Welcome everyone. This is Russ Scalzo. Chronicles of the End Times. Thank you so much for being with me today, listening to the debate and comments about it and thinking about the future of America and what that might be. Will we continue the trend to a one world government and join the rest of the world in a digital currency and, more importantly, will we fall into the trap of losing our free speech? The same thing is happening in England, where native, born English citizens are being thrown in jail for disagreeing with the government, and what's happening in Brazil, where people's houses are being confiscated and families thrown into prison  labeled dissidents talking on podcasts and rallies about the government in Brazil.

01:01

It's the same type of totalitarian government that's in China and in Russia and Iran and many other places around the world. It's a darkness that's creeping in all around us and we remember what happened back in 2020 in Canada with the truckers. They lost their bank accounts. The government came against them full on because they dared to question the COVID vaccination. In England, they don't have a constitution. The people don't have that to fall back on. I heard one woman from England say the Americans should be on their knees thanking God because they have a constitution. But what if that gets warped and changed? And I believe that's all part of the end-time scenario, because when the Antichrist rises, it will be a political regime based on subordination of the individual to the state and to strict control of all aspects of their lives. It's a sign of things to come right here in the United States. It's amazing how God gives us the privilege to make our own mistakes, to follow him or to not follow him, to listen to his word or to question it or to dismiss it. The things that are happening around us, as we've talked about many times, are contrary to the word of God. No matter how you feel about the political system and what we're going through right now, as a Christian, if you are someone who reads the Word of God and the Holy Spirit is preeminent in your life, if that's the case, then you have to vote for the platform that is the least displeasing to the Lord Jesus Christ. That decision is yours.

02:42

I will say this, and it is, I believe, the future of the United States is in the hands of the Church of Jesus Christ. If we are going to at least try to please the Lord, God Creator of all things, and ask for His blessing, we need to know what he would want. How do we know that? You might say, Oh well, I got a feeling, or I believe, all those ideas will not cut it. We open the Bible up and we read it, and the Word of God will dictate to us which way we should go. We need to lie down everything else, all our wants, all our so-called desires and whatever we feel are our rights. We need to lay them down at the altar of sacrifice and ask the Lord Jesus Christ, what do you want me to do? That's called lordship.

Let's look at 2 Chronicles, chapter 34. Those of you who enjoy digging into your Bible, you're going to recognize this. We're going to read about King Josiah and his faithfulness to the Lord and what really lit a fire under him to get closer to God and to lead his people in the way that God would have them go. I'm going to pick it up in verse 14.

03:58

While they were bringing out the money that had been taken into the temple of the Lord, Hilkiah the priest found the book of the law of the Lord that had been given through Moses. Hilkiah said to Shaphan the secretary I have found the book of the law in the temple of the Lord. He gave it to Shaphan. Then Shaphan took the book to the king and reported to him. Your officials are doing everything that has been commanded to them. They have paid out the money that was in the temple of the Lord and have entrusted it to the supervisors and workers. Then Shaphan the secretary informed the king Hilkiah the priest has given me a book and Shaphan read it in the presence of the king. When the king heard the words of the law, he tore his clothes. He gave these orders to Hilkiah go and inquire of the Lord for me and for the remnant in Israel and Judah about what is written in this book that has been found.

04:57

Great is the Lord's anger that is poured out on us because our fathers have not kept the word of the Lord. They have not acted in accordance with all that is written in this book. I believe this is the missing ingredient for many Christians today. It's a theme and I know I've been pounding on it for a long time. But if you don't know what the Bible says, if you don't know what pleases the Lord, how can we get blessing? How can we expect to be blessed If God is shouting from the mountains and we can't hear him? How can we expect to be blessed?

05:34

Josiah heard the word of God, and he was cut to the core because he did not know these things were written here. He was the king of Israel, but the book had been lost in the temple because the kings before him did evil in the sight of God. They had walked away from the word of God and created their own gods. Manasseh eventually repented, but that was late in his life. Josiah's heart was in the right place, like our hearts might be in the right place, thinking about God, that we want to please him. But if we don't know what pleases him and what displeases him, we're lost. And Josiah was the king of Israel, and he didn't know that. And when he heard it he feared for the word cut him right to his heart, for he desperately wanted to please God.

06:21

We jump to the New Testament. We're going to look at Hebrews, chapter 1. Let's pick it up in verse 1. In the past, God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things and through him he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. Wow, I love that scripture.

06:59

So once again, we get the reference to the word of God. So now the Holy Spirit is given to us by the Father through Jesus Christ, that Holy Spirit given to us to lead us, to guide us, to comfort us. He is underlying everything that has already been written. He's bringing it to our mind. Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit so we would have him with us always. So, we have an even greater advantage than those who lived in the Old Testament. We have the complete word of God and we have the Holy Spirit given to us by the Father.

07:40

Although we are living in grace and God is merciful and kind to us more so than at any time in history, there is a greater responsibility. To whom much is given, much is required. The United States of America is different from any other place in the world, than any other nation in history. We are a free country with a democracy, with the ability to choose our destiny. We do not have kings. We have elected officials. Therefore, we have the responsibility of voting. We shouldn't follow some superstar athlete or actor or someone else in prominence telling us how we should vote, but we have the responsibility before God to not only do due diligence in the natural but also in the supernatural.

08:29

Things will not get any easier. God is doing this on purpose. It's the dividing line who will serve him and who will not? Many who call themselves Christians today will face the crossroads soon to decide if they're going to stand and take on the yoke of Jesus Christ and walk with him and not be ashamed of the cross, but to pick up their cross and follow him, to be associated with him. That is the aim of the Lord, God Almighty. For Jesus said, think not that I came to bring peace to the world, but division. He's looking for followers, he's looking for disciples, and with that comes a cost. But also with that comes an eternal blessing that we can't even fathom right now. The reward that he has for those who decide to follow him 100% is beyond our imagination. An eternity with God himself, never-ending joy, new adventures that boggle the mind. We struggle to imagine what they would be. So, yes, there will be a price. There may be a sacrifice as well, but it will pale in comparison. Let's end with this scripture today: Romans 8, 18. Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later, for all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are.

Let’s keep our eyes on Jesus. He's the author and finisher of our faith. He has great things in store.
