Brooke USA On The Road

About Hope's Legacy

with Host Julianne Neal

About Hope’s Legacy is an exciting preview of Films For a Cause, the online fundraising movie event. This third episode of Brooke USA On The Road includes a delightful chat with Douglas B. Maddox, the director and producer on the making of the movie which deals with Lizzie’s strong emotions after the death of her grandmother; her obligations to the farm and her horses, and an upcoming three-day eventing competition. Lizzy must learn to stand on her own two feet but with Legacy, her horse, by her side she can do it. The movie premiere on the Equus Film Channel serves as a fundraiser for Brooke USA and kicks-off The Power of ONE, a one year campaign to raise $1 million for Brooke USA, recognizing that one donation can change the life of an equine, a person or a community. Movie tickets, $25 and $150, are available to purchase at www.BrookeUSA.org.

About Hope's Legacy kicks off with Brooke USA board member Jim Wolf and USEA (United States Eventing Association) president Max Corcoran as they share stories about their lives in the eventing world, including attending Olympic Games and other leading competitions, working together for many years, and partnering on the premiere of Hope’s Legacy to raise funds for the mission of Brooke USA and increase awareness for the plight of working equines.

The mission of Brooke USA is to significantly improve the welfare of working horses, donkeys and mules and the people they serve throughout Asia, Africa, the Middle East, the Americas and the Caribbean by raising funds and responsibly directing them to the areas of greatest need. Brooke USA accomplishes this through a holistic approach to funding which includes capacity building, sustainability programming, female empowerment and international advocacy. Brooke USA connects private philanthropists with their passion for helping relieve the suffering of working equines and their owners. Brooke USA raises funds to support a wide variety of programs for working horses, donkeys and mules to help them become (and remain) healthy and happy, now and in the long-term, which also benefits the poor families who depend on those animals to help them earn a living.
