When we speak of surrender its meaning can be that an individual surrenders to a God or higher power that is separate. This is not the true meaning of surrender. Here it is stressed that the higher power or God is You , the true, Pure Being. We become only a limited human being and don't acknowledge or experience our divinity. Therefore, here you are not really lettings go of anything. You just start to live in the state of divine presence and know yourself as the highest Being who is pure, free, and forever! To know the light you can't push away the darkness you just turn on the light!
