Ava Lian is a Pre-K through 5th grade art teacher at P.S.32 in Brooklyn, NY.
In this episode of Candidly, Caitlyn, I spoke to Ava about her experience teaching art in NYC public schools, and during the pandemic. We talked about #DefundthePolice and the need for re-allocation of NYPD funds back into education. We highlighted what the arts can bring to a students education and emotional/social wellbeing, as well as the need for Trauma-informed teaching!
