TRAUMA INFORMED LEGAL ADVOCACY, DOES IT WORK? With Riti Chikkerur and Attorney Kelly March

   Slam the Gavel welcomes back Riti Chikkerur to the podcast. Riti was last on Season 3, Episode 154. Today she is accompanied by Attorney Kelly March in Colorado. Today we discussed Our Children Matter Most, Inc. where Riti Chikkerur is Executive Director of the OCMM, a non-profit and in the process of restructuring as a Benefit Corporation and collaborates with NAACP. Why can't doing good be profitable? Because it is solution based. Riti is in the process of going to law school.

   TILA-LABS (Trauma Informed Legal Advocacy) was discussed which provides holistic approach and solutions to the parents and also to the legal community. This will include nutrition, legal, spiritual and mental health. They will soon be launching TILA-LABS, a one-stop holistic trauma informed view on a parent's situation, helping to resolve it. 

    Attorney Kelly March, in Colorado since 2010, began to see how corrupt and backwards some situations can get in the family courts. Attorney March saw that certain families could benefit from TILA-LABS as they become overwhelmed by the system. A holistic approach would be so beneficial to families and shorten  court cases which would in turn benefit the children.
