E143: ART BEYOND BARS WITH ELIZABETH MIKOTOWICZ
Dec 14, 2023
Natalia Earle

Today I set down with Elizabeth Mikotowicz. Just five years ago, she was painting murals as a federal inmate. Today, she hosts her own art shows and has successfully launched an environmentally friendly clothing brand inspired by her art. Elizabeth's time in prison opened her eyes to the systemic racism, cruelty, corruption, and inequality in the country. Now, she dedicates herself to exposing these issues to legislation.
In the midst of her healing journey, Elizabeth created a women's clothing brand, including plus sizes, with the aim of helping people from all walks of life. Currently in the editing stages of her memoir, she also channels her experiences into an adult coloring book centered on PTSD and the lessons learned from her own trauma. Buckle up!
