Speaker 1:

The Vegas Realty Check podcast brings the Las Vegas Valley all of the latest real estate news updates, weekly market inventory stats and so much more.

Speaker 2:

Joining us now are the show's hosts and Keller Williams Realty Realtors Tricia Williams and Tiana Carroll. Good morning to you both.

Speaker 3:

Good morning.

Speaker 2:

Thank you so much for having us. It's a pleasure.

Speaker 3:

Thank you for joining us.

Speaker 2:

So how did the show, the podcast itself, get its legs? How did it get started? What was the moment? You were both like we should do a podcast.

Speaker 4:

Everything great that came out of the pandemic Right.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I started the podcast back in 2020 when everything shut down and real estate at first came to a complete halt and then all of a sudden, it started moving very quickly. So people were reaching out to me like what's happening? What's going on? And I was doing videos that I was promoting out on social media that just had market stats, what's happening in the market Cause everybody was interested in what's going on and it merged, it just formed into a podcast.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, and it worked out great. It's a great way for people in the community to find out what's going on in the real estate market. Unless you're in real estate At the moment, it doesn't matter, but if you are, then you have a research, a resource you can turn to and get information, numbers, stats, all that stuff and also what's going on in the community, kind of like what you guys do.

Speaker 1:

Part of what you had said is sharing statistics. You know real estate stats, so why is that important? Why is it really important to cover those numbers and what's going on?

Speaker 3:

So our market, when we get the GLVAR statistics that come out they come out once a month and that tells you what happened in the previous month in real estate. Our real estate market changes so rapidly that what happened in the previous month we could be in a completely different market right now, and we've seen that especially even more since 2020.

Speaker 4:

Totally.

Speaker 3:

So doing. What we do is provide weekly updates on what's going on. We can see spikes in inventory before everybody else notices the inventory spike, which could indicate a market change.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you mentioned obviously that this was all born out of necessity in some respects, because people are asking questions about what's going on. On your podcast you guys take live questions from listeners and viewers. What are typical questions? I know I'm also just out of my own curiosity. Are there any crazy questions you guys can remember too, like? A crazy one, but what are the typical questions you get asked all the time.

Speaker 3:

Well, we had someone recently with a lot of dogs that wanted to know where she could live with all her dogs.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, we'll get you out in Centennial Hills with no.

Speaker 4:

HOA. The questions because it's real estate don't really get too far-fetched, but they're usually jumping off points or if somebody is looking to invest, where should they start, and anything like that. So the questions are pretty basic for us, but it's just. When you have a question, it's just a good resource to turn to so that way it can be answered for you instead of having to reach out to a realtor when you're still in those infantile stages. And we also get a ton of realtors who subscribe to the show itself simply so they can stay on top of what's going on in the market and have that firsthand look, because, like we said, those numbers are always indicators of what's happening and what's going on.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's great. You're helping both sides.

Speaker 4:

Well, yeah well, everybody, the whole community. We're both from Vegas. We love it here. We've been here for well. You've been here your whole life. I've been here for more years than I'd like to say on air, but I've watched the town grow and just keeping an eye on everything in the city. We just love Vegas and we want to extend community to new and old people that are here.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and you mentioned community and talking about community spotlights. Why is something like that really important? What did this sort of look like for your?

Speaker 3:

show. So once a month we do something called a community spotlight and this introduces people, because the people that are following our show are interested in real estate in las vegas. On some level, some aspect it introduces people to the local las vegas community, business owners, people that have businesses in the community, people that are doing things that are impactful in the community. So we spend our 30-minute show just interviewing them and having them tell us about what they do kind of what you guys do here, just telling us about what's going on.

Speaker 2:

Where can people tune in, listen, follow the show, ask you know, submit questions? Where can they do all that?

Speaker 3:

So we have a link tree, which is our website, is pointed towards that which has everything Vegas RealtyCheck, and that is at RealtyCheck Vegas. So if you still use the www's, it's wwwRealtyCheck Vegas and that has everything there. That has our link tree, our audio links, our YouTube, our socials, and you can submit listener questions right there on that link.

Speaker 1:
