Wendi:

Hello ladies. And welcome to episode 119. I hope that you are doing well. I hope that you're feeling well. And my hopes for today, my goal for this episode specifically, is for you to feel encouraged and really. Start or continue to trust an action. And by that, I mean, Trusting. Not only in got a first. But also in trusting God for who you are. And also on, you know, trusting him to guide you. Regardless of what season you're in, because I know for most of us, we kind of get stuck every now and then at least I may be only speaking here for myself. Um, but there are times and moments and circumstances and situations that we're in that we sometimes take some time to doubt. You know where we are. We take some time to. Consider different, um, decisions that we've made already. And religious kind of let go of this control that we think we have for a future. And so I really want to focus today on. You know, how can we. Um, not only trust in action, but really start. Doing from a place of feeling. Trustworthy in God and in to feeling. Um, like you can trust. Not only. You know what God has said about you, but also the plan that is already set for you. And so with that, you know, it all begins with our thinking, right? It all begins with what we've decided to focus our mind on what we decided to allow. You know that, um, the, the thoughts that are coming in and you know, where we want to focus on specifically. Based on where you are. And so not only am I, you know, doing this through my own personal life, because I've been kind of put in a situation where, you know, um, a decision was made for me already in, you know, what I like to call a, a forced challenge that came up for me. And so in it's, you know, I don't want to say that it's negative because I believe that every circumstance is neutral. But based on what the outcome would be, you know, I immediately. Took a step back and really asked myself, you know, did I make this, you know, was this the right decision? You know, six months ago, should I have maybe. I considered something differently. And so any whom. Um, You know, it took a moment and really, you know, the first thing I did was pray about, you know, the situation I was in a circumstance that was really brought up to me and you know, it really not only. Help me clear my head, but also it allowed me to refocus and. Re, um, align, you know, my own values. Based on what I know is true. About trusting God. And so, I don't know if I've mentioned it here in a podcast. I think I did, but. Um, I, um, one of the books that I chose recommended for my book club was trusting God. And when I tell you that this book, I think I can read. Um, Over and over. I actually have not read it the second time, but I do go back and refer to this book. Um, many times, not only, you know, during difficult moments, but also, um, during times that I know I need to make decisions and I sometimes. You know, not necessarily not know where I'm going or where to go. But I want to take a moment to just reflect on, you know, what I've learned about. Um, you know, God's word and what he has to say about us, trusting him. And so this book has become very helpful to me and it takes me right to the word and even gives me questions. And again, this book is called trusting God by Jerry Bridges. Highly recommend. If you have not read this book, if you have not heard this book throughout a whole, wherever you listen to your books through, I highly recommend that you do. Um, I love audio as you guys know, I love the whole audio platforms. Hint, why I, or hence why I have a podcast? Um, so I would get both if I were you, because it's, I mean, it's, it's a really good book and it takes you in, um, into a deeper level of what it means to trust guide. And so many different ways. And. So today I want to talk about more specifically, you know, How do we kidding courage? You know, based on where we are in our lives, especially where. Um, or when we are in a place where we're like, we just don't know what to do, like help me here. And did I make a right decision? Did I make a wrong decision? You know what, what's going on here? Like. What's going to happen next. Like where am I going to be at? And, you know, there's so many, you know, questions that come up and I'm a questioner just by nature. Um, and so for me, it was kind of like a timing moment to just go back to the basics, right. The foundation that I had really implemented throughout the season that I. Had, um, you know, taking the time to. Not only read this properly. The exact date in a way where I knew that because of, you know, God's word in the verses recommended here in this book and, you know, kind of given me his perspective on. What it means truly to just let go of this control and let go of what we think we know is best for us and just allow guide. To show us and guide us. And so again, I want to share a couple of verses with you. Regarding, you know, what I, um, you know, go back to and really what I went back to when it comes, um, to any tough moment, to any moment where I'm like, okay, I need to really double down on what's happening and religious. They focused in not. You know, start predicting or start, you know, getting anxious about the, what ifs and. You know what it could be and go down this spiral and rabbit hole of. You know, Where I am and where I could be. Versus just really being in that moment and really seeking God right through prayer and just know that he's always going to not only be there for me, but he's going to show me the way, no matter what. And so I want to start off by, you know, one identifying that. In order for us to really understand or get guidance on how we want to, um, not only trust God with, with how he's going to lead us. It really begins with us, really understanding, you know, And trusting God for who he made us to be. And so, um, I want to take you to Some. Chapter 1 39 verses 13 through 16. And most of us are very familiar with. Um, this first, specifically, But I really want to not only, you know, read this first. Allowed, but really remind you that this is. Always available, no matter what season you're in. And so it starts off on verse 13 for you created my inmost being. Yeah. Knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I'm fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. I know that Falwell. My frame was not hidden from you. And I was made. In the secret place when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. You're I saw my unformed body all the days are deigned for me or written in your book before one of them came to be. And so God made us to be not only fearfully and wonderfully made, right. According to his works. And so I always, you know, have to like remind myself and by the way, I have like this verse in my closet. Here in my office, but. It really just reminds me of. You know, he. Put me together even before. I was in my mother's womb. And. It's just, you know, like my brain doesn't. Really. Um, really understand it. Like my brain doesn't have capacity to. You know, understand that he was already working. And, you know, putting me together and all these other things that were like, how was that possible? Like, I wasn't made yet, but it's like, You know, I was. And so, you know, it kind of just giving the perspective of, okay, this is who I am, right. In another verse that I want to share. Which, you know, I actually didn't really pay attention until I actually got to this chapter in the book. And. Pretty much talks about, you know, um, how he makes us, you know, different and how he makes us. You know, specifically for who we are. And so I want to take you to one Corinthians chapter 4, 4, 7. Or he, where it says for who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you both, as though you did not. And so this sometimes takes me into, um, Well, the reason this one, this first really stands out to me. Is because. Sometimes in the situation that we're in, right? The challenges that are given to us in the circumstances. We sometimes question, you know, And we try to blame ourselves right. In a way where. Sometimes it doesn't make sense. In a way or like, oh, if I could, if I could have been better, if I should have. You know, look to this way, or if I would've, you know, had this personality, I wouldn't be going through this and that's not true. And I, and again, you know, like not only is that the enemy, but that is just our mind. Taking us into this spiral of, you know, not recognizing that one. Got to meet us for who we are. Right? Some of us have more anxiety than others. How. Some of us get angrier quicker than others. Some of us are very impatient, right. Again, I may be speaking here only about myself. But I promise you, we are all different for a reason. God made us different. God made some of you more patient guide made some of you more joyful. God made some of you. Um, less anxious and maybe instead of anxiety, you just get stressed out, whatever that may look like for you, maybe you, um, you know, aren't able. To see, well, you don't have a 2020 vision or, you know, um, your hearing is going bad, whatever that may be right. Um, W whatever that may look like for you. God has made you in a way where he's created you. To be not only fearfully, wonderfully made, but he's made you according to his image in order to serve his kingdom in the way that he made you. And so I think that when we can. Dissect this and really understand that. Hey, you know, I'm not as patient. As my sister, I'm not as patient as my husband. And that's okay. This is my weakness, right? This is the challenge that God has given me. I want to pray through that. I'm going to ask him to help me through this. And especially during the situations, right. Because some of us. You know, we go into immediate anxiety. Right. I immediately went into lake. You know, disbelief like, oh my gosh, I can't believe this is happening. It is something that I did wrong. Is this something that, you know, I could have done better and I immediately have to come to realization that. I had nothing to do with me. This was something that was out of my control. And so at the same time, You want to be able to, um, Um, sort, I'm looking here. To clarify the truth, right. And really be open to. What has already been said about who we are and for that. You know, God has given us his word. And so again, Trusting out for who you are, is going to help us. It's going to help you. Then get direction on trusting guide. For guidance. And so in this chapter, He talks about how. You know, in order for us to, um, you know, be guided, we want to be able to trust him. We want to be able to trust God. Right. And so how do we. Now do this, this trusting, right? Because now we're like, okay, this is now an action. How do we. Fully trust God. And so for me, it's always been like, okay, it's just a feeling. Is it a thought. Or can it also be an action? Right? And so when you're trusting. I think that we are. In the action line. And so in order for, for me to trust or be in a trusting. Um, or, you know, Not necessarily, um, Doing anything, but in this mentality, In this emotion of trustworthy and trusting. I want to be able to not only. Um, You know, feel confident. Um, and in God and have full confidence in God. But I also want to feel secure. Right? I want to feel safe. And so when we think about all these moments that God has come through for us, that God has never left us. And he's just always with us. We can then. You know, Get into this feeling of, you know, full confidence in him, full confidence, insecure. In what he has in store for us. Meaning. That whatever situation we're in. He's already ordained. He's already. Going to put us through. Whatever challenge we're facing, whatever obstacle it may be. And so when I thought about that, I'm like, Lord, just guide me. I trust you. And I just want to know. You know that I am taking care of. And the only way I know that is by reading your word and spending time with you. And just trusting you in a way where. I am. Not going to. Um, you know, spiral into wanting to have control into wanting to do different things that are. You know, in my brain, I think that it's going to work or it's going to help. I just want to let go. And be able to feel this emotion, this negative emotion I'm going through, which is most of the time confusion. Most of the time doubt most of the time a double-minded right. You know, what should I do next? I could do like 30 different things. Or. You know, what career path am I going to take or what. Um, you know, decision, am I going to make it? Am I going to be financially stable, you know, all these questions. That can come up for you, regardless of what challenging may be. And so in order for me not to go that route, I have to stay grounded. Right. And so for me, Again, looking at. You know what I had read in this chapter, all the highlighting and underlining that I did. The vs stood out to me was Psalms 1 39, 17. Where. It says how precious to me are your thoughts? God, how vast is the sum of them? Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake. I am still with you. And so for me, it was like, you know, He guides me. In his path of righteousness, no matter what he guides me. Even when I think that he's not there available for me. And so. Too. Really put us into perspective, you know, really understanding that yes. You can trust God. Now you may not get a response right away, right? You might not. Um, You know, process or allow that emotion, that negative emotion right away. But what I do know to be true. Is that kind of will always be there for us, even when we think that he isn't and like, that's like the most. Beautiful thing, because even when we're struggling. Even when we're like in this doubt or. Um, even in this confusion, God is still providing God is still, you know, showing us, showing me like, okay, daughter, I got you. I want you to refer to this. I want you to refer to the moment that you thought you had, you know, um, that I had forgotten about you or whatever that may be for you. But knowing that. He has always not only been there for us, but will always make a way based on what he wants for us. And that's what I want to offer you today. I want you to really be honest and. Really ask yourself, you know, am I trusting in action when it comes to, you know, my career, my marriage. My finances, my, my life in general. You know, for who I am. Right. Like, am I trusting God for who he has created already. And that is you. Regardless of what you look like, what, you know, Um, You know, things that you think you lack. Whatever that may be, you know, really. Ask yourself and be honest, you know, where do you stand on that? And if the answer is, you know, you're like, I lack this or I could look like this or whatever they may be. One-on-one you to repent in to. Really begin to pray about. How you can begin to trust God. Four. How he's made you already. And then, you know, whatever, you know, thoughts you have that are maybe keeping you up at night, maybe there are anxious thoughts. Like, I don't know what's going to happen next. Like, you know, my marriage is falling apart. My relationships never work. My fame, my finances are like, you know, I'm going to lose everything or. You know, I'm stuck in my career. I just didn't get promoted or whatever that looks like for you. Be able to write that down and acknowledge that that's just, you. Trying to be in control. Of your future. I'm trying to be in control of what's happening. And also even, you know, you not letting go of. This identity. That you, that you had, and now you're like going through this change. And so, you know, My hopes for you today is two. Decide which thoughts? You. Want to keep and what thoughts you want to let go of? And then, you know, You really begin to stay grounded. And. You know how you want to S just to begin to start to trust him. Because it's hard. I'm not going to lie when, when you're in that situation. And. You're like, I don't know where to go and I'm not encouraged at all. If anything, it's the opposite. Um, disencouraged. I want you to really go back and know that. In order for you to. Phil encouraged. You have to feel. You know that negative emotion at first, you need to allow it. But then. Really recognize that. You can always trust. Always, always trust God in whatever situation you're in and also in your future, because at the end of the day, he's the only one that can make anything happen. But it begins with you taking responsibility and what you need to do. In order for, in order for you to. Calm down and. Start. Doing things out of confidence in God and out of. Um, feeling safe and secure. Because he's always with you. And with that, you know, you can then now begin to trust an action in a way where you're like, okay, What is it that's really happening here. Where am I falling short? And also would I need to pray about, and how can I get grounded into God's word so that I can continue to know more of him. So that I can continue to feel. Um, trusting. And so again, till this exercise. I'm kidding. The bite will get in the word. Really highlight and dissect these verses, because when I tell you it's hard in moments where you're like, man, how did I get here? Or what's really happening here. And you feel like you're just stuck and you have nowhere to go. This is the time that you want to not only trust an action. But also. Really start getting yourself into this habit of seeking him versus. Feeling as if you have to do this all alone. All right, ladies, I hope and pray that this episode of blessed you. And if you know, this really encouraged you and moved you, you. You know, I challenge you to, to share this with another lady, someone that, you know, It's possibly going through something and just doesn't know where to go and maybe, you know, feels lost or double-minded or confused. All right. That's all I have for you today. I hope that you have a beautiful rest of your week by.
