Redefining the Good Life
Redefining the Good Life
EP 42: Clean pain vs dirty pain (reissue)
Hey friends, today I'm republishing one of my all-time most popular episodes: clean pain vs dirt pain (and why it matters that you understand this distinction)!
I'd recommend that you listen to this again even if you've heard it the first time around — this stuff always bears repeating 🥰
----
Life is always going to be 50/50. That means half the time we'll feel good, half the time... it's going to SUCK.
And guess what? Doing the work on yourself does NOT mean you’re going to be happy and fulfilled all the time!
The true mark of becoming emotionally responsible is in HOW we handle the shitty feelings when life doesn’t go according to plan.
😫 When you don't get the promotion you wanted...
😫 When you have another screaming match with your partner...
😫 When you get your heart broken...
😫 When you don't hit your financial goals...
Learning to lean into your human feelings and experiencing the clean pain will make you stronger, more resilient.
But when you write a shitty story about what happened, you get into dirty pain and you will become afraid of taking action with confidence in the future.
And when you don’t take action confidently, you don't move closer to your goals and dreams. As simple as that.
Tune in to find out just how sneakily this may be showing up for you and how to put a stop to all that!

PS. Even though what I say may resonate for you, I guarantee that your own thoughts and reactions are still invisible to you for the most part. That means they’re holding you back despite your best intentions.
If you’re ready to have your own coach on your side to lovingly point out all the subtle ways in which you’re gaslighting yourself and quitting on your dreams, reach out to me at contact@theomnivorist.com. I’ve got a few 1:1 spots coming up!
