Learn the Rules Before you Break Them | MPort

Welcome back to another episode of the Underground Society Podcast. Our guest today, MPort, can be found on social media using his infamous Slug Filter making funny videos to his new releases that already have so much comedy “MPorted” into them. 

You see, MPort got his name by importing comedy clips from movies, viral social media videos, and tv shows into his music. (i.e. Level 9 Turtle & Cha Cha Step w Tvboo)

One would think it was easy for him to conceptualize his brand and his project in this way but in our conversation, he explains that he not only had to build the confidence to do something unique and different “go right when everyone else goes left”. But he really had to first learn how to follow the rules of production in order to break them and stand out.
