games at Braylon, our younger brother games there was a couple Michigan fans. I was throwing a couple horns up just for fun.

Speaker 1:

I don't care.

Speaker 2:

I was feeling a little trolly today.

Speaker 1:

You a D1 hater. I'm a Hall of Fame hater, I got the. Hall of Fame badge dude Josh Jacobs. Yesterday I was hating for no reason. Yeah, I hate just to hate If I see a happy couple on the street. I'm going to hate and I am in a happy relationship. I just like hating. But you, you're going to be good one day, Because I'm lying. I do truly have that much hate for Ohio State fans. I truly do. All of you are delusional.

Speaker 2:

We're not delusional.

Speaker 1:

Whatever dude.

Speaker 2:

Sorry, I'm making a text here, Okay. So, all that being the case, I know you're a d1 hater, I get it, I, I, but I'm I for michigan. I am a d, I am a, but you know what's funny? I'm not only a hater of them, I hate other things, but obviously watching michigan lose today was an absolute. I like the cherry on top on top of the day that I already had with ohio state winning like they have, and I will cherish this forever until Ohio State gets to do it and I will watch them be able to stomp them out at the end of November. Let's get into the last few games here. Oh, notre Dame. They lost to Northern Illinois 16-14. Northern Illinois needed a last second field goal in order to win this game.

Speaker 2:

A couple things I took away from this game. Riley Leonard, who they brought in from Duke to be their transfer quarterback for this game, can't throw the football. He's kind of poopy. It's funny because I don't want to be mean, because I'm like this dude when he's able to run out, when he extend plays and like get outside the pocket, like really run, he is like you can tell he gets his confidence doing that. But if he, when he is forced to sit in the pocket, read the defense and make a throw absolute dog crap dude. I'm just like the fact they probably paid this dude a bunch of money to come in and like this is especially after coming after last week right, they go to Texas A&M, they go and beat them at their house and then you have all week of everybody talking about how Notre Dame has the easiest path to the playoff. They are favored in every single one of the games they have for the rest of the season. They have such an easy path, they're so good to go, and this happens every time.

Speaker 2:

As soon as Notre Dame starts to have any big expectations is when they poop themselves and they they had it for exactly for one week and they go and lose this game to a team that should have no business beating this team because of how putrid their offense is and the fact their defense honestly couldn't even do that much either against this NIU offense.

Speaker 2:

Like they were able to get up and down the field Obviously NIU is not necessarily of the same caliber as Notre Dame so like they weren't able to take advantage as much as they probably could have. But like this Notre Dame offense is absolutely awful Trash and they weren't able to really count on anybody for offense other than Jeremiah Love being their running back, but outside of that they pretty much have nobody. So NIU going into Notre Dame's house and getting this win was another gem to see, because as much as I love Haiti, michigan, but I also love Haiti and Notre Dame as well Most because I think Notre Dame fans might be the Dallas Cowboy fans of college football, like I'm talking because you call Ohio State fans delusional, but at least we're of a certain caliber to where that delusion makes sense. Notre Dame is not, has not been of that caliber in a long time, but Notre Dame fans feel like they are.

Speaker 1:

Regular season caliber. Right, huh, regular season caliber. You're of that caliber in a long time, but Notre Dame fans feel like they are Regular season caliber, right? Huh, regular season caliber. You're of that regular season caliber.

Speaker 2:

We've made playoff games.

Speaker 1:

We have made a national championship game. I've seen Dallas in the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2:

When? No, you haven't, you literally haven't.

Speaker 1:

That was in 88, like the last time they were in the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2:

I didn't see that, so you for sure didn't.

Speaker 1:

Dude, I'm omnipresent bro. Oh okay, sorry.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I should have known my bad.

Speaker 1:

My apologies sir, are you the Cowboys of college football?

Speaker 2:

No.

Speaker 1:

I don't know A lot of regular season success and you just flutter out the end. Stop it, bro. Ooh, that was good we have a national championship. That was the Super Bowls 30 years ago.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 1:

We're at 10,. Joe, we're at 11.

Speaker 2:

Okay, but I've been to multiple. I've been to another national championship and lost it obviously to Bama. But I've been, but I've been to multiple. I've been to another national championship and lost it obviously to Bama. But I've been and I've also been in the playoffs and been close.

Speaker 1:

So what's it all for if it's not a national?

Speaker 2:

We've gone farther than Dallas Cowboys. I'm not going to let you do this.

Speaker 1:

I'm not going to let you sit there and egg me on.

Speaker 2:

You're not going to egg me on Every year.

Speaker 1:

You them boys huh. Year. You them boys huh. Because we are have the talent to be so not, yeah, so does cowboys, I'm not gonna let you do this to me.

Speaker 2:

I'm gonna go, I'm gonna keep going. Um, you have any thoughts on Notre Dame, northern Illinois? Uh, I was in a good mood until just now.

Speaker 1:

You them boys bro, you them boys.

Speaker 2:

I hate you. Do you have any thoughts? Or are you just going to tag me on still, please? I may want to shoot myself.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to make you a custom sticker with the Ohio State logo and under it I'm going to have it say we them boys.

Speaker 2:

No.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to get on that right now.

Speaker 2:

I ask for Notre Dame and Northern Illinois thoughts. Please, Anything Custom?

Speaker 1:

stickers Jace, please Nah.

Speaker 2:

Okay, thank you God, penn State had a doozy against Bowling Green. They won the game 34-27. They needed some late game heroics in order to kind of pull this game out and make it look as even a 10-point win, look as good as it did, because I think Penn State was like a 32.5-point favorite before this game started. I think there was a little bit more after this game started. So, with Penn State having this game against Bowling Green, where in the first half our defense was awful and Bowling Green was able to move up and down the field and score a lot of points and the offense wasn't really able to, offense played well, but it really wasn't taken advantage of not really taken advantage of, but the offense wasn't able to necessarily keep up. It was at the end of the first half. It was 24 to 20. Bowling Green was was in the lead, but in the second half both Penn State's defense was able to play a lot better, but then Penn State's offense kind of went kaput and wasn't able to get the same output out. They were able to do enough just to get the lead in order to win this game, but for a Penn State team after last week everybody was talking about, hey, how dangerous they could be. Penn State rears their ugly head that, like hey, they're still coached by James Franklin. And the only reason I put this on James Franklin is because since James Franklin has been there which has been like, I think, a good eight or nine years now everything has changed around him but him and Penn State's been the exact same.

Speaker 2:

Penn State has been good enough to pretty much beat anybody in the country. They're good enough, they're talented enough, they have a great defense. Usually they have very talented pieces, but then, when it's time to go out there and actually play football, they have games like this. They still can't beat Ohio State or Michigan. That's pretty much been a foregone conclusion for what little while now? Other than one win back in 2014.

Speaker 2:

But other than that, it's the same story every year with this Penn State team, and the fact that they had such a great win last week against West Virginia made you think oh, drew Allard's taking the next step. Their offense looks pretty good, explosive, and everybody started get excited. They have this game against Bowling Green. That makes you question them again, and we all know, by the time they go and face Ohio State and Michigan, they're going to wet the bed again and they're going to lose to both of those teams. Actually, they could actually beat Michigan. They probably beat Michigan and they probably will beat Michigan. But guess what? Michigan's already proved themselves to not be what everybody thought they were coming into this season.

Speaker 2:

You're not going to get a cookie for that, but when you go face Ohio State it's going to be a problem. With all that being the case, it's just like Penn State being the same old Penn State and it's just fun to see, even though I would have loved to see that upset too, but it just wasn't in the cards for me. Today, getting Michigan to lose was enough. Michigan to Notre Dame was enough. Utah beat Baylor, miami beat Florida A&M. Oklahoma State beat Arkansas 39-31 and took two overtimes to do so. That was a very good game to watch. A lot of scoring. Like I said, 70 points was scored, so it was very fun getting to watch that one.

Speaker 2:

Kansas State had to have some late-game heroics to come back and win their game 34 to 27 against tulane um. Illinois beat kansas. Kansas was ranked and ranked and they lost at illinois 23 to 17. Um. Iowa state beat iowa the battle, battle for iowa. Iowa state had to come back and they hit a game-winning field goal in the last few seconds to win that game against Iowa in Iowa's house. And Syracuse beat Georgia Tech 31-28. And that's pretty much all the games. We've talked about them all and there's still a few going on, but when it comes to any updates on that, we'll get back at you next podcast.

Speaker 1:

What about Colorado? Might as well talk about how they got blown out. Ooh.

Speaker 2:

Let me get that for you. Let me give me a second here. Let's see what is that Big 10.

Speaker 1:

Sorry, I thought that might as well be a game. We talk about.

Speaker 2:

It didn't come to me. It really didn't even occur to me because of how dumb this game was. Nebraska beat Colorado 28-10.

Speaker 1:

28-10. And it's a.

Speaker 2:

Colorado scoring seven garbage time points in order to make the game that close. This game was not close whatsoever. You can't even just say that Colorado's defense was bad. Their offense was terrible too. Shador Sanders had 244 yards, one pick, one touchdown and one pick, and the pick was a pick six. It was awful, like they very bad. They were on their one yard line and they were throwing the football and he throws, tries to throw it out. Uh, those two the wide receiver on the outside and the cornerback comes and cherry picks it and takes it back into the end zone. Um, they weren't able to run the football. They had a combined 16 yards rushing Receiving Travis Hunter 10 receptions, 110 yards, no touchdowns. He's still that guy Got it he is, but again in a losing effort.

Speaker 2:

Everybody talks about how he's a Heisman candidate.

Speaker 1:

You got to win. Your team has to win, you got to win. That's why, like I can't say Joe Burrow though Joe Burrow's never really been an MVP- candidate.

Speaker 2:

It's like having winning True Even the year we got to the Super.

Speaker 1:

Bowl. He only got one vote. Yeah, no question, Josh.

Speaker 2:

Allen won it that year. It wouldn't have been Josh Allen, it would have been Patrick Holmes.

Speaker 1:

No, it was Josh Allen. Oh, that would have been Mahomes. Yeah, but again, we fucking murdered Mahomes twice.

Speaker 2:

Again, it's not like the NBA, where they have it separated in between regular season and postseason. It's all regular season.

Speaker 1:

I know, but we murdered him in the regular season.

Speaker 2:

But wasn't that also the year Joe Burrow didn't play to start the year and then had to come back?

Speaker 1:

No, no. We just didn't play good for the first three weeks, like we always do, and then we didn't lose a game. We went 10-7. We lost all seven of those games very early and then we won 15 games straight. No, it was 13. Because we lost Super Bowl, it would it was 13. Because we lost Super Bowl, it would have been 14, but we lost Super Bowl. We won 13 straight games, uncontested.

Speaker 2:

It all comes back to Joe Burrow at some point. It always is. It's Joe Burrow's world. We're just living in it. Yes, sir, going to Nebraska, will you talk about the winners? I love Joe Burrow. I'd suck him off right now. I know you would.

Speaker 1:

I'd be up to Cincinnati.

Speaker 2:

Down to Cincinnati in a flash dude, can I talk about?

Speaker 2:

the winners of this game. Fuck, no bro. Dylan Rayola, the freshman phenom quarterback that started for them coming off the year, he went 23 of 30, outplaying Shador Sanders, went for 185 yards, a touchdown, no picks. Their running game for Nebraska was honestly the superstar of this game. They had a combined 149 rushing yards and two touchdowns, led by Dante Dodle 17 carries, 74 yards and two touchdowns. Pretty sure it's Dodle that's how you say it Receiving 185 yards. Like I already said, touchdown to Ramir Johnson.

Speaker 2:

And it's funny, with the one touchdown that they had, it was a straight-up pick, like it was in the middle of the field. They're around like on Colorado's like 30-yard line and you have Dylan Mariola throw it and the linebacker looks like he's about to cherry pick this thing off. He had an easy pick, goes right through his hands, bounces up and the wide receiver that it was thrown to just catches it and then runs it to the end zone. That's what kind of day it was for Colorado. They had no shot. Deion Sanders was going to have an embarrassing day, no matter what, and that play was pretty much the intent of the whole day. So, and then the defense played very well, for Nebraska kept Colorado on from being able to do what they usually do offensively.

Speaker 2:

Um, this is what I'll say. I could just sit here and hate on them all that, but I'll just say, at the end of the day, as much flash and everything that you'd like to have when you were a Colorado, everything that Deion Sanders is, he is. He is a great, he was a great player and he has a great persona. He has a great personality and he can he can woo anybody into doing whatever he wants, because he's that dude, right In every sense of the word. He lives it. I totally believe that, but at the end of the day, you can be all that, but at the end of the day, your players need to go out there and play and back up whatever he says or whatever the program is saying and at the end of the day, based on how he likes to, he's bringing in players from the transfer portal, literally bringing in 40 players a year for these last two years in the transfer portal and redoing these teams that way and not doing any type of high school recruiting.

Speaker 2:

I really, truly believe that he will not coach Colorado Pass this year. I think this is all about getting Shador Sanders and Travis Hunter into the NFL and either he will follow them there or he will go coach somewhere else or stop coaching altogether, because you do not have aspirations to coach this team long term if you're not going to bring in high school recruits, I agree you don't. It's just not how it's not how it works. So with the way that you, you're running this program, you're going to keep losing games. You're going to and you're you're facing nebraska. You're at their house, I get it. You probably weren't going to win this game anyway. It was a bad spot.

Speaker 2:

But for the way that you guys got mollywhopped and embarrassed should be something for your team to be like hey, we're not who we think we are. We really need to dig in and become a better team. But I just don't think that's going to happen and it'll be more of this and I just I just don't know how this is going to end well for it. And people are going to make it to where, oh, everybody's just dion haters. Everybody just wants to hate on them because he's a black coach and I'm like, no, it's just the fact that when you want to be so loud and you lose, you're going to get outed for it. That's how it goes. I just, I don't know, it's a. I don't want to sit here and hate on them, but I also can't not notice all the flat the, the brashness they like to walk around with when they're losing football games like this. I don't know, I'm going to get off, no.

Speaker 1:

I agree, man, I I actually think he probably does stop coaching after this. I don't disagree with you. I think he does stop coaching at least for colorado.

Speaker 2:

He might go to the nfl with his son I think he just straight up, who knows? Who knows? I just think it's, it's a, it's a, it's a bad, bad spot. Before we jump into going in the NFL stuff, oregon is still losing to Boise State 17-14, with four minutes left in the second quarter. Who knows, we might have a little more fireworks when it comes to upsets tonight, but we'll go on to the NFL now. Start with the NFL.

Speaker 1:

You're about to have not a single top 10 team on your fucking roster that you're about to play. What do you mean? Who is the hardest team you're playing? Probably Oregon.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And they're about to lose to Boise.

Speaker 2:

They're not going to as of right now. They're not going to lose to.

Speaker 1:

Boise. Okay, if you don't play a fucking ranked team, you have the easiest schedule in college football, because I play a ranked team.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you gotta play us. Yeah, we can't play ourselves.

Speaker 1:

Well, figure it out. You just split your twos and ones and put the game on your fucking schedule. It'd be much more fun than fucking Western Michigan.

Speaker 2:

Alright, you wanna talk about NFL now.

Speaker 1:

I want the favoritism to end. I want it to end.

Speaker 2:

NFL. There's already been two games that have happened. In week one. We got the Baltimore-Kansas City game. That was on Thursday night, and then we had the Green Bay-Philly game on Friday night. We did make our predictions for these games before the games even started. This was when we did the podcast on Wednesday, tuesday Wednesday One of the two Something like that. Let me go ahead and go to the NFL stuff here.

Speaker 1:

It would have been Wednesday.

Speaker 2:

Wednesday right, Okay, so we'll recap those two games first and then we'll get into predicting the rest of our games. And if you haven't listened to our podcast before and you managed to get through all the Cosmo stuff, I congratulate you. What we usually do is we go through and we pick every single game out, we keep track of it throughout the year and then by the end of the year we kind of just come through what our grand total is, who won the year, who didn't win the year, what our grand total is, who won the year, who didn't win the year, and have a whole record and everything. And we include the playoffs as well. With all of that, I did win last year. I had a better record. I don't actually have the number on me right now, but it's a new year so let's not even talk about that. So, week one Baltimore at Kansas City. Kansas City won that game 27-20.

Speaker 2:

Let's see here. Sorry, I'm trying to get to the box score so I can give you some quick stats here. Mahomes went 20-28, 291 yards. One touchdown, one pick. Isaiah Pacheco 15 carries, 45 yards and a touchdown. Rasheed Rice seven receptions 103 yards.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, man, he was dodging and evading man. Ah, you're crazy, bro. Sorry, fuck the Chiefs man.

Speaker 2:

Xavier Worthy two receptions, 47 yards and a touchdown. But Xavier Worthy also had a rushing touchdown as well. It was like a reverse scamper that he also had for 21 yards and a touchdown. He was the real superstar of that team.

Speaker 1:

Fucking speed kills. He has feet for fucking hands. He can't catch with it. God damn. He was catching well. That night he had like two good catches. He also did drop a couple. He does have feet for fucking hands, but he's like a 50% ass receiver it's just if he touches that ball, that man is un-fucking-catchable.

Speaker 2:

They're already manufacturing ways for him to get the football and it was working that night against Baltimore A great defense in their own right. Maybe they're not as good as they usually are, but they have the bones to be another good defense this year. So the fact that they were able to manufacture ways for him to get the football and play that well now imagine when he actually does progress and become a better wide receiver in general.

Speaker 2:

He'll only get better and better. It does give me some Tyreek Hill vibes, to be totally honest with you, the way they were using him. But you know what's crazy, right? You know who has to be hurting the most watching Xavier Worthy play like that the Bills who traded with the Chiefs for the Chiefs to trade up and get him.

Speaker 1:

I don't know why you would ever trade with a fucking rival.

Speaker 2:

I don't care what you want and what you're willing to give me. No, I'm not going to let you have it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it was stupid.

Speaker 2:

On principle alone. You should feel like that should be something you should not do On principle alone. You should feel like that should be something you should not do on principle alone. But apparently they like watching the canton city cheese get better as a football team. Um, let's see when it kind of their defense played very well. Um baltimore. Let me go to the, to the losing side of this. Um lamar jackson 26 to 41, 273, one touchdown. Um, he was the leading rusher for them in this game too. He had 16 carries, 122 yards as well. So lamar jackson really was doing everything, everything for this team. You know what's funny is that baltimore.

Speaker 2:

I think the two biggest problems for this baltimore team. You know, I know I kind of kept the kansas city side kind of short because I like kansas city did not necessarily play a great game. My Mahomes played okay. Their receiving core, rasheed Rice and Xavier Worthy, were kind of like the best ones. But Travis Kelsey had three receptions for 34 yards. He really didn't have much of a great game. But on the Ravens' side it's funny because I think the difference was that Kansas City was a team. They knew who they were. They are an established team that kind of knows who they are, how they want to play offensively and defensively, in a way that it with Baltimore it seems like they are not sure yet. They're not sure if they want to be more of a running team. They have Derrick Henry, but he ran 13 times for 46 yards. Like it yo real quick he did not look good at all.

Speaker 1:

He got stood the fuck up a lot. Uh, I'm talking linebackers came in and hit him in a way that I've never seen. Derrick Henry stood up.

Speaker 2:

And I don't necessarily blame him. I think it's because that offensive line is very young Is nothing close to what it once was yes, they were not great.

Speaker 1:

He did have a couple runs where they were like pushing him to the outside and he was getting a. He couldn't build up any steam. Pushed him to the outside and he was getting a— he couldn't build up any steam.

Speaker 1:

Yep, he is a freight train, unlike Nick Chubb, who's a fucking wrecking ball. Yeah, he's coming at you as fast as he can, immediately. Derek Henry needs to get going. True, he couldn't get going, so they kept standing his ass back up, but like they were running some like reverse plays, they were getting involved. It's just the O-line, wasn't?

Speaker 2:

great. Replacing three starters is definitely not a way that you would like to have an offseason for your team.

Speaker 2:

No, it is not, but their O-line looked bad and for this Baltimore attack it just seems like they're really still trying to figure who they are. They were doing a lot of quick passing. Zay Flowers had a like six carries, 37 yards. He just was getting a lot of quick passes. There really wasn't getting as much chunk yardage. Isaiah likely was like literally their best player that night. He had nine receptions, 111 yards and a touchdown. Rashad bateman two receptions, 53 yards.

Speaker 2:

Heck, isaiah likely should have had like even more yardage in another touchdown because at the end of this, this game, baltimore had a shot to win the game and it looked like they did. And then on the third and goal, they it was to Zay Flowers it was. Zay Flowers, lamar Jackson totally missed them.

Speaker 1:

He just, zay Flowers, was running the route and Lamar Jackson just threw behind him. Yep, he anticipated the throw way too late. You can see it, lam, way too late. You can see it Lamar's looking through his read. Then he sees a flower and just throws it too late.

Speaker 2:

Yep.

Speaker 1:

And then they go for it on the fourth down and this ball was beautifully thrown.

Speaker 2:

Great throw it was.

Speaker 1:

To a place only Isaiah Likesley could get it. It's just when that Kansas City player hit him.

Speaker 2:

He pushed Isaiah Likesley forward just millimeters man A little bit and his toe just went out of balance.

Speaker 1:

His toe touched out of balance. But I do like the call by. That's John Harbaugh.

Speaker 2:

He was going to go for two as soon as he likely caught the ball.

Speaker 1:

It cuts him and he's already telling him to go for two. But, man, if Isaiah Likely, who was slightly smaller not even half a shoe size, I'm talking maybe a quarter of an inch it's a touchdown. But it was a great game. The Ravens do look good. They just look like the offense is holding them back a little bit.

Speaker 2:

Their offensive line is not able to stop a fastball at all.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so they got away from their power run scheme, which is what I think would help Derrick Henry a lot more. I also think it would help Zay Flowers, because they were not using him how they were last year. They were also like drawing up plays for Zay Flowers that everyone could fucking. They just kept snuffing those plays out. It was the most obvious shit in the world.

Speaker 2:

A lot of quick passes, man.

Speaker 1:

Like on fourth and three, they faked the ball to Eric Henry and then threw to Zay Flowers and there was already three defenders in Zay Flowers' face.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

No one was tricked on that. You would have been better off if faking the throw and running it to the other way, yeah, but I don't know their play call got really bad. It was not great this.

Speaker 2:

Ravens team should be better as their off the line gets better. It's just they weren't able to stop Kansas City's pass rush. They were just eating and getting after Lamar Jackson. Which is why Lamar Jackson had to get so many rushing yards was because he was running for his life back there and I just feel like, with all that being the case and it just felt like the Ravens did not know what type of offense they really want to be in comparison to a Kansas City Chiefs team that knows who they are, that's led by a Patrick Mahomes team that's going to run the football with Isaiah Pacheco very effectively, but then be able to lean on Patrick Mahomes to go out there and make great throws and make good decisions out there. And, especially because he's been through so much, there's nothing he hasn't seen and his football IQ has only continued to match his talent that he's always had in the NFL. So it only gets better and better for him.

Speaker 2:

So, with them being able to get this big win to start the season off, it was definitely a big one for Kansas City, especially when they face you guys in Week 2. If they can knock off both the Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals in the first two weeks of the season. I think it'll only set them up better for potential first seed down the road to where you have those tiebreakers. So if you end up having like records, they have that tiebreaker over you when it comes to that. So definitely a big win for the Kansas City Chiefs. But I think we said this on the last podcast this game felt like the Ravens needed this more than the Chiefs. Based on how the last season went and how the Ravens played so terribly in the playoffs against this Chiefs team, it felt like the Ravens did need this game more. So I think it just makes it that much more painful when the Chiefs was able to pull this game out the way they did. Oh, by the way, the kickoff the dynamic kickoff kind of poopy, right, it's trash.

Speaker 1:

I want to see a dead body.

Speaker 2:

That's not going to happen anymore, I know.

Speaker 1:

I can't even watch fucking quarterbacks throw the ball up to a defensive receiver. I want the safety to go killer.

Speaker 2:

You did mention how you didn't like how the Ravens were being called for the offensive line penalties, right.

Speaker 1:

Those were bad.

Speaker 2:

I think it's an emphasis on the offensive linemen, especially the tackles, to not be too far back from the line.

Speaker 1:

This is fine and all. Yeah, call it on both sides, but if I need to, watch that same right guard from last year, and this year he gets off the line a whole three seconds for everybody else, every fucking snap.

Speaker 2:

I think that's an exaggeration. It's not three seconds.

Speaker 1:

Dude, pull the fucking clip up. That motherfucker's off the line. Well, for everybody else it's bullshit, and he was doing it last year, and no one fucking calls it. He doesn't ever fucking snap. I don't see it. The script, the NFL's writing for this year, is crazy.

Speaker 2:

And it makes it more obvious when they were calling Baltimore that much early on in the game and then you don't call for the Chiefs it makes it a bigger thing.

Speaker 1:

Playing in Kansas City is becoming fucking Lambeau. I don't want to deal with a second fucking Lambeau. Fuck playing in Lambeau. You couldn't get a call if you paid the fucking refs. Fuck that dude. Playing in Lambeau is hell on earth. It's fucking terrible. It's cold as shit. It's it's July. Why is it 31, 31, let alone get a passing affairs call? No, j Alexander would be fucking. He'd be fucking around on the secondary. Hey, watch this and pull this, nigga fucking helmet off like his strap wasn't strapped in.

Speaker 1:

He has so many uncalled PI calls. It's fucking crazy. His fucking, his little. His favorite emote's the seatbelt. Yeah, because we choking these motherfuckers out. Sorry, I fucking hate Lambo. I lost to Aaron Rodgers the Super Bowl year. That was the last loss we had. I lost to Aaron Rodgers the Super Bowl year. That was the last loss we had, Fucking lost to Aaron Rodgers. And I had to watch fucking PI after PI. John Alexander fucking choked, fully choked. Slam T Higgins. Not a goddamn thing was said.

Speaker 2:

It's not like you have to play them that much. They're in the NFC Huh, it's not like you have to play them that much there in the NFC Huh, it's not like you have to play that much in the NFC, but it's everybody Anytime.

Speaker 1:

Anybody plays in Lambeau, you don't get shit called for you.

Speaker 2:

They're the champs man. They get called I know but or non-clubs.

Speaker 1:

I also have to play in Kansas City this year.

Speaker 2:

Yep, you gotta go to their house. I.

Speaker 1:

You know who's fucking doing the game. Tony motherfucking Romo or Patrick.

Speaker 2:

Mahomes Alright, it's gonna peak. So bad Dude, I don't care.

Speaker 1:

I hate Tony Romo. If he's not sucking off Mahomes, he's sucking off Allen.

Speaker 2:

Okay, you gotta hold on to this, because we have another week before that happens.

Speaker 1:

I know, but I just I have to prepare for it because I hate, I hate all right, his despair goes is so deep, dude, because let alone the year we're getting fucking shit kicked in by cooper rush and I have to go.

Speaker 2:

Tony romo, oh my fuck sorry well, I'm going a little tangent here I know jace lets me go my ohio state tangents. He gets to have his tony romo tangents. That's how. That's the literally the deal we have before the podcast, before the podcast. That's the deal we make with each other.

Speaker 2:

So no one likes tony romo all right, let's talk about the other game. Friday night, great in sao paulo, brazil, um green bay. Sao Paulo, brazil. Green Bay Packers Philadelphia Eagles. Philly wins the game 34-29. Let me give you some stats here. Jalen Hurts 20-34, 278 yards passing, two touchdowns, two picks Very bad picks on his route.

Speaker 1:

Very, very bad picks On him.

Speaker 2:

There was one he threw right down the middle of the field to Devontae Smith.

Speaker 2:

Devontae, you kept it's Devontae um, he threw right down in the middle of the field. Literally it was a late throw. And then there was like three DBs back there a throw he did not have to make. They were in their own red zone when he did it. Like like they, it was a very bad pass for him to try to go for and he did it anyway. That was a bad pick I think he also had. It was also a fumble as well that they lost. So there was like I think it was like some kind of stat that was like the first time that a player had threes not the first time, but it was like the record is like seven and like 100 and something when you have a team with three, one quarterback with three different turnovers, be able to win the game.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So with those bad picks they were still able to get a lot of big plays. Saquon Barkley he was a revelation for them this game. He had 24 carries, 109 yards, two touchdowns. He also had a 21-yard receiving touchdown in this game as well. Barkley was an absolutely amazing player for them last night. Aj Brown five receptions, 119 yards and a touchdown. That included one 70-yard touchdown reception that he kind of took and caught and he took it to the house. It was a battle of big plays versus the Green Bay Packers. It just seemed like they had to work a little bit harder to kind of get down the field, to kind of get down there. Jordan Love he had 217 of 34 to 34, 260 yards, two touchdowns and a pick. I don't know if you noticed this at all, jace did.

Speaker 2:

It seem like jordan love was not as accurate yeah and he was throwing off his back foot a lot, like he was not driving into his throws a lot. Yes, and I think to a certain extent he's been given a lot of credit for this, because he doesn't like Aaron Rodgers, but he's not Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers can do that all day, every day, because Aaron Rodgers has an otherworldly arm to where he can throw off his back foot and he's going to be able to hit the pass every time. Jordan Love is like, as much as everybody likes to say, he's still a little bit, he's lacking in his game.

Speaker 2:

So when he keeps throwing off his back foot, it's not as accurate was when aaron rogers does it I agree so it is like it seemed like last night he was just he was off on a lot of throws, throwing behind guys on easy passes. You felt like he should be completing all day. He just wasn't the same dude last night. And again, it's week one. You can get better. But the by the time the game is over, he ended up getting MCL injury. He's going to be out for the next three to four weeks. Who's their backup? Malik Willis.

Speaker 1:

Who.

Speaker 2:

Who they just traded for. Oh, so this is not going to be good for them for the next few weeks.

Speaker 1:

Or it could be good.

Speaker 2:

I don't think so.

Speaker 2:

I don't know, especially for the way they run their offense. Malik Willis is more of like a bide your time back there, make a big play. Jordan Love is not necessarily that. It's more of like a timing offense, where you're making the right play at the right time. Their offense is a lot like the San Fran offense in the way that it's made, in the way that it runs to where you like need to make those passes when the when the openings are there. Malik Willis ain't that dude again and he just got there. It's not like he's been. He's been there all offseason. He just got there a couple weeks ago. So I don't think he's necessarily gonna be as good at knowing the offense. Maybe they get a guy in a veteran to come in and run their play for them while he's out.

Speaker 1:

I doubt it.

Speaker 2:

But Destroyed Love just did not seem on last night. Josh Jacobs, as much as you hate him, he had 16 carries, 84 yards.

Speaker 1:

That's it.

Speaker 2:

That's all he had.

Speaker 1:

yes, no touchdowns.

Speaker 2:

No.

Speaker 1:

That motherfucker's trash.

Speaker 2:

Jaden Reed was the one that had the rushing touchdown on a reverse, on a reverse Elite. On a reverse. The wide receiver was able to come on and get the reverse.

Speaker 1:

Jaden Reed and run for 33 yards for the scamper. Jaden Reed is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL Michigan State product.

Speaker 2:

No, he's not, he's good. He also Jaden Reed. As I already mentioned to him, he also had four receptions 138 yards, 38 yards and another touchdown.

Speaker 1:

And he's not elite.

Speaker 2:

Come on, my boy. No, not elite, my boy. Come on, he's not elite at all.

Speaker 1:

No, I'm just saying Looks like one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. He's leading the league in receiving yards and touchdown.

Speaker 2:

Oh, that's funny how you want to see that. But yeah, it seemed like the Packers were just not able to take advantage of all the turnovers that Philadelphia had. Packers weren't able to take advantage of those, philadelphia was just able to for a lot of big plays. As many mistakes as Philadelphia made, you could just tell with all the talent that they have on their offense and their defense played better too. I think their defense was a little bit more like, especially their front seven. They were playing very like.

Speaker 2:

Their secondary is still a little bit iffy. Um, their green bay was still able to get a lot of passes down the field and kind of especially even with jordan love struggling um to play as well as we normally have seen, especially the second half of last year I think they were still able to move the football up and down the field. So that secondary Philadelphia is still a little iffy. But they're the way their offense is put together, with Saquon being the running back add so much versatility and explosiveness that if they can just keep it together and Jalen Hurts can kind of stay upright and make good, make good decisions, they should be able to win a lot of football games, especially when they're playing in the terrible NFC East. Um, like they should have a pretty good runway to get to the playoffs, if not win the division and all that. So, um, hopefully the Green Bay Packers can get through these next three or four weeks and get Jordan Love back and not have such a bad record and kind of have a waste of a season.

Speaker 2:

Um, but Philly getting the big win. All the credit to them. In Sao Paulo getting that. Oh, by the way, that turf, that grass turf mix combo, whatever they had absolutely slippery like crazy. There was a ton of plays where the players just slipping all over the place.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it was bad. It was like the weird turf, weird kind of field they had in the Super Bowl where it was grown in a freaking plot. They they installed it that day and everybody hated it and it was the worst. Yeah, they're sorry, the field was like that jj watt put it in a perfect sense.

Speaker 2:

I saw a tweet he had last night. Because that field is a soccer field, they're at a soccer stadium, right. That field, the way it's made, is built for players to run fast. They they're light, they click on their feet, be able to run up and down on it and they have no issue. That field is not made for 300-pound grown men, powerful, to be jump, cutting and doing all these very powerful movements on that turf to where it's breaking down like crazy.

Speaker 1:

That field was not ready for fucking 220 Saquon Barkley to make an insta-cut Right With power and speed and agility. Because that's what it looked like. It looked like he went to plant and push off the ground to cut. And slip, and he just took up a few chunks of fucking turf with him.

Speaker 2:

Right.

Speaker 1:

And just fell. Not even slip, he just fell. Yeah, no ground under him. He was hit the ground.

Speaker 2:

Right and it happened a lot. It happened for a lot of players on that field Like everybody was having that issue. Like it was. It got a little better in the second half after they kind of got their studs right and what they wanted to do. I know, but it was still an issue all night, heck and JJ.

Speaker 1:

It's not made for that. Soccer fields are made for speed. These guys are running really, really fast. The grass ain't as tough.

Speaker 2:

These are 150 pounds tops.

Speaker 1:

The heaviest dude probably on the field is the goalie Right and he's staying in the same area.

Speaker 2:

I doubt there's going to be any soccer player over 200 pounds, over 180. With the amount of running that they have to do so. Now you have these 300-pound grown men 300 pounds, 6'6" guys. Powerful people making all these moves on that ground. Of course that turf isn't going to hold up. It was bad. It didn't hold up at all. It was so bad.

Speaker 1:

That first quarter, I think during a play you could see three players slip Right Easily.

Speaker 2:

It was a tough watch. I'm not gonna lie to you, it was they managed like it was still a very good and exciting game anyway it was red, but again.

Speaker 2:

It was just a very rough start to start. The game, because of how that field is, did not hold up to what they were doing out there. So I am, I'm two and oh on the season so far for this week um, jc or oh and two. So we're gonna have to you going to have to make some moves to kind of catch up here with me here, and we will kind of go through the rest of the game, give our thoughts and give our predictions for it, and that'll be us to get through the rest of this podcast. So let's go ahead and get to business here.

Speaker 2:

So, first game we'll talk about the best game. It's a lie, but I figured I'd say it anyway, just to be funny. Pittsburgh going to Atlanta Most likely as of right now. The word is that Russell Wilson he had his calf injury kind of like re-inflamed and he wasn't able to do too much over the last two days. There's a chance that he may not even play in this game. It's like very likely Justin Fields will be the starter. How do you think this game is going to go, jace? It's like very likely Justin Fields will be the starter. How do you think this game is going to go, jace?

Speaker 2:

You're about to lose this game and we're going to Atlanta.

Speaker 1:

You're losing the game To play against Kirk Cousins and the rest of the— you don't need to tell me you're going to lose.

Speaker 2:

You're going to Atlanta here.

Speaker 1:

Yes, sir.

Speaker 2:

I'm going to pick Pittsburgh because of my homer. I have no other choice. I think if Justin Fields is able to go out there, I think he's going to be able to make enough plays to go out and win this game, especially with our defense. Our defense is going to be the healthiest it's going to be to start the year and I think TJ Watt is going to be able to get after Kirk Cousins, the statue back there, who can't get away from anybody. I think our defense is going to be able to get after him and make plays and make it easier on offense, to where Justin Fields doesn't have to be Superman. Or if somehow Russell Wilson does come out and play, he doesn't have to be Superman. Just go out there and make the easy plays.

Speaker 2:

We made the playoffs with terrible quarterback play last year that's if Kirk Cousins can stay upright long enough to make the throws down there their secondary is going to obliterate you.

Speaker 1:

You have no receivers. Jesse Bates To make the throws down there no, I'm talking about their secondary is going to obliterate you. You have no receivers. Jesse Bates and AJ Terrell are going to fucking decimate your receivers. Maybe I can say their front, atlanta's front seven, is kind of trash. I will give you that. Your quarterback will have some time in the pocket, but you don't have your one-two punch with Warren because he's not playing.

Speaker 2:

He is playing, he is playing.

Speaker 1:

Maybe you'll be okay, but it's going to be tough.

Speaker 2:

It's going to be a tough game, but I think our defense will make enough plays, Especially being in Atlanta.

Speaker 1:

I just think that team's so supremely talented everywhere that it's going to be a hard one.

Speaker 2:

This might be one of those games where my defense will have to be another worldly effort in order to win this game. I think our defense is going to be up for it.

Speaker 1:

That losing this game, but, it being the first game, your defense is going to be fresh, but your defense could just be on the field so much that they eventually just give out Maybe.

Speaker 2:

Again, I feel worse if we have to go chase after a quarterback that can run around. That's very true, but Kirk Cousins ain't that.

Speaker 1:

He's a statue back there, he's a statue, but you will have to chase down fucking B John Robinson, that's true, and he is going to outrun your guys.

Speaker 2:

That's true, but if he can't get anything coming, if he can't get anything rolling, past the line of scrimmage. If our defensive line can kind of do their jobs, then it'll make the job a lot easier.

Speaker 1:

It will, but again, that motherfucker is slippery.

Speaker 2:

I'm going Pittsburgh here.

Speaker 1:

That's perfectly fine Arizona.

Speaker 2:

At Buffalo I'm taking Arizona Right, I'm taking Arizona Right.

Speaker 1:

I kind of agree with you on that.

Speaker 2:

Kyler Murray is coming off playing a whole offseason where he was able to play and get going with his guys. Get Marvin Harrison in there. I feel like they have good offensive pieces. They have a defensive-minded head coach that's going to be able to fix the defense. The Arizona defense played well going into the end of last year, so if they're able to keep doing that and play pretty well on defense, I think kyler murray can make enough plays to beat this buffalo team okay.

Speaker 1:

No see, I'm a little bit the opposite. I'm looking at josh, how I'm like who the fuck you throwing to? You have to what don kinkade and Dawson Knox?

Speaker 2:

Donald Kincaid, Dawson Knox Don't.

Speaker 1:

I will stop podcasting.

Speaker 2:

You say his name, I won't say his name.

Speaker 1:

I don't think that team's good enough and that defense has no one. After last podcast where you told me Matt Milano was hurt, I went through their defense to actually look at their players. I don't know a single one of them motherfuckers. And they don't have their one DB that they traded. Yeah, Something white. Yeah, tredavious White yeah they traded him, so that defense is shaky and they've never had a good secondary. So it just sounds like Marvin Harris and Trey McBride would have both a hundred apiece.

Speaker 2:

I would like to think so. So I definitely want to go Arizona. Maybe Buffalo can kind of like maybe they can run the football a lot more and kind of play, keep away Maybe. They do have James Cook. He's a very talented guy.

Speaker 1:

And Josh Allen's going to do what he does. But that O-line got old, but that O-line changed. Yeah, the O-line, they kind of got a new, couple new pieces so it's a little hard to say that I'm going to.

Speaker 2:

I don't really foresee them being a playoff team that I'm not necessarily going to go with, because who knows how the AFC East is going to look?

Speaker 1:

True, I agree but I think AFC East is not great and I think Buffalo's gotten much worse. I think they're definitely worse than the Dolphins.

Speaker 2:

Again I say that, saying I didn't even put Buffalo in my playoff bracket when.

Speaker 1:

I heard the last podcast. I agree.

Speaker 2:

I don't feel very confident in this team.

Speaker 1:

I don't either, and I think this is a game they lose.

Speaker 2:

So you're going with Arizona as well.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Alright, that's that. Next game Tennessee at Chicago. You got Caleb Williams and the boys with all the great talent that they put around him in order for him to have a very good start. That defense for Chicago is very good, Tennessee coming in with Malik, not Malik Willis Will.

Speaker 1:

Levis.

Speaker 2:

Will Levis, and they got him a lot of talent.

Speaker 1:

They did. They got him a lot of talent and they did a little bit to that defense, got him a lot of talent.

Speaker 2:

They did, they got him a lot of talent and they did a little bit to that defense. They did add some pieces. They added the cornerback from Kansas City. Yeah, hold on, let me get that here. His name Snead, right? Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Legarius Snead.

Speaker 2:

Yep Legarius, snead Legarius.

Speaker 1:

Legarius.

Speaker 2:

Snead. They brought him in from Kansas City to be able to come in and be their cornerback number one. So that's a big get for them.

Speaker 1:

It is. It's just they need a cornerback number one, two and three.

Speaker 2:

They added Tyler Boyd.

Speaker 1:

That's a good one.

Speaker 2:

They added they obviously already had DeHop, but I don't think DeHop's going to play in this game. Was it Michael Williams? No, they added Calvin Ridley. Oh yeah, so that's going to be a big play threat down the field for them that's going to be able to play. So they do have good pieces at running back. They have Tony Pollard and Tajay Spears.

Speaker 1:

Tajay Spears is so good.

Speaker 2:

He is and I think Tony Pollard, if he's used right not necessarily as a number one back like workload back, I think.

Speaker 1:

Taze Spears is the workload back Because he was last year and he was really really good. I think Tony Pollard's a great two back.

Speaker 2:

So I do think they have a pretty good team. I just don't think. I just think this is in Chicago.

Speaker 1:

I think Chicago's going in with such a new sense of pride.

Speaker 2:

And I think that that crowd is going to be a ruckus Like they are going to be so excited they see a future.

Speaker 1:

There's a Chicago guy I follow on YouTube and he was like there's one thing we no longer say. There's three F words, and the number one is franchise quarterback. He was like Caleb Williams ain't a franchise quarterback until we've won our Super Bowl, then he's is franchise quarterback. He was like Caleb Williams ain't a franchise quarterback until we've won our Super Bowl, then he's a franchise quarterback.

Speaker 2:

I just feel like they've given him so much. He has so many weapons around him.

Speaker 1:

I think as a whole, chicago's excited to play yeah, in a way that I've never seen Chicago excited to do anything Right, even when they were decent.

Speaker 2:

They just have this thing set up to, where he should be able to start off quickly and be able to do this thing. I wouldn't be surprised if Tennessee won this game.

Speaker 1:

I wouldn't either. I just think there's a lot of things going Chicago's way. Going to Chicago is where it's hard. At that's where I think Tennessee might lose out. Right Is the atmosphere. So I'm going to go Chicago, okay.

Speaker 2:

Next game New England at.

Speaker 1:

Cincinnati. Check them out, even without T Higgins and potentially Jamar Chase. That motherfucker Joe Shiesty is different, because even at our worst, we're better than the Patriots.

Speaker 2:

Okay, I think the Patriots' defense will be good. I just don't think the offense for the Patriots are going to be good enough to really test Cincinnati in the way they need to be tested Again. I Cincinnati's weaknesses are secondary really like test Cincinnati in the way they need to be tested again. Cincinnati's weaknesses are secondary is.

Speaker 1:

Does New England have?

Speaker 2:

the pieces to be able to test that? No, I don't think so.

Speaker 1:

That's the thing. I think our secondary has actually gotten better. We look better in the in the preseason and we've looked better during practice.

Speaker 1:

So I actually think we might be okay in the secondary that we've done a lot of work to. We are no longer waiting three years for a guy to be ready. We shot Dax Hill. He is now a slot DB, Yep. And we picked up a safety yeah, you can't do it. So we got to get somebody else. And then Jordan Battle we are waiting on him, but we brought it back in Von Bell to help him, Yep. And then we signed Geno Stone Two good, solid safeties. They're middle-of-the-pack guys. They're going to do their job. And then we have a lot of young DBs. And then we have another one. I think his name is Josh Newton from TCU. Oh man, he was fucking great. And we have a linebacker too. I don't remember his name because I didn't see him as much. He was also really good too. We have a lot of rookies that I'm excited for. Mims is out.

Speaker 1:

You said linebacker.

Speaker 2:

Linebacker yeah.

Speaker 1:

Batchy, where's 46? 46. I can't remember his name, but he was good.

Speaker 2:

I'm not seeing a 46.

Speaker 1:

His number could be different after Final Cuts.

Speaker 2:

Let me just go through all the John Batchy, akeem Davis, gaither, mema Njometa.

Speaker 1:

That sounds like it. Yeah, I don't see that. I don't see that number at all.

Speaker 2:

I see 45. Is he a rookie? Yeah, maima Njometa, he's a 45.

Speaker 1:

Then it was him Rookie out of Wisconsin. Yes, it's him. He was fucking, he was everywhere. He had an interception and three tackles for loss. There you go. He's really good, but I think we're better than Patriots even at our worst. Even without Jamar Chase and T Higgins Okay, we still have better fucking receivers.

Speaker 2:

Andre Eliasovas and the one wide receiver.

Speaker 1:

It'd be Trent Irwin and the one dude we got out of fucking Charlie Pruitt from Purdue. He's back this year and I think he's supposed to be our next guy up. We got somebody else this year. Who was it?

Speaker 2:

It's Jermaine Burton, the wide receiver, out from Bama.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think he's going to be a big factor in this game too.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and Mike Gusecki also from tight end.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm excited to have him. He's a really good tight end that everybody forgot about because he's on the Patriots.

Speaker 2:

All right, Cincinnati for both of us there. Next game, Houston at Indianapolis.

Speaker 1:

Okay, next game.

Speaker 2:

Fuck, it's that boy. Cj Stroud man, he's going to come out and he's going to take care of business. I just don't think you have. Why am I forgetting the quarterback's name? Now for Indy. Yeah, richardson, anthony Richardson, I thought it said Trent Richardson, the running back from years ago.

Speaker 1:

Anthony.

Speaker 2:

Richardson, I just don't think him coming off that injury. He looked weird in the preseason.

Speaker 1:

Like he's throwing all over the place. It's not about injury. For me, the Colts are just not as good.

Speaker 2:

Here's the thing. I think the Colts are a good overall team.

Speaker 1:

Again, bro, it's not about that, it's not even about Richardson. I just think the Texans are that much better as a team.

Speaker 2:

Oh, Houston's just about, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, no question, they're just that much better.

Speaker 2:

And I think Houston just filled up a lot of holes on that team and I think CJ Stroud, going from year one to year two, is just ready to take that next step and he was already good before, the team didn't do shit besides add Stephon Diggs. Yeah, but they added the defensive end from Minnesota.

Speaker 1:

Hunter. Yeah, daniel Hunter, I know, but again, that is just.

Speaker 2:

An awesome pass rusher that they didn't have before they already had pass rushers Dude is adding insult to injury.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, true.

Speaker 2:

They didn't need to do this shit. Oh yeah, they're just adding more, adding more to the coverage Might as well.

Speaker 1:

You know we have the capital Might as well.

Speaker 2:

Add the running back obviously.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, Joe Mixon. Again, they're just adding insult to injury. Yeah, they already had a good running back. It's just all he does is run the ball. What do you want, motherfucker? I can receive and run the ball, yeah.

Speaker 2:

So like they're just doing shit to do shit, Houston's in that spot.

Speaker 1:

They're just ready to go. They're in such a good spot they don't care about picks.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, they traded their first round. Pick away.

Speaker 1:

Exactly, I think for Stephon Diggs. No, it was Daniel Hunter.

Speaker 2:

No, they traded that pick away to get multiple second round picks, something like that, and they went and used that to just no, because Daniel Hunter was a free agent.

Speaker 1:

Oh, they traded their first round pick for second round picks and I think a third, and they took that third and a fourth for Stephon Diggs.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, something like that. Yes, um, we'll just go to the next game here, because we both I think we both are in agreement that houston's going to take care of business against indianapolis.

Speaker 2:

Uh, jacksonville at miami miami I just I don't trust in jacksonville whatsoever, especially with them losing as many pieces as they did offensively. I just I don't trust it whatsoever. Miami, especially early on in the season, is a rollercoaster of a team that's able to. I mean, I don't mean rollercoaster as in like good and bad. I think offensively they're a firehouse Like. They just have a lot of firepower on offense, Wide receivers Tyree kill, great running backs. They have a very of firepower on offense Wide receivers Tyreek Hill, great running backs. They have a very fast-paced team and I think in September Miami is a very hard team to beat. It's when it gets cold outside when they start becoming a more questionable team. So I just don't think Jacksonville, going to Miami, has much of a shot to win this game.

Speaker 1:

I agree.

Speaker 2:

Oh, miami, they paid the corner Ramsey. They paid him. Now he's the highest paid corner in NFL again, so they paid him his money. They were feeling good, miami can't get enough. Pass rush on Trevor Lawrence. It might be a little bit of an issue because when Trevor Lawrence is able to stay upright and doesn't have to worry about getting sacked as much, he can make all the throws in the world. I just question not only can they protect him enough, upright and doesn't have to worry about getting sacked, as much he can make all the throws in the world. I just question not only can they protect him enough and can't like whoever he's going to, because I think outside of Christian Kirk like it's kind of iffy with everything.

Speaker 2:

And they did add a former bills wide receiver, the one that's all Gabe Davis Gabe.

Speaker 1:

Davis, he had that one great, the 50-50 eyes dude the one great playoff game and his name meant so much but he's done nothing since.

Speaker 2:

So they added him, but I don't think they have enough. I think Miami gets that win. I'm guessing you think so as well. All right, Next game Carolina going to New Orleans. Carolina think so as well. All right. Next game carolina going to new orleans.

Speaker 1:

Carolina coming off the bad year they had dude, let's be, for it's gonna be the saints new orleans, led by derrick carr.

Speaker 2:

They're a team that's really holding on way too long. I feel like new orleans should have like rebooted their team years ago, um, but it just seems like they keep trying to hold on and with their car, I just feel like they have a better overall team than what carolina does right now. I just don't think carolina has the defense gonna be able to stop new orleans. And I just again, what do you think carolina's gonna look like offensively better? That's the question better.

Speaker 1:

Uh it just they added offensive pieces let me say this they added offensive pieces. Let me say this they added offensive pieces but nothing to their O-line. They didn't improve their O-line, which was their biggest problem. I'd say their receivers were. They were fine, they were mediocre.

Speaker 2:

They added Deontay Johnson, a good receiver from Pittsburgh.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's good, and they added Xavier Leguette, who I think is also a big play guy. I agree, I think he's very talented. It's just they added nothing to their O-line, not a single thing. The O-line was very young last year, but nothing. They did nothing in the draft for the O-line. Then again they didn't have a first-round pick so they couldn't. But again they didn't have a first-round pick so they couldn't. But again they didn't pick an O-line until the fourth round. So I just I don't personally, I don't know.

Speaker 2:

I think they'll be better, but Bryce Young can't stand up, can't stay straight, he can't stay upright and it's not like he's going to be able to really run away from the pressure at all. And when he does get hit, it's going to look like he's a little child playing against a bunch of group men. So I just think it's just a lot of things going against him here. Will he look better? I do think he will look better, but is things going to be set up in a way that will help him succeed long term? Still, I don't think so. This is a terribly grand team. They got him a couple weapons. Hopefully he'll be able to stay upright and play better and not have to feel as like in the middle of a war zone type of thing. But it's just. I just think it's against them on this one, especially when New Orleans have in the past, which is what they do I just fear. I fear Bryce Young might have a really bad day.

Speaker 1:

I agree.

Speaker 2:

We're both going to New Orleans, there, minnesota going to the Giants, minnesota without their quarterback, jj McCarthy, who is going to be their starter.

Speaker 1:

This is a shit show of a game.

Speaker 2:

Andy Dalton's going to be the starter for them this game. Justin Jefferson is still that dude.

Speaker 1:

Wait for what?

Speaker 2:

For Minnesota.

Speaker 1:

Andy Dalton.

Speaker 2:

No, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. Sam Darnold those two are very similar to me and plus I was just looking at Andy Dalton on the Carolina screen because he's on their roster as their backup quarterback. Sam Darnold is going to be the starting quarterback for the Minnesota team. They still have everybody else. They still have Jay Jettas. They still have the wide receiver.

Speaker 1:

Jordan Addison.

Speaker 2:

And they still have the running back from Green Bay. Aaron Jones, why am I forgetting everybody's name right now? I've been good. I haven't had that bad of a time until just now. They have a lot of offensive pieces. The quarterback, Sam Darnold, can be up and down. Does he have the talent?

Speaker 1:

Minnesota's going to win this game right, and it's because that defense for the Giants is going to be fucking gassed by the second half.

Speaker 2:

Their defense is good.

Speaker 1:

It's very good. It's just that defense is going to be tired watching Daniel Jones just fucking sail his ball over Malik Nabors.

Speaker 2:

And that Minnesota defense is good, that Minnesota defense is going to be very good.

Speaker 1:

Again, it's the offense of the Giants that's the biggest problem. True, daniel Jones is ass, I agree. We had this talk on podcast. I think he's the worst quarterback in the NFL. I don't give a fuck what anybody says he is the worst quarterback in the NFL. You cannot convince me otherwise. Anybody that misses a wide open fucking receiver downfield only neighbors is wide the fuck open. This is preseason, bro. He was not playing once.

Speaker 2:

These are twos. Oh, his game against Houston Absolute. He was not playing once. These are twos. Oh, his game against Houston absolute disaster.

Speaker 1:

He had three picks or something like that, dude yes, against twos, bro, he was not playing starters at that point.

Speaker 2:

It was a disaster.

Speaker 1:

And he was sailing the ball over Malik Nabors' head.

Speaker 2:

And I could see that Malik Nabors says he's like fuck, four years of this. I don't think it's going to be four years. If he struggles this year, I think they're going to get rid of him.

Speaker 1:

But you know, no Dude, I'm worried about Malik Neighbors. That dude's going to come out like he's been through fucking World War II Like fuck. I had to go from Jane Daniels to this motherfucker. God damn bro. There's some rookies that have such a bad couple rookie years they don't want to resign with their team. Y'all have done nothing for me. I want to go anywhere else. Yeah, anywhere else, and the Giants are going to be that team Because y'all pay Daniel Jones $40 million a year.

Speaker 2:

Right $40 million $40 million.

Speaker 1:

He has two more years left. Yeah, mm, mm-mm-mm-mm-mm.

Speaker 2:

Mm-mm, I think. I just think the New York Giants defense can make this very interesting. If they don't get gas in the first, if they can make some big plays, it'll be interesting for the first half.

Speaker 1:

That's the thing It'll be interesting in the first half. Going into the second half, that defense is going to be whittled down more and more.

Speaker 2:

They don't have dbs like that.

Speaker 1:

Their front seven's really really good. They added brian burns and they have came on thibodeau and um dexter lawrence yes, they do. Uh, it's just they do have one good db again. One good db ain't enough for justin jefferson, you need two of them, motherfuckers just for just.

Speaker 2:

You're not wrong about that.

Speaker 1:

And then you have jordan dadison, who's going to run straight past you de Deontay Banks.

Speaker 2:

He's a pretty good corner. Deontay Banks is really good, very good young corner.

Speaker 1:

It's just again.

Speaker 2:

And Adory Jackson. He ain't bad either.

Speaker 1:

Again. You need to move both of them to the left side. Go watch Justin Jefferson. And on the right side there's just Jordan, straight up field. Yeah, not turning, not looking. He's running straight as hard as he can Because that's what he's really good at. He's really good at running post routes. He's going to run straight and then cut on you Going 17 miles an hour. Yes, it's going to be a rough game Because they're going to do that 35 times and they just need you to let that up 3 times, because both Jordan Addison and Justin Jefferson, if they get too deep downfield, it's a house call, it's a touchdown there ain't nothing you can do.

Speaker 1:

I've played the Vikings. It is not fun. Once Justin Jefferson's downfield, it's fucking over. It could be a fucking jump ball. He's going to get it.

Speaker 2:

And not to mention once they added Aaron Jones to this team. He's a very good pass catcher out of the backfield and he can run the ball very effectively too. I think running on this defense is going to be fucking impossible. It's going to be, yeah, it's going to be very hard.

Speaker 1:

Dexter Lawrence and Kayvon Thibodeau were on a perk last year by themselves. Now you have Brian. Burns back there he's just back there For funsies. Yeah, so it's going to be.

Speaker 2:

But he's very good at catching the ball in the backfield. But my only problem with picking the Minnesota Vikings is that I'm relying on Sam Darnold.

Speaker 1:

Yes, but I and that's a scary proposition for me I would rather rely on Sam Darnold than I would to rely on Daniel Jones. You're not wrong, because I think, daniel, I think Sam Darnold is more talented. Yeah, you're not wrong. Because I think Sam Donald is more talented. Yeah, sam Donald ain't fast, he can't run.

Speaker 2:

But he can throw the football downfield.

Speaker 1:

And I think Relatively accurately, bro. Fuck it. Justin Jefferson's down there somewhere. Daniel Jones is going to throw it, but miss by a lot You're not wrong. I know Sam Donald can sling that ball. I've watched him do it. He threw a ball to Garrett Wilson last year. That was just holy shit. Sometimes I remember you were a first round pick for a reason.

Speaker 1:

Because sometimes you can. Just it was beautifully thrown too, it was on the money and Garrett Wilson just touchdown. Now you got Justin Jefferson, who is the best in the NFL doing that. Jordan Addison is a big play machine. This is a game you bet on. Bet the over.

Speaker 2:

Bet the over.

Speaker 1:

Bet the over, no bet the under, not with those defenses. Bet the under.

Speaker 2:

Next game, las Vegas going to LA Chargers what you got.

Speaker 1:

Fucking disgusting.

Speaker 2:

I don't disagree with you. This game's hard. Fucking Gardner Minshew and the boys or J Herbo, j Herbo and who knows what else.

Speaker 1:

JK Dobbins.

Speaker 2:

JK Dobbins, but receiver-wise.

Speaker 1:

Ladd-McConkie.

Speaker 2:

Ladd-McConkie, yeah.

Speaker 1:

That's about it. Yeah, he can throw the ball over to Sean's later. Fun fact he's always hurt when Jay Herbo's hurt For the same amount of time every time. I find that fucking hilarious.

Speaker 2:

But you know what's? A funny tidbit I heard.

Speaker 1:

What the fuck man. Apparently old boy, quentin Johnston, has been showing up and playing well in practice so he can see the football.

Speaker 2:

People were saying he's been looking good. Oh okay, I don't believe it. I'll believe when I see it. I'm not that dude, do you?

Speaker 1:

remember when I said that he can't see the football. Yeah, if he's trying to catch a pass over his shoulder, it't, it's, it's not happening, but if he can look at it, he's gonna get it. Yeah, every single time. Um, so maybe he's on like slant routes.

Speaker 2:

Uh, make sure he can see the ball. They added hayden hurst to this team, so that's that's another weapon that they have true, um but why was he wise? We already mentioned let mcconkey quentinentin Johnson.

Speaker 1:

Mentally I'm thinking it's going to be the Raiders, because I feel like that defense is a little bit better.

Speaker 2:

That Raiders defense, I feel like, is going to be able to do a little bit more. That, honestly, is what I was thinking.

Speaker 1:

But logically, I'm feeling like I should pick the Chargers, because the Chargers are about to run the ball 50 times. They added a fullback to do that shit. That motherfucker, goddamn that motherfucker, give him a fucking Viking helmet Dude let him run straight.

Speaker 2:

Honestly, this one's hard. I'm not going to lie to you. This one's probably one of the hardest games we've picked so far. Let's see here Chargers are our three-point favorite, so they are a slight favorite in this game, and you get three points for being at home, Literally on a neutral field. This will be an even game 50-50.

Speaker 1:

You're going to pick the opposite of whatever I pick. No, I'll make it easy, I'm going to pick the Raiders.

Speaker 2:

I was going to pick the.

Speaker 1:

Raiders. Yeah, I feel like, logically, the Raiders are more sound and Devontae Adams kind of just throws me one way. I feel like Devontae Adams and of just throws me one way. I feel like Devontae Adams and Max Crosby can cause enough damage on offense and defense. That, and I feel like the defense of the Chargers is always sorry.

Speaker 2:

You have Derwin James and Joey Bosa who are both very good, but again they're both kind of getting old. All right, I'll make it interesting. You took my pick. I really want to pick the Raiders.

Speaker 1:

Dude, I know I don't know why the fuck you were saying this. You act like I don't know. You're about to pick the opposite team with me. I know what this one is. You're going to pick the opposite of whatever I pick, no matter what, because it's so close. Yes, I'm not fucking stupid dude.

Speaker 2:

I was going to pick the Raiders.

Speaker 1:

Dude, just wait until I pick, so you can pick the opposite team.

Speaker 2:

We've been picking the same this whole time.

Speaker 1:

That's why you waited this long Fucking waste of time.

Speaker 2:

Next game Denver, going to Seattle.

Speaker 1:

Ugh, seattle. I can't Nothing about. Denver says they are a good team. I can at least say Seattle has an elite secondary and enough receivers to where they can get the ball to somebody, and a great running back. Denver don't got shit.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and they're starting a rookie quarterback.

Speaker 1:

Who I feel like they're not even sure on.

Speaker 2:

No, they're sure. I totally can believe that. Why am I forgetting the coach's name?

Speaker 1:

Sean Payton.

Speaker 2:

Sean Payton. He loves Bo Nix to be his.

Speaker 1:

Drew.

Speaker 2:

Brees, that's his Drew Brees. So I totally believe he believes in him, wholeheartedly. So I totally believe it. And when it comes to pieces on offense, they don't have a lot. They do not. And I just think this— Especially trading, jared Judy. They do have Patrick Sertain, but this was— but not much else outside of that Patrick Sertain can't cover all three receivers.

Speaker 1:

Everybody forgets that team has three legit receivers.

Speaker 2:

Right.

Speaker 1:

So it's—he can't cover them all. They're going to let up plays and then they have Kenny Walker in the backfield and Kenny Walker's going to get his. So it's just Gino Smith needs to not don't. Wherever Patrick Sartain is at, don't throw over there, yeah, throw somewhere else. They have three receivers a decent, decent tight end and a good running back Dude just throw to wherever Patrick Sertain ain't.

Speaker 2:

I think Eugenio Smith can make good decisions. Seattle should win this game. Not to mention, I think Seattle's defense Is going to make this very hard for Denver's offense. Seattle's defense is going to be very good and they brought over the Ravens defensive coordinator To be their head coach.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they're about to be insane.

Speaker 2:

McDonald, I believe, is his last name.

Speaker 1:

They're about to be insane.

Speaker 2:

That defense is going to be crazy.

Speaker 1:

Ever since I saw Tariq Woolen, like three or four days ago, stop on a dime with Jackson Smith and Jigba. I'm talking now. It's impressive that JSN can do it, but JSN's a receiver right. I expect him to do that. The fact that Tariq Willen, at 6'3" 210, just stops and turns to bat this ball down.

Speaker 2:

Oh no, Very talented? No For sure.

Speaker 1:

Let it be known that T Higgins still got his on Tariq Willen's head, so you know just that.

Speaker 2:

There you go. Next game, we both pick Seattle. It's just an easy.

Speaker 1:

I think it's a pretty simple pick that would make sense.

Speaker 2:

Dallas going to Cleveland.

Speaker 1:

Ugh, cleveland, ugh, I don't Wait, wait, don't write that down. Don't write that down, don't you dare, don't lock me to that.

Speaker 2:

I'm locking in, I'm picking Dallas because Dallas likes to win games like these to make you think they are a contender.

Speaker 1:

And then it's late in the season when they start losing the game. The cleveland offense is so ass dude, I don't want to pick cleveland. They ain't got no run game. They, their receivers, are shaky.

Speaker 2:

Their receivers, actually, I think, are decent but they got jerry judy, they got amari cooper there's a third one Another receiver. They have another receiver. Ah, they got the tight end, david and Joku. They have three receivers. Who's the other receiver? I'm checking it. I'm checking it now I got you. I don't. I'm not a fucking Browns fan. Jerry Judy, elijah Moore, amari Cooper.

Speaker 1:

Oh, I feel like I got somebody bad. Nope, that motherfucker's at the hotel.

Speaker 2:

But David Njoku is pretty much another receiver.

Speaker 1:

If he won't get injured in two plays.

Speaker 2:

But they do have an injury on the offensive line. Jedrick Wills is out for this game. Who letters? So that was a little. I don't know.

Speaker 1:

I feel like they can win this game. Tom Brady is broadcasting this game.

Speaker 2:

Tom Brady is broadcasting this game, tom Brady is broadcasting this game.

Speaker 1:

It's crazy.

Speaker 2:

Just in case anybody forgot, he's a broadcaster now Did you hear about the rules he has Because he's applying to be a part owner of the Raiders?

Speaker 1:

he has rules, tom Brady yeah.

Speaker 2:

This has been for years, but they're just now really jumping on it. They're still going through it but since he has the application in as a broadcaster, he can't go into any of the team's facilities. He can't talk to any of the teams, any of them, directly. He can't be even on the Zooms between the broadcasting team and them, which is what you usually get because you're on the broadcast team. He doesn't have any of that access. He can't be a part of any of it. Because he's a part, because he could be a potential part owner for the raiders. So he can't do any of that which makes him good at his job, which is crazy. Because I'm like at that point, I'm like I don't know why you would still want to be the part owner of the raiders at that point, like if this job, if this new job you're being as a broadcaster, is going to pay you 35 37 million dollars a Go do that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, at least for a little bit you can go be a part. I don't think my mic's been plugged in this whole time.

Speaker 2:

No, it's good, You've been good. No, you've been good. I've been hearing you this whole time.

Speaker 1:

That was weird. If you're going to go, you can apply to be a part owner later. Kenny, yeah.

Speaker 2:

You can buy to be a part owner later, can't you? Yeah, you can buy in on a team anytime you want.

Speaker 1:

I would assume as much. Dude. Just wait, what does a couple years matter? The Raiders are still going to be.

Speaker 2:

I just think this makes your job much harder.

Speaker 1:

He could be trying to make it harder.

Speaker 2:

I don't think so.

Speaker 2:

I don't know, there's no way he would have known they were going to put these type of rules on him when he decided to, because he applied to be a partner with the Raiders, like five years ago, and then he just accepted the job to be the broadcaster for Fox, like last year. So I think, all that being the case, I don't think he planned on making his job this much harder. But I just don't know why he would hold on to his like. Why keep this one going? I just think you know, pick one, and I think right now, being the broadcast is going to pay you a lot more money and I think he'll be very good at it. But I just think why just make your job harder and not be able to get after anybody? Maybe he could talk to he can literally call anybody in the league if he wants to, like he can get the information he needs. I just don't know how he's going through. He's going to have to jump through hoops to do his job as well as he would like to.

Speaker 1:

I'm guessing, it seems unnecessary.

Speaker 2:

It does, it does, it does. So Dallas or Cleveland. We've taken the long road to give you a chance to pick between the two teams. I pick Dallas.

Speaker 1:

We had to get back to this at some point.

Speaker 2:

I don't, I guess dallas yeah you were to lock it in dallas yeah good, okay, dallas, it is for jace. Um. Next game washington going to tampa bay tampa bay okay, um, jace is gonna lock in tampa bay. I think tampa bay obviously is the more Tampa Bay.

Speaker 1:

Okay, jason's going to lock in Tampa Bay, I think, tampa Bay obviously is the more structured right team.

Speaker 2:

They have a quarterback, I don't know. I think Washington has like they can be a little feisty, and I think their defense is enough pieces to really make it a game. Though I'm picking Tampa Bay, especially since it's in Tampa Bay. I think Baker, coming back with this team, he's proven that he can be their guy. They have a bunch of pieces on offense. I just feel like they have enough to win this game. I think defensively they still have a bunch of very talented guys. So I'm going to Tampa Bay on this one as well. Alright, we got two more games left. Let's go through them. La Rams going to Detroit this game's going to be tough. Sunday night. Sunday night football game when are we going?

Speaker 1:

I'm going Detroit, Okay. Okay. Now I want to go to Detroit, but I feel like I should go to the Rams because I feel like it's a good game to split. This is a good game to split. No, I totally agree with you I feel like Matthew Stafford last year played real fucking well at home.

Speaker 2:

He played great. No, this is going to Detroit.

Speaker 1:

Like I said at home oh fuck, you think they're not going to Detroit. Like I said at home, oh fuck, you think they're not going to give him a standing ovation when he walks in that bitch.

Speaker 2:

They're going to clap for him like he's their quarterback. Because he is. I think they'll be more ruckus for their own team Because they just made the NCAA championship game the other year before.

Speaker 1:

Yes, and they did, and they clapped when he went to their stadium. They clapped for him, they did. He got a standing ovation. I think he's going to get one every time he walks in that building okay and I think he'll get just as much love as he will hate, because I believe the city of Detroit loves him and I think he's going to feel at home there yeah, but I think they also love Jared Goff a lot, and I feel like they're going to want to show him their love too.

Speaker 1:

I know, but again, Matthew Stafford will get a statue when he retires. They'll give him a statue. They should. He'd give everything to them. Are there some of the Detroit fans excited he won a Super Bowl? They were excited, they were happy for him. They weren't even sad. They were sad that he was getting traded, but they felt it was. They were happy he was going somewhere else.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so he had an opportunity to win. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And he did.

Speaker 2:

I think Detroit fans were understanding of their situation at that point and realized that Stafford wanted to go have a chance to go win a Super Bowl somewhere and they were cool with that. Eminem was cool with it.

Speaker 1:

So I think everybody should be, so you picking the Rams yeah, yeah, Okay then. Puka and them boys. They bowed it.

Speaker 2:

I just think Detroit, in their own house, I feel like with those fans behind them, they did add pieces to the secondary to help alleviate that issue. And I just think the Rams, with everything offensively that they still have, they were able to keep their office coordinator because he didn't get a job anywhere else, because he just he didn't like to, he didn't want to get the washington job because that was that felt like a iffy thing. I just think they have so much continuity that detroit in detroit just be able to start the season off very quickly and have a good win against the rams um at home. So last not least, we got the New York Jets going to the San Francisco 49ers.

Speaker 1:

Niners.

Speaker 2:

You're going Niners huh, week one. Aaron Rodgers back healthy, apparently San Fran's a very good defense. And then you have San Fran without really having Brandon Ayuk for most of the offseason, signed his contract very late, they didn't have their best Tackle. Yeah, trent Williams, he came in very late Because they got with him very late on that. I think those are two pieces, dude. I think Trent Williams would be fine.

Speaker 1:

I block that. I think those are two pieces, dude. I think Trent Williams would be fine. I block, I block and push man. Come on, dude.

Speaker 2:

That Sanford defense is still good. Yeah, I was about to overthink it. What the fuck, brent and I, you guys understand.

Speaker 1:

But Trent Williams in the trenches when a D lineman or an O lineman looks at the teammate like hey, what's the play? I don't know, just fucking block. Or I don't know, do blitz, I don't fucking know.

Speaker 2:

I think their offense is a little more intricate than that, but yes, but not what fucking Trenton Williams does.

Speaker 1:

If it's a screen, you'll know. If it's not, you'll know. He's been doing this for what he was drafted in? 2012?, 2011? You know what he's about to do? The same shit he's done for his fucking Hall of Fame career.

Speaker 2:

And this is where I was about to say it, because I was like, oh, maybe the Jets with Aaron Rodgers will be able to make enough plays offensively. But then I was thinking about the fact that they still have Nick Bosa sitting out there on the outside.

Speaker 1:

Nick Bosa, they have Fred Warner, they have the other linebacker.

Speaker 2:

Fajoko, Fajoko their safety.

Speaker 1:

Dude, they have so on that team and that team's a well-oiled machine and Aaron.

Speaker 2:

Rodgers is not going to be able to sit back there and make plays under the gun.

Speaker 1:

Not the same way Purdy will be able to. He's going to throw the football away.

Speaker 2:

He is and I just think and with Purdy I do think he's going to take the next step and become a little bit better, and I just say yeah, no, you're right, and I think, as good as that Jets defense is very good, I just think that offensive coordinator obviously Shanahan being their head coach is going to be able to put that offense in spots where they're going to be able to make plays and have to make the Giants win.

Speaker 1:

The offensive mind and talent of Kyle Shanahan will scheme this team to perfection.

Speaker 2:

Yep.

Speaker 1:

And he's just going to carve chunks out of that Jets defense until they can't do it no more.

Speaker 2:

Right.

Speaker 1:

All they need is one.

Speaker 2:

I don't think it's going to be explosive. I think it's really, really going to have to turn their way down the field.

Speaker 1:

I don't think we see more than fucking 50 points in this game.

Speaker 2:

The over-under is 43.5. Yes, oddsmakers believe, makers believe, like trust that they're like hey, I, I love scoring game this team.

Speaker 1:

This game could be won by a field goal. That's what I'm looking at. I'm looking at the same game I watched today with michigan state 27 24. That's the kind of game I'm looking at today. Uh, that beats us over under, though, by the way.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, true, but again but yeah, I do, I do think with both these defenses I think San Fran is.

Speaker 1:

It's going to be a slugfest.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Checkdown. After checkdown, maybe a couple big plays here and there, but I'm going San Fran.

Speaker 2:

I'll go San Fran I'm about to overthink it and go with the Jets, but I'm going to try to play smart on this one. I'm going to try to play just like I've been betting take not too many chances, keep taking my small wins when I can, and that sounds like a plan for me. So that is all the NFL games that we have to go through. I'm very excited for tomorrow. We've already gotten a little taste with the first two games.
