Huh, we're five percenters.

Speaker 1

We're in the top five percent do it on behalf of your business yeah, yeah sure you get advertising right there, yeah, yeah, five top five percent, if you want your company in. Well, within reason, within reason, speaking of companies, hey, seven bridges sauce, yummy stuff, man thanks no I really, I really do love, I love that sauce so much and I was thinking I go ahead, sorry no, no, I was just saying I love that sauce so much. I mean, yeah, that's all, that's all I was gonna say there'll be more heading your way soon.

Speaker 2

I put some on some leftover pizza today oh, I haven't tried that yet. Cold, some cold leftover, home running frozen pizza. So that was good. I enjoyed that. Um and uh. I think that's the only thing I put it on recently, but I was thinking. You know, I was trying. I was actually. I was working from from home today and I was talking out loud during slow moments of how to do the uh, the voiceover for the uh, the seven bridges, yum yum sauce slam of the week oh make it sound like an old episode of raw yeah, that'd be cool, like the old jbc kaboom box, kaboom of the week yes

Speaker 1

uh, you know, I like, I like my yum yum sauce over vegetables and actually, like mike, you got me hooked on to this. Now I'm burgers, I eat them on burgers. Now, that's good on burgers, it is really good on burgers.

Speaker 3

I still haven't done it on burgers yet.

Speaker 1

I put it on damn near everything.

Speaker 2

Roger, what do you usually get when you order Chinese food? Isn't this like the third episode, where it goes into just a spiral about food?

Speaker 1

About food yeah.

Speaker 2

Yeah, food about food yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1

What do I order when I order?

Speaker 2

chinese food. Yeah, that's what I was. That was a question. But what do I order?

Speaker 3

well, the when you order. How hard? Yes, is this? The back and forth game is named chinese food.

Speaker 1

Um well, depends. Normally I just order like fried rice, and the yum yum sauce is very good on fried rice, chicken fried rice yeah, yeah, are you a pot sticker man? You like pots oh yeah, I do, I love yeah, try some of the yum yum sauce, okay, okay, yeah, I'll try that. Yeah, uh, I love it on, I love on chicken, I love it on fried rice. It's so good, so good yeah, good stuff we know it's. Yeah, I do need more because I'm almost out.

Speaker 2

I'm almost out. I'm almost out too. My bottle's almost empty too.

Speaker 3

I'll see if I can find a guy.

Speaker 1

Okay, all right. Well, listeners, you can also taste the yumminess Rainbow. Oh, sorry, I was about to go there, but I don't think I can. You want to taste the rainbow?

Speaker 2

Do you want?

Speaker 3

to be sponsored by them too, because I eat a lot of that stuff.

Speaker 1

There we go. You, because I love that stuff. There we go. You can go to the link in our show notes and get your own bottle of Seven Bridges Yum Yum Sauce. It is very easy. Or just send me a DM and I'll get it to you for a lot cheaper than Amazon does or that, or that. I guess you can do that, just save money and screw Jeff Bezos. Reach out to Phil and he'll get you a cheaper bottle via DM.

Speaker 2

Fell off a truck. Weird, I got a truck. Guy too, yeah, I got a gravity guy too.

Speaker 3

It's the one guy I don't have a home.

Speaker 2

I got everything you need. I fell off a truck. I got a truck guy, I got a sauce guy, I got a gravity guy.

Speaker 1

If my dad wasn't retired, I'd still have a postman in my pocket too, but unfortunately he's retired's retired, I do have an icebreaker for us before we get into all the shenanigans of the show, although I think we're kind of past that point. So here is my icebreaker Shonanigans, shonanigans. If you could live in any video game world for a week, which world would you choose, and why? This one's easy for me If you want me to go first.

Speaker 2

Yeah, you go first because we got to think about it, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1

So this one's Animal Crossing man, If I could live in Animal Crossing, oh my gosh what amazing you already do. What you already do.

Speaker 2

Yeah, because every time somebody does it Do you pay your mortgage every month?

Speaker 1

Yeah Well. Do you pay your mortgage every month? Yeah, hold on, not with bells. Have you tried? I actually haven't. I haven't tried. Actually, that's a good call-out. I just want to go fishing, you can do that.

Speaker 3

You live in.

Speaker 1

Wisconsin. No, but it's an tournament for bells.

Speaker 3

You can sell fish.

Speaker 1

I suppose I could. I want to collect apples and sell those you can do that.

Speaker 3

I suppose I could. I want to collect apples and sell those.

Speaker 1

You can do that. Oh my God, I think I do live in Animal Crossing. I think you're right. Animal Crossing is just the real world with anamorphic creatures. I want to talk to anamorphic creatures and say hello to them.

Speaker 3

Go to Chuck E Cheese when you're stoned man.

Speaker 1

Oh, you're not wrong, and we have one in Appleton, you're not wrong. Oh man, I could do this. I could live Animal Crossing for the rest of my life. And also, every time somebody talks to you, all you really hear is just yeah, that's true, that is true, that is a true statement. Okay, well, animal Crossing. Apparently I live already in this world, but that's the world that I would live in, because also, it seems like the least likely to like die in. I wouldn't die in animal crossing can die here in real life, though yeah, but if you accidentally reset your game, you get get yelled at.

Speaker 1

That's true. That's true, that's a good point. Anyway, that's my pick. Who wants to go next? I was able to pick somebody, but you guys can choose who goes next.

Speaker 2

I'm still thinking so, unless, Phil, if you're still thinking, I'll just wing it.

Speaker 3

With the week that I've had. I'd like to live in the world of.

Speaker 1

Silent Hill. That's a scary world to live in, phil yeah, dude, I'm probably not gonna make it. Then I'm not gonna deal with all the bullshit I've dealt with this week uh, I, I'm okay, good, I, I, I don't know how to, I don't know what to even say to that. Um sorry, I'm sorry, it's okay. It's not your fault, I know, it's not my fault, but if that is, I know where you live, I know you do.

Speaker 1

Actually the world's largest potato masher. That's right, I know. I can't believe you got so mad at me about that.

Speaker 4

I didn't even know. Dude, you gotta tell people.

Speaker 1

I don't know it even exists, how am I supposed to know it exists? I don't go to that. I don't. I don't go to the world largest potato masher in my backyard. Why?

Speaker 2

would, would I do that?

Speaker 1

No.

Speaker 3

Why there's probably apple trees there that you could pick apples from and then sell on a roadside stand and you could live in your Animal Crossing fantasy. That's true. They probably bought the potato masher from Tom Nook.

Speaker 1

They probably did. Actually, that does seem like something you put in your front yard from Tom Nook's thing.

Speaker 3

I had a Godzilla statue in my front yard.

Speaker 2

Right, Phil, honestly this might not be a good idea to keep trying to convince him, because next thing we know his neighbor is going to be looking out the window. See that guy's digging holes in the lawn again.

Speaker 3

Just out there watching trees with a shovel.

Speaker 1

That's right. I want to find those buried bells. I know I am, I know I am.

Speaker 3

We've got so many vegetables planted in our garden. We've got this walking path that goes through our backyard. Once harvest season rolls around, we're debating opening a vegetable stand in the front yard, so there's no way in hell we're gonna be able to use all these vegetables that are there and just sit there and like offer vegetables to people that are walking by and riding by and jogging by I got a sunflower.

Speaker 2

What I'm not joking either you have one sunflower I have a sunflower that I and I uh wrapped up in a wet paper towel in like april okay, and then I planted in a big old pot and it's big, it's it's it's bloom, it's looking pretty healthy.

Speaker 1

I'm very it's going great.

Speaker 2

I can't wait to destroy it and then eat the seeds.

Speaker 1

Oh, yeah, yeah, you know, I, I read, I read this thing about sunflowers and they're like the most, uh, nicest plants, cause they let other plant, other sunflower plants. You know they share the share, the nutrients in the ground.

Speaker 2

How about that?

Speaker 1

Yeah, how about that, yeah, and then you're going to eat it.

Speaker 2

So I mean, I love sunflower seeds man, I do too.

Speaker 1

I love them for the best.

Speaker 2

I gotta be careful because yeah, absolutely, sunflower seeds in an empty water bottle or something. Hell yeah, we gotta go on a road trip sponsored by planters or something yeah, that's right david or goliath yeah, I do like the david sunflower seeds. They got some good flavors. I like the bacon ranch.

Speaker 1

Oh, I haven't had that one. I'm a sucker for barbecue as well barbecue's not bad yeah man, I didn't. I'm, I'm not privy to all this world of different flavors.

Speaker 3

I just know you also don't realize that you can harvest apples and sell them.

Speaker 1

Nobody's too shocked, you don't know there's different flavors of sunflower seeds. That's true. Wait, is there? Are there? I don't know I was going to make up some joke about something so obvious, but I can't even think of it.

Speaker 3

There's different flavored corn nuts too, roger, no way.

Speaker 1

No, way no way.

Speaker 3

I currently have a bag of loaded taco ones upstairs.

Speaker 1

Okay, now that I didn't know.

Speaker 3

I only know ranch and I know barbecue and I know regular, there's also elote ones that are super good. I highly recommend the elote corn nuts. What does that taste like?

Speaker 1

Like elote what's elote?

Speaker 3

taste like, like, like a lote. What's a lote? Tastes like it's. Essentially we'll call it grilled corn on the cob, slathered in mayonnaise with some hot sauce and queso fresco on it oh, we call that street street corn yeah, it's mexican street corn, it's a lote, is the name okay okay, I do have to try that.

Speaker 2

I would love to try that one we that now is that regional, because over here we have no there's regional. This is a real question it's a real question, because they have different flavors in different areas that's why I don't have it that's alright, that's what I'm asking. I go to Iowa for my Mountain Dew Code Red Zero, because they don't sell it in illinois is there a reason?

Speaker 1

is there a law?

Speaker 2

against.

Speaker 3

I have no idea no, they just tend to do flavors that are more region specific for certain things or that sell in certain markets, and they pull them out of markets that don't sell. From what I understand, it's kind of like the beer that I drink, this lovely beer right here, this michael of golden light. You can't get it in illinois. You can get it in Wisconsin, though Part of Wisconsin, can you? I've never seen that and it was created by Anheuser-Busch to combat how high the sales of Coors Light were in this region, and so Anheuser-Busch was like we need an answer to what Coors is doing, and that's what they came up with.

Speaker 4

Okay.

Speaker 2

And for Corn Nuts out here we have up dog flavored why are you laughing?

Speaker 1

is that a joke? I can't. Is that real? What's up a dog? What's up nothing? What's up with you? I can't believe it happened. Oh my god I can't believe that.

Speaker 2

What's up with you, holmes? I didn't think it was going to work. I didn't think it was going to work, I was thinking Chicago.

Speaker 1

I was thinking it was like maybe mustard and onions, I don't know.

Speaker 3

Roger's the first person over the age of six to fall for that.

Speaker 1

Yeah, well, yeah, this is one of these episodes you can use it on your kids.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I'm going that, yeah, well, yeah, this is one of these episodes you can use it on your kids.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I'm going to. Anyway, Mike, did you tell what world you want to live in? A dog? I was going to say it seems like you're happy in the world you're in right now, mike.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I'm on cloud nine right now. Question am I allowed to bring items from that world back into the real world?

Speaker 1

No.

Speaker 2

Okay, well then that's easy. It's definitely going to be Tomb Raider, because even if it's a 0.11111118% chance that I'll be able to woo Lara Croft, it's still more of a percentage chance that I have in the real world.

Speaker 3

Booming Angelina Jolie.

Speaker 2

Yeah, that's not going to happen. No, I value my health. I don't need any microscopic organisms getting into this system.

Speaker 1

That's what I would do.

Speaker 3

I mean, you wouldn't go on any adventures, you'd just be like hey, I'd stalk her Bubba's found, ed Kodges in the fridge two days later and Mike's walking around carrying a tray of tea no, it would be a healthy stalking.

Speaker 2

I'd be like hey, I'm stuck in this world and I'd probably screw it up too, because I'd be so awkward. So listen, I'm only here for seven days, that's right and after that I'm gone, I'm gone so well, that's my, yeah, that's my answer. I'm from another dimension, and then there we go.

Speaker 3

Now, now, now there's the interest, right there and then she's gonna try to raid your tomb that's yeah, that's that.

Speaker 2

I'd probably chicken out, though, uh, if yeah, so that's, that's all I got. I can't I couldn't think of anything I could, maybe the world of dragon ball, like, oh dragon ball games, even though that's more that's kind of a cheat because it's an anime, because then I can gather the dragon balls and then I could have my wish, and then I can wish to be transported to the world of Tomb Raider. So you know it's a roundabout way of doing things, but you know the end result is still the same.

Speaker 1

You could have just picked that, but no.

Speaker 2

You had to go the long route. I mean sure if you want to do it the easy way.

Speaker 3

It's like the difference between driving someplace and flying someplace. Mike took the long way to get there, you got to see all the scenery, as opposed to just vamping there.

Speaker 1

That's a scenic route, that's right. Do you know what I had to do to get here, Lara?

Speaker 2

Croft. Do you know what I had to go through? And there we go. There's my backstory.

Speaker 3

I had seven days to collect all the Dragon Balls. I vamped here, I've got 12 hours here.

Speaker 2

Lara, that's right. That increases my odds.

Speaker 1

See, I'm playing a numbers game that increases my odds. See, I'm playing, that's right, that's right my odds from 0.1 to 1.0

Speaker 1

yeah, you gotta make yourself interesting, for sure, yeah yeah uh, okay, well, that was a fun game. I did not expect it to go the way it did. But uh, all right, mike, you have a game. What do you expect from this podcast? I don't know. I really I don't know. I really you didn't expect it to go that way. I, I, I don't know what to expect anymore we've been doing this for how many?

Speaker 1

years and I don't. I still don't know what we're gonna be talking about each week. So, or next, or next, yeah, yeah, uh, mike. Well, I do know what's coming up. Next we have a back and forth game, that's what you think is coming up next. Yeah well, I don't know. That's what I was told alright.

Speaker 2

So yeah, back and forth. So we haven't played this game in a while, so I'll just say the rules. Basically, what I do is I give a topic and Roger and Phil go back and forth with examples of the topic that I give, and the first person to have a brain that just goes um is the loser and, and the funny thing is that both of us have brains that go like on a regular basis. So and you're tied, I think you're. I think you're about tied up yeah, you say that every week.

Speaker 1

I'm not sure that's true, but no, I think it is okay either way, whatever.

Speaker 2

So, um, yeah, okay, so your topic is and uh, okay, your topic is going to be beat-em-up games, and I'm not talking regular 2d side beat-em-up games like altered beast or carnov or I don't know, like a side scroller, but like the 3d ones that you would play in the arcade or at home on the home consoles. The 16-bit generation was really popular with those the 3d ones like on a plane where you can walk up and down.

Speaker 2

Oh, okay, okay okay, yeah, not 3d polygons okay, I was confused, yeah I got, it, I got it, I got it yeah so, um so, and I will call this out, since you both are working on the fly uh, sequels are allowed okay, okay so since I see, phil's like writing stuff down. So, phil, you go I know, I know.

Speaker 3

First Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game.

Speaker 1

Okay, batman Returns for Super Nintendo Simpsons.

Speaker 2

Alright, okay.

Speaker 1

I would say Turtles. Did you say arcade game? Did you say the arcade game? That's what I was talking about, then I would say the Turtles in Time.

Speaker 3

Okay.

Speaker 1

I go with Double Dragon, double Dragon 2.

Speaker 3

Double Dragon 3.

Speaker 1

Oh my God, let's see River City Girls, streets of Rage, ransom City, ransom City, you're close, wasn't it called Ransom you gotansom City.

Speaker 2

You're close.

Speaker 1

Wasn't it called Ransom?

Speaker 2

You got two of the words, but they're not in the right order and there's an extra word in there Ransom City Rampage.

Speaker 1

I'll give it to you. River Rampage, river City, ransom that's what the word I was looking for. Yeah, I always get that one confused with that. You know the other one. You know what I'm talking about River City Girls. No, not that one.

Speaker 2

Renegade Bad Dudes.

Speaker 1

No, no that was my guess.

Speaker 2

Bad Dudes is not on a plane, that's straight 2D.

Speaker 1

Well, that's straight 2D dude.

Speaker 4

Fine.

Speaker 1

X -Men.

Speaker 2

Oh, that's a good one that's a good one, uh, captain america, and and the avengers spider-man maximum carnage oh, that's a good one.

Speaker 1

Uh, the punisher. There's only 25 000 of them. I can't yeah.

Speaker 3

Streets of Rage 2, while I buy myself some time.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah, that's a good one. Let's see what is another one. How about the Turtles Shredder's Revenge? Did we say that one yet no?

Speaker 3

Did you say Karnov does not work?

Speaker 2

Karnov does not work. That's just a.

Speaker 3

Oh, I thought there was Up and Down involved in that?

Speaker 2

I do not think so. I'll trust you In that case, I'm going to switch to Rage 3.

Speaker 3

Okay.

Speaker 1

River City Girls 2.

Speaker 3

River City Ransom 2.

Speaker 1

Is there River City Ransom 2?

Speaker 3

There is now, damn it, if not, I'm going Double Dragon Neo.

Speaker 2

Neon.

Speaker 3

Neon. The end is silent.

Speaker 1

That was the best. Let's see what's? Another beat-em-up that I know of Frick. This is hard because you know all these games and then you just forget them. Oh my god, oh my god, shit, shit. No, I can't think of any that are in three planes. I'm sorry, I can't think of any more. There's so many more, I just can't think of any. Scott Pilgrim vs the World oh shit.

Speaker 3

Phil, congratulations, I had to get one more in, so that way it felt legit. Yeah, and Streets of Rage 4.

Speaker 2

And Streets of Rage 4,. Yep, some potential ones. You could have said Battletoads. Oh, battletoads yep Castle Crashers.

Speaker 1

Oh Castle Crashers.

Speaker 2

Games in the Final Fight series. I was thinking Final Fight. I couldn't think of the name of it, but I was thinking Terry and that group Golden Axe.

Speaker 1

Golden Axe would have been a good one. Those were some fun games yeah there was a Power Rangers game that was like that. Oh, I didn't play that, so I wouldn't have guessed that at all.

Speaker 2

Anybody say the Simpsons?

Speaker 1

I did yeah, Phil did.

Speaker 2

That's all I got. So, yeah, so congratulations Phil.

Speaker 1

Yeah, good job, phil. Yay, it's hard to think of that when you're on the spot. Oh yeah, you're going through all these games and I was going to guess. It's hard to think of that when you're like on the spot, like you're going through all these games and you're like, and I was going to guess.

Speaker 2

I was going to guess like Hades but I don't think that counts.

Speaker 3

That's not really a beat them up, right, that's like a hack and slash, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2

So it is a hack and I know I'm just thinking like that's an entirely different debate, like what the difference difference between a hack and slash and a and a beat-em-up is yeah and hack and slash is you hack and you slash and beat them up.

Speaker 1

So you beat and you. I thought another one. It was young souls. Um, that was a really fun one. That one my, my son and I beat together that was a two-player game was beat him up you could have said that turtles arcade game that came out for the Switch that you loved.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I try to forget about that one. Alright. Well, let's move on to games that we're most anticipating for August. There's actually quite a few games here on this list, holy smokes. So, phil, I'll start with you. What games are you most excited about to come out?

Speaker 3

Well yeah. And also that the Mortuary Assistant sounds like a lot of fun.

Speaker 4

What do?

Upcoming Video Games Discussion

Speaker 3

I know about it Nothing, but it sounds like a lot of fun. That game's out already though right.

Speaker 2

It was out on Steam.

Speaker 1

Yeah, and Switch actually, and the Switch actually.

Speaker 2

What I'm just saying. If you love it so much, why don't you stream it?

Speaker 1

I'm not going to stream that game. That's not going to happen.

Speaker 3

Cat Quest 3?.

Speaker 1

Yeah, there we go.

Speaker 3

And I think that might be about it from what I'm reading.

Speaker 4

Okay, will I actually play either one of?

Speaker 3

those Probably not. Oh shit, Star Wars Outlaws.

Speaker 1

Yeah, star Wars Outlaws. I was going to say I'm surprised you haven't said that one.

Speaker 3

Well, it's the last one on the list. It takes me a long time to read, Roger. I'm not very smart.

Speaker 1

Not Monster.

Speaker 4

Jam Showdown. I don't know what. Monster Jam Showdown the list. It takes me a long time to read, roger, I'm not very smart. Why not monster jam showdown? I don't know what monster jam showdown is.

Speaker 1

I don't either. You don't know what monster jam showdown is seriously.

Speaker 3

Hey, mike, since you're such a busy man, why don't you tell us what?

Speaker 1

yeah, what is, what is?

Speaker 2

that all right, so I'm a busy guy. I'm a busy guy and I, so I don't have much time to play games. So I've, I've got an ability. I don't know what's. It's yeah, monster jam man. You never heard of monster jam, it's oh, is it like monster trucks no that's what I thought too.

Speaker 1

Is it like a monster truck game?

Speaker 2

no, no, it's actually so what happened? What happened was after uh, just dance 2018 came out, is this made up the? Developers actually, so you know there was a lot of them were fired from ubisoft, so they formed their own um development studio. And what monster jam is it's? Actually, it's a spiritual successor to just dance. So what you're doing is you get to choose your monster uh-huh all right, and when you choose your monster.

Speaker 1

You work at a jam factory, so you're making jellies and jams I was kind of believing him for a moment there and then, and then, yeah, yeah, and and not and, so, but you've got some really good music going on in the background, okay yeah yeah, soundtrack by cnc music factory.

Speaker 2

I don't make you sweat. Yeah, yes, so you can play as frankenstein's monster oh you know making you know jam making different types of jams yeah, frankenberry jam, that's right. Yeah, so you know, and and it's, it's. It's adorable too, because the werewolf has a hair net, you know.

Speaker 1

Yeah, a body net.

Speaker 4

A whole body net. It's just a net.

Speaker 2

It's just a big net with cartoon eyes on it.

Speaker 3

It's what they caught him in.

Speaker 2

Yep and the mummy is in charge of shipping and distributing, you know. But then, after you beat the first level, which is the jam part then it just becomes you working on the day-to-day. So Dracula is in charge of this monster jam factory and you've got to deal with things that go wrong, like the air conditioning goes out.

Speaker 3

All right, too soon.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I'm sorry, I'm working on the fly here, man, you know, and the payroll. The thing is the other monsters start to form a union, and then you've got to deal with that.

Speaker 1

You know I would play this game. I probably would play this game. Sounds like a good game. It turns out Master Jam actually is monster trucks.

Speaker 2

Yeah, but I wasn't even done with my description you just cut me off.

Speaker 1

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you were done there. I'm so sorry. Continue.

Speaker 2

That's alright. That's okay. I think I'm done.

Speaker 3

My work here is done.

Speaker 2

The game is made by Galoob or something I don't know Galoob.

Speaker 3

Tie toe.

Speaker 1

Oh man, that's really funny.

Speaker 2

Yeah it's, it's the monster truck, yeah, it's monster truck.

Speaker 1

And I was kind of thinking like obviously these monster jam games are still very popular because they keep making new ones yeah or cheap yeah yeah, well I mean you would think that it wouldn't be cheap because of getting the license of all the different trucks like Gravedigger and do you think a monster truck license is an expensive one to get?

Speaker 1

I'm assuming you just like get in touch with the well like Bigfoot, and you know. Bigfoot Gravedigger yeah, gravedigger, I think those used to be. I said Undertaker, I meant Gravedigger, I think those used to be. When said Undertaker, I meant Gravedigger, I think those used to be, I mean those when we were kids. Those I don't think they are anymore.

Speaker 3

Maybe you're right, maybe, but I still do decent numbers when they show up at like stadiums and stuff.

Speaker 2

I know that, yeah, they did pretty good, yeah, and not only that, but like their commercials were the best oh yeah. Sunday.

Speaker 1

Sunday. Why was?

Speaker 3

it always Sunday. Same reason that everything happens on the weekends. You can get more people at a place on the weekend.

Speaker 1

A Sunday, but not a Saturday. Oh, they do two-day things.

Speaker 3

They did a two-day show last time they were in town, which was last year. They did Saturday and Sunday. Maybe, that was this year. That was this year.

Speaker 1

But that sounds like a game.

Speaker 2

It sure does it sure does. Out of all the games coming out in August, that is one of them.

Speaker 3

That is the game. I'm going to keep this thing moving. Mike, what on that list interests you? Monster Jam.

Speaker 2

Let me tell you about Monster Jam this has become like a Groundhog's Day type situation. Honestly, to me this is a quiet month. Mortuary's Assistant looks interesting to me Also. Visions of Mana.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah.

Speaker 2

I am not a big fan of RPGs. I don't really get into them a whole lot. But when I saw the trailer for this one, that one captured me. I was like you know what? This looks pretty nice.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 2

And that's it.

Speaker 1

That's it For me. I would say steam world, heist 2, that looks fantastic. Um, I'm looking forward to that. Cat quest 2, looking forward to that three uh, you can already play three, I mean three, three. Uh, I'm your beast. Fantastic that's not, but I'm excited about that game. Uh and uh, mika and the witch's mountain. It looks really good. Uh, and star wars outlaws is the other one that I'm looking forward to do you know anything?

Speaker 1

do you guys know anything about the mika? Mika game sounds like a made-up word. So you, you're a witch and you're delivering goods to different people, and it looks kind of like oh, I know I've seen that yeah.

Speaker 1

It looks like like cell shaded kind of artwork, it's like it looks really cute. It looks really cool. So I'm excited about that game. But yeah, I am beer beast is. But go ahead, I was gonna say one of those chill games. It is a chill game, yeah, and I am, your beast is a uh, strange cat scaffold game that's coming out. Uh, they did the one I talked about a couple weeks ago where you are, um, stalking people that stalker game.

Speaker 1

Remember that stalking game uh, same, same company, but this one you are like infiltrating enemy bases and you have to and you get you're timed on how quickly you can get through, like the different areas and take out the enemies. And then you like, as you go through, you grab like knives. You throw a knife at a guy, grab a gun, shoot the next guy, like you just like go as quickly as you can. It looks really intense, intense, it looks really cool. And then Star Wars Outlaws looks fantastic. Did you guys know that as the first this is a joke the first open world Star Wars game? That's a joke. But they said that.

Open-World Gaming and Rally Racing

Speaker 1

Name another one Wasn't Jedi, wouldn't you say Jedi? Survivors is an open-world game. No, no, really.

Speaker 3

Because you're going planet to planet and playing through levels.

Speaker 2

Yeah, that's more like a Metroidvania.

Speaker 1

Oh, okay, alright, Alright. So I guess it's the first open-world Star Wars game.

Speaker 3

To me, an open-world game is like a Grand Theft Auto, where you can go anywhere, do anything.

Speaker 1

Yeah, okay, we can go anywhere, do anything, yeah, okay. So, yeah, I'm excited for the game. Hopefully it turns out well. Um, yeah, I guess that leads us to what we're currently playing this week, right, is that where I think? So, yeah, so, uh, michael, let's start with you, because you said that you are gonna have a lighter week. I'll start with you. What are you currently playing to?

Speaker 2

have a lighter week. I'll start with you. What are you currently playing? Yep, Again Fortnite. I reached level 100.

Speaker 1

Wow, good job.

Speaker 2

Thank you, I appreciate it.

Speaker 1

I like the one firework yeah.

Speaker 2

My eye, my leg. The only other game I played was inspired my back and forth topic and I played inspired my back-and-forth topic and I played and beat, for the very first time, pow Prisoners of War.

Speaker 4

Oh yeah.

Speaker 2

Which was a game on the NES that I got that as a kid, and if you were like me, you had a Nintendo Entertainment System and only about six games and you played those six games over and, over, and over and over. So Prisoners of War, war pow, was one of them.

Speaker 2

Uh, this time I played the arcade version yeah, and uh, it was on free play, so I played it, uh, and I finally beat the game. So, hooray me. Uh, I calculated it probably would have cost me about 23 worth of quarters to beat the game because it was so cheap. And then I beat the game because it was so cheap. And then I beat the game and it was like one screen and some text and I'm like that was it. I paid $23 in fake money for this.

Speaker 1

That was part of the SNK 40th anniversary as well, I think both the NES version and the arcade version of that game.

Speaker 2

Yeah. So I played the arcade version on my handy dandy emulator.

Speaker 1

Nice Cool.

Speaker 2

That's all I had.

Speaker 1

That's it. That's all. That's actually quite a bit. That's quite a bit GG on your wins. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Phil, what about you?

Speaker 3

If Mike can brag about completing a Battle Pass, I can brag about it as well. Wrapped up level 80 on Overwatch's Battle Pass, nice, or some play an MLB the Show, like I always do. And then I played something else, and I don't remember what I played, since Xbox is down and won't let me look. But then I played another game that I do remember what it's called, and that's called dirt 2.0 oh yeah, that's our car racing game yeah, it's a rally racing game and I've always fantasized about being a rally racer.

Gaming Chats and Battle Pass Progress

Speaker 3

It is one of my things in life that I wish that I had more money when I was growing up so I could have been a rally racer, because I think that it would be one of the most liberating things in the entire world just to rip through farm fields on these courses as fast as you can and to try not to kill yourself. So it's always intrigued me, which is also part of the reason why I've driven Subarus most of my life, because I really wanted a WRX STI and one day, when I have my full midlife crisis breakdown, I'm going to buy myself one and I'm going to do a bunch. But in the meantime, I'm stuck playing Dirt 2.0, which stays very, very true to the rally racing genre. From what I know of it, I should say the sport of rally racing where there is no map on your screen. You just have a guy sitting next to you telling you what's coming up, and it's all in first person. So as you're driving, he'll be like 50 meters until a slight right hand turn, 25 meters until a downward jump that you're gonna, or a downward dip that you're gonna want to take slow, otherwise you're gonna bottom out, and so like it's all being done this way and it's all like on a single track I should say not all of it, because I've only played a handful of races, um, but it's a like a single track type of a dirt road that even weaves through villages and things like that, and it seems so far as though each race is split up into sections and it's done time trial style. So that way you're not like racing with other cars, you're just trying to like get your best position moving forward with accumulative time, but all of your damage you sustained your car in the previous race stays with. Oh, and you only get so many restarts per race as well. So you really have to maneuver this thing pretty efficiently and kind of like really learn how to feather like even just the gas and the brake and gently steer as well, because you'll just carry them off like I, first time I did it, I was just going balls to the wall and just like held down the the accelerator the entire time and I flipped my car 95 times and ran into a tree and, like I, if I wouldn't have restarted, I might not have probably even been able to finish the next race, I'm assuming.

Speaker 3

But it's uh. I'm really digging the concept of it and it feels super good when you get the flow going and you're just like navigating it perfectly. It feels really cool. Um, it's a game that I'm gonna spend some more time with. It's also a game that makes me wish that I had a super sweet driving rig as well as a VR headset to play this thing, because doing this in VR with a rig going on would be badass Because, like I said, it's all in first person, so as you're driving, you see your hands shift down and upshifting and downshifting and things like that. That's cool. I thought it was very cool and I'm looking forward to spending more time with it and eventually buying myself a sell a subaru wrx in it, instead of driving my shitty ass, little puge, or whatever the hell that I'm driving.

Speaker 1

Yeah, dirt 2.0 nice, uh, anything else you want to talk about?

Speaker 3

yeah, but I don't remember what it is and I can't look because xbox is being a dick. Yeah, yeah, for the second time I'm demanding another 70 free game for losing three dollars worth of my money on the xbox being down. Get your three dollars. Speaking of money, did you ever buy any of those pinball tables that losing?

Speaker 1

$3 worth of my money on the Xbox being down Get your $3.

Speaker 2

Speaking of money, did you ever buy any of those pinball tables that were on sale?

Speaker 3

Yeah, I bought a small handful, couldn't tell you which one's off the top of my head, I think I bought the Texas Chainsaw Massacre one, maybe, and I downloaded the free soccer one.

Speaker 2

Maybe the south park one too they don't have pinball fx, doesn't have turn-based multiplayer, does it? I think so yeah, I can actually see your, you taking your, you doing your turn.

Speaker 3

You know what I mean I feel like we did doing golf yeah, I feel like either two or three did really I might I? I I have most of my tables on the switch.

Speaker 2

But I would be tempted to buy them again on the xbox if that that of my tables on the switch. But I would be tempted to buy them again on the xbox if that that was something we could play only I would do that in multiplayer I beat one of your scores, mike I never said you could beat one of my scores.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it was in the pinball. When you said you were playing pinball, I was like, well, I want to play pinball, so I. So I started playing it and it was like one of the I don't remember what, what, uh. So I started playing it and it was like one of the. I don't remember what machine it was, but it was like you passed your friend Mike and I'm like heck, yeah, I did.

Speaker 3

When FX2 came out, Andy and I used to go back and forth all the time and try just beating each other's high score records and we actually had a decent-sized friend community that was playing, so it was just like continually trying to flip each other's high scores. It was super fun.

Speaker 1

Nice it was playing, so it was just like continually trying to flip each other's high scores. It was super fun, nice um for myself. So the games that I've been playing. So since you guys talked about battle passes and beating a battle pass, I can also mention my battle pass as well. So I got the level 80 star wars hunters battle pass, which is awesome. Uh, and that got me the battle pass, which is awesome. Uh, and that got me the mandalorian special outfit. I don't remember the character's name, but it's called the mandalorian because he is a mandalorian. Um, so I was very excited about that because I paid for the season pass.

Speaker 3

So that was cool, I think I probably asked you this on a previous episode what's a season pass of that cost?

Roguelike Turtles and Clickolding

Speaker 1

I think it's ten dollars. Okay, pretty standard then. And it's still going on for like 11 days or something like that, so like there's still plenty of time. I I was like it's never gonna happen. And then all of a sudden, like I think I hit level like 65 and I was like, oh my gosh, I'm gonna hit level 80. I think I'm gonna do it and and I wasn't playing. I mean, I played every day, but I wasn't playing like a ton, but I was playing smart, like completing my daily quest, completing my weekly quests, um, and those things just helped me move up my character or move up my, my, my, uh, battle pass. So that was cool. That was neat. Uh, I'm reviewing a game and I streamed this the other night. This one's called Saturn DX. It is a twin stick shooter.

Speaker 3

What I was just going to ask if that's where your Triple H-ness came from. It's because you were playing Saturn DX. Oh yeah, dx, that would have been cool.

Speaker 1

It's a twin stick shooter arcade style game, except instead of the other stick is your gun, you use the buttons, so like X is to shoot up and B is to shoot down, and then if you hit A and B together, for instance, it shoots diagonally. So you can shoot diagonally, which I didn't even realize until the other night, and this game is really cool. So what I like about this game is what makes this game interesting is that there's little like blue characters. You have to go around and collect and save those like your little buddies. You have to save your friends, but once you kill like enemies and they're all different colors and it's just, you know, it's like the 8-bit graphics, right.

Speaker 1

But once you kill some of the other enemies enemies they splatter, and then they splatter that color and and then it gets hard to see things, especially if they're the same color as as the splat. That happened there. Um, so pretty soon you just have like a whole floor for just color and you're just like maneuvering around really fast it's. It's a fun game and and I did pretty well the other night I actually got top 35. Nice, the leaderboard, and at first I was like, oh man, they only allow one score of yours on there. But then I realized that's actually a good thing, because otherwise somebody will just get all the scores right.

Speaker 1

Yeah, so but, man, stupid ass guy. Yeah, I, I got. Uh, well, I think what was mine? Oh, 780, 780, 000 points was my high score. Um, no, maybe it's more. It was like 800 something. Anyway, uh, the high score, the highest high score number one, is 13 million something.

Speaker 3

So like damn, yeah, that's and then they have different levels yeah, they have.

Speaker 1

They have different levels too. So I made it to level 16, level 17 and the top score made it to level 47. There's no, I was just like's. I don't know if I can do that, but I was proud. I was proud of those on top like top 35. That was pretty cool. So that's that game is Saturn DX. That's coming on a switch. I played, I got the new turtles game that just came out Taylor turtles splintered fate, I think it's called right. I, I think it's called right. I would like to know more about that. Yeah, so imagine Hades, but with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles it's a roguelike.

Speaker 2

Mike.

Speaker 1

It's a roguelike.

Speaker 2

I'm willing to take that dive because I'm starting to warm up to roguelikes.

Speaker 1

Oh wow, what made you warm up? What games are?

Speaker 2

making you warm up to themguelikes. Oh, wow, uh, what made you made you warm up, what, what, what games are making you warm up to them? Um, no, actually, um, surprisingly enough, dead rising uh they announced. They announced the new, the remake of dead rising. I was like I was, because I love dead rising games. Yeah, and I kind of like was thinking. I'm like know what those are technically roguelikes? Oh shit Cricket.

Speaker 3

Sorry.

Speaker 1

Is that?

Speaker 2

the name of a roguelike game.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it's the best roguelike.

Speaker 2

Actually, that would be a cool name for a video game.

Speaker 1

It is. He was playing Cricket. That's what he was saying I know that.

Speaker 3

I'm better now, I promise.

Speaker 1

I think. So you can play up to four players online, which is cool, and last night I played and I made it to chapter three, which is actually pretty decent. I will say there's a lot of characters that I don't know in this game, so they're making references to. If I make these references, you'll probably be like oh yeah, like the chairman. I don't know who that is.

Speaker 2

Who.

Speaker 1

The chairman.

Speaker 2

It's Le Parker, what it's Le Parker Is that a. I don't know Wrong audience. He that a.

Speaker 1

I don't know. Wrong audience.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I don't know. He was a luchador in WCW that would whack everybody with a chair.

Speaker 1

He was the chairman.

Speaker 3

After he'd whack them, he'd do a funny little dance and he'd play the guitar on the chair.

Speaker 1

Oh, okay, okay, no, not the same character.

Speaker 2

Was he like part of the Pantheon? Like what?

Speaker 1

does he look like? He's like he has like these robes on, he has like the hood over his face and he's got like a mask over him.

Speaker 2

Um look that up.

Speaker 1

So, uh, shredder's daughter is in.

Speaker 2

It is a daughter or granddaughter karai, it depends on it depends on what um continuity you're talking about sometimes it's his granddaughter.

Speaker 1

Sometimes it's just his daughter okay, I think they they were. They referred to to her as the granddaughter of shredder. Okay, um, the voice acting is really good, um, so yeah, I mean it's cool, uh. But like, once you die, you start all over and you go through to fight leatherhead again and you have to fight korai again, and then you have to fight iai again and then you have to fight I remember who the third one, the Rat Prince, which wasn't the Rat King, it was the Rat Prince. He's like this huge rat, he's huge.

Speaker 2

Oh, a giant rat. Okay, that's definitely not the Rat King, so probably they're just making up people.

Speaker 1

Maybe so, but yeah, it's cool. I mean it's. It's a, it's a decent game. If you like Hades, I mean it's Hades with teenage mutant ninja turtles.

Speaker 2

And you can play online with other people.

Speaker 1

You can play online with other people Like, and it was fun. When I was playing last night I had the ability that when I was playing Leonardo, and whenever he dashed, uh, I picked up ability where he would do water damage. He would splash water behind him and do damage to the enemies. And then he had the ability. I picked up ability where he could do lightning strikes as well. So combining those things did more damage. It was pretty cool. It was neat, yeah. So I mean, if you like roguelikes, it's really good. I like it, it's fun. It's $30. I would say it's worth $30. Yeah.

Speaker 2

Is it worth $30, or is it worth it to wait for a sale?

Speaker 3

Everything's worth waiting for a sale, Mike.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I would. I mean, you know, here's the thing, like Unless you're like, oh my gosh, I just have to die and play it and I can't wait to play it, Then I mean I wouldn't say you'd be disappointed in spending $30 in it, but I would say, wait.

Speaker 3

Realistically, mike. Here's my advice. If you were to buy the game, when would you play the game? Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2

Six to eight years.

Speaker 1

Wait for it to go on sale. It's going to go on sale, but yeah, $30 I don't think is a bad price, though, for it. And then this last game. I'm just going to describe the game before I tell you the name of the game. Okay, so you're in a hotel room and in the corner of this hotel room leisure suit Larry no, there's this guy, but he has a weird face.

Speaker 1

And in the corner of this hotel room, leisure suit Larry. No, no, there's this guy, but he has a weird face. He's like a monster kind of weird monster face and he's just watching you and you have a clicker and he tells you just to keep clicking the clicker.

Speaker 2

The heck is a clicker. Is it like one of the guys from one of the bad guys from the Last of Us?

Speaker 3

It is, but not this, like he's counting people that are coming in and out.

Speaker 2

Are you working? Are you like an umpire?

Speaker 1

Are you security? Yeah, I mean, that's what it's like.

Speaker 2

See, I thought you were talking about it could have been like a TV remote, yeah that's what I thought too.

Speaker 1

Oh no, no, it's like a counter, and he just wants to watch you click away. It's called Click Holding. Oh Jesus, it's a good game. It's an actual game. It's an actual game. No, listen, don't leave. It's actually a good game. It's made by A Strange Scaffold. Wait, wait, did you just say it was made by a?

Speaker 2

strange scaffold.

Speaker 1

Uh, this game did you just say it was made by a strange scaffold the game is the company's called strange scaffold okay it's a good game, it's the same it's the same company that made that, that uh stalker game I talked about a couple weeks ago what else is there to?

Speaker 3

do in this game other than click the clicker?

Speaker 1

Well, so you'll have to play it. You'll have to play it.

Speaker 3

I can't it's on PC only.

Speaker 1

Oh, that's true, it is on PC only. And I don't play PC games and it's not hard to play. You just take your mouse?

Speaker 4

I would imagine not. I can do this.

Speaker 1

You just click on your mouse. It's a psychological horror.

Speaker 2

I'll just put it that way oh well, okay, so now I'm a little bit more interested it's a.

Streaming Games and PAX Panel

Speaker 1

It's a weird game. It's only $2, it's like $2.50. I still love that. I shouldn't say weird, because weird makes it sound like it could be bad. It's not bad, it's an interesting game and it's creepy. And, yeah, makes it sound like it could be bad. It's not bad, it's an interesting game and it's creepy. And uh, yeah, you should. I mean, if you get a chance to play it, you should play. I'll stream it. I'll stream it. How's that? I'll stream it. It's only like 40 minutes long. It's not long game either. It's a lot of clicking. I'll stream it. Yeah, it is a lot of clicking. I'll stream it and then you guys can watch it and see, like, what click holding is all about. Uh, yeah, yeah, it's an interesting concept. All right, it's not something you've ever you know what I?

Speaker 2

I don't know anything about it, so I can't.

Speaker 1

I'll reserve judgment for until when you stream it okay and then same thing about mortuary's assessment yeah, okay, I don't know anything about that game either. I will reserve, yeah. So, yeah, those are the games I've been playing this week. So stay tuned for my review on Saturn DX, which will be up on the site. Here you can go check our YouTube channel or our Twitch channel Twitchtv slash GamerHeadsPodcast Every channel, twitchcom, or twitchtv slash gamer heads podcast Every Wednesday at eight 30, a stream eight 30 ish, sometimes nine, depending on the situation.

Speaker 2

Uh, what time zone.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah, our time zone.

Speaker 2

Oh, that's right.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, central time. Uh, the the other thing I want to say before we log out here. The other thing I want to highlight is I can say this now I'm going to be on a panel at PAX Nice.

Speaker 2

Very exciting.

Speaker 1

PAX West.

Speaker 3

Not PAX Madison.

Speaker 1

No, not PAX Madison. John Paxton. No, not John Paxton, not Bill Paxton.

Speaker 3

But you remember Jacob, that was on our show of course I think we just lost roger give him a second he's stuck roger's buffering roger's it's the byproduct of what happens whenever you get click holding roger's done buffering you.

Speaker 2

You overloaded your computer, Roger, with too much clicking, I know I know Too much clicking going on there.

Speaker 1

Do you remember Jacob from yes, we covered this the first time around man, what is this? Groundhog Day? I already said yes, I didn't hear you say that. Anyway, he's hosting it and Jill Grote and I are going to be tag team partners against three other teams, or two other teams, no, three other teams versus the audience. So it'll be an interesting event.

Speaker 3

Is there anybody else that's playing trivia? That's been on this show before.

Speaker 1

Yes, Baron.

Speaker 3

Just trying to give a shout out to the people that have been here.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's true, baron.

Speaker 3

Von Raschke. No, Baron J from level one trying to give shout out to the people that have been here.

Speaker 1

Speaker 1

Yeah, I will say I am a little worried because that's 11 o'clock our time and that's the first night and I might be trying to like get accustomed to the new time zone. So we'll see how well I perform. You and I have different 9.30 problems, man, we do we do.

Speaker 3

My performance drops at 9.30 for other reasons, not because I'm tired.

Speaker 1

Anyway. So stay tuned for that Before we head out. Why don't want to tell the good people how they can follow us on social media? And, mike, how can people follow you on social media?

Speaker 2

Speaker 3

It's well worth following, mike, if you enjoy saying nothing, that's true, Phil.

Speaker 1

Speaker 3

You can reach me at bnow23 on Twitter. Seriously, if you reach out to me and say something, I will gladly sell you a bottle for less than Amazon does.

It's worth it. It is worth it.

Speaker 1

It is worth it. It's so good.

Speaker 2

Speaker 1

I like the sauce.

Speaker 2

I like the sauce too. Not that sauce. I meant the yum yum sauce.

Speaker 1

Wait, breakfast fried rice. What's breakfast fried rice? So?

Speaker 3

we make our own fried rice juice. Okay, yes, that's what we call it. So it's rice, peas, eggs, bacon, sausage. Fried rice juice, uh, done in a wok, served in a soup bowl with some kale that's tossed in sesame dressing, with some sesame seeds on top, with yum, yum on top of that.

Speaker 1

Oh my god, you serve that at the restaurant. Oh my god.

Speaker 3

It is probably our best selling item, next to a chicken sandwich.

Speaker 1

Oh, my god, that sounds yummy. And listeners. You can follow me on Twitter at NintendoRodge. You can follow the GamerHeadsPodcast at GamerHeadsPod.
