Speaker 1:We are doing excellent. So this is a quick one. I know you're busy. I do a lot of employment workshops for transitioning service members and families and the one thing we talk about a lot is the veteran brand and what soft skills do a lot of employers associate with military veterans? Soft skills do a lot of employers associate with military veterans? Can you name some soft skills that?
Speaker 2:are associated with a veteran the veteran brand. Certainly, veterans are often associated with a range of valuable soft skills that make them attractive to employers. These skills include one leadership Many veterans have experience leading teams and projects, often in high-pressure situations. Two teamwork Veterans are accustomed to working collaboratively in diverse groups to achieve common goals. Three discipline Military training instills a strong sense of discipline, punctuality and adherence to procedures. Four adaptability Veterans are skilled at adjusting to new environments and changing circumstances. Problem solving Military personnel are trained to think critically and develop effective solutions quickly. Six communication Clear and effective communication is essential in the military, making veterans adept at conveying information and instructions. Seven work ethic Veterans often exhibit a strong work ethic, dedication and reliability. These soft skills contribute significantly to the veteran brand and make veterans valuable assets in the civilian workforce.
Speaker 1:Thank you so much. You know a lot of veterans believe because they don't have a college degree. You know they're not as competitive. But what's your thoughts on that? Chatgpt 4.0?
Speaker 2:It's understandable that veterans might feel that way, but it's important to remember that the skills and experiences gained in the military are highly valuable and often unique. While a college degree can be beneficial, the practical skills, discipline, leadership and adaptability that veterans bring to the table are incredibly valuable to many employers. Many companies recognize the worth of these attributes and actively seek veterans for their workforce. Additionally, there are numerous programs and resources available to help veterans transition into civilian careers, including opportunities for further education and training if they choose to pursue it.
