This season, we'll be alternating episodes between learning about AI's potential in the kitchen and bath design business and taking concrete steps to harness that potential. Today, let's dive into the practical first step, how to begin using AI in your daily business operations. You Gmail or Outlook whip up quick email replies for you, but there's so much more AI can offer. Let's talk about changing up how you search for information. One of the most impactful ways to harness this new tool is to switch your default search mode from Google to an AI app. Now, making this shift requires understanding when to rely on real time information versus established data. For instance, if you're searching for the latest color trends, you need the most recent data available. However, if you're looking for advice on the best soothing colors for a spa like bathroom ambiance, you can harness established data for that. This distinction matters because not all AI tools have real time internet connectivity. But things are changing rapidly. Um, so let's talk Google first. Google hasn't introduced Gemini. It's generative AI models created by Google to power a range of different digital products and services. That Most of that is all connected to the internet. Microsoft has rolled out co pilot and artificial intelligence. tool that's primarily meant to support Microsoft 365 users. Most of that is also connected to the internet. So if you're using Copilot, you're good. ChatGPT, perhaps probably the most well known AI tool, links to the web via Microsoft Bing to fetch up to date information. Now our team uses Magi, which is a gateway to numerous AI tools with an option to fetch real time web results. I'll be talking more about Magi in future episodes, but if you're too impatient, then check out the show notes. Rethinking your default to AI first for searches can drastically enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Instead of sifting through pages and pages of irrelevant information, AI can deliver precise answers, even expand upon them, cite their sources, or suggest further reading. Here are a few examples of queries you can start with AI. Calculating margins, drafting collection letters, generating ideas for Instagram reels. Who doesn't need those? Addressing common questions for kitchen remodels, data, ciphering search console errors, getting insights and tips for what to do if an employee is frequently late, crafting an email template to help clients be prepared for their first design meeting. Yeah, feel free to steal that one. Creating company policies on AI usage. Yep, you can even get AI to tell you how to use AI. The true shift, though, isn't just about tinkering or trying these new tools. It's about changing the mindset and the habits of your team, starting with you. Embracing AI means adapting how you think about and interact with technology daily. So, get started today. Make AI your go to for searching, and see just how much more streamlined your processes can become. By embedding AI in your day to day queries, you're not only saving time, but enhancing your capability to provide more focused, informed, and creative solutions for both your team and clients. What will be your first step to change your search reflex? Try an AI driven approach and see its transformative power in streamlining information retrieval.
