2024 Ep. 272 Remember and Forget: The Fear that Frees your Future

This message is from chapter 6 of Deuteronomy. This passage is all about
“The Shema.” Jesus was asked, “Teacher, which is the great
commandment in the Law?” In Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus quotes “The
Shema” of the Old Testament as the timeless commandment of love. If you
will remember this one commandment, this commandment can heal
everything in your life: past, present, and future.
If you are hurting go back to love, nothing heals like love. All of us can
remember all the ways we haven’t been loved perfectly or we can
remember the One who is perfect love. Let’s not focus on what we
remember; let’s focus on what God remembers. God remembers His
covenant and forgets our sin.
If God forgets our sin, why do we remember it? It is time to remember what
God remembers and forget what God forgets. Don’t let the past keep you in
pain. The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus is about your forgiveness,
freedom, and future.
