Speaker 1:

Hello, my favorite reader, welcome to Read with Jebe. I can't wait to share this book with you today. It's all about being welcomed and belonging at school, and the title is called All Are Welcome by Alexandra Penfold and Suzanne Kaufman. Now here's what I want you to do. You can grab the same book from your local library or wherever books are sold, and read along with me. Or if you don't have the book, that's okay, just sit back and listen. Here we go. All are welcome. Pencils sharpened in their case, bells are ringing. Let's make haste. School's beginning Dreams to chase.

Speaker 1:

All are welcome here, no matter how you start your day, what you wear when you play or if you come from far away. All are welcome here In our classroom. Safe and sound, fears are lost and hope is found. Raise your hand, we'll all go around. All are welcome here. Gather now, let's all take part. We'll play music. We'll make art.

Speaker 1:

Now I want you to think about your favorite music that you like to play. What's your favorite instrument? To think about your favorite music that you like to play. What's your favorite instrument? There's one called the sasa, and it's like a rattle. It's made out of a calabash and I love to hear that sound. Think of a time when you could make music. Or what is your favorite thing? You like to create? We'll share stories from the heart. All are welcome here.

Speaker 1:

Time for lunch. What a spread. A dozen different kinds of bread. Pass it around till everyone's fed. All are welcome here.

Speaker 1:

Now I want you reader to think about your favorite food that you like to bring to lunch. My favorite when I was younger we called it cheesy bread. Italian dunkers where we dunk it in marinara sauce. My favorite. Think about a food that you liked to eat. Open doors, rush outside. We will swing, we will slide. We'll have fun side by side. All are welcome here. We are part of a community. Our strength is our diversity, a shelter from adversity. All are welcomed here.

Speaker 1:

Look at all the colors of the world and the people in this book. Can you, friend, pick a person that you would like to talk to in the book? There's so many to choose from. We will learn from each other. Special talents we'll uncover. There's a big world to discover. All are welcome here. So much to learn, so much to do, and when the busy day is through, can't wait to come back and start anew.

Speaker 1:

All are welcome here. All are welcome here. Head for home to get some rest and greet tomorrow ready and fresh. Our time together is the best. All are welcome here. You have a place here. It's a nice poster. You have a place here. It's a nice poster. You are welcome here. You have a space here. Look at that. It's a fun school carnival Everybody getting together. And look at all the flags shown above. I love the bright. Bright colors Makes me feel happy. Now I hope you enjoyed this book as much as I did, and don't forget, share with a friend your favorite part and share with them what makes you feel welcomed. See you next time on Read with Jebe.
