Hey there, beautiful people! Welcome back to this special episode, in which I'm in the guest seat alongside my daughter Jacquelynne, and my business bestie, Maria Moore, is back in the host seat. With wisdom, warmth, and a sprinkle of humor, we share the highs, lows, and in-betweens of balancing work and family responsibilities all while strengthening our personal and professional relationships.

Join us as Jacquelynne and I discuss the trials and triumphs of working together while maintaining a strong, empathetic bond outside of business endeavors.

This episode is for you if you’re navigating the delicate balance between work and family responsibilities. You’re seeking strategies for improving communication and setting boundaries in personal and professional relationships. Or if you’re an entrepreneurial mom or part of a mother-daughter business duo looking for real-life insights and advice.

In this episode, we cover:

  • The journey of Gwendolyn and Jackee in balancing their personal and professional lives.
  • The importance of empathy, respect, and effective communication in their relationship.
  • Strategies for handling overwhelming and stressful moments in business.
  • The lessons learned and growth experienced from firing and rehiring Jackee.
  • Coping strategies for stress, including the “3-minute rule” and spa days.

Meet Jacquelynne Young

Jacquelynne is the Executive Virtual Assistant / Ops Coordinator for our agency, Your Virtual Admin Expert, where she supports me with day-to-day operations and client services. She is literally my right arm. She is the mom of two beautiful children, Q-J and Cory Lin. She is the oldest of three children and a hardcore daddy's girl.

Beautiful people, remember the power of empathy and effective communication in fostering strong, multifaceted relationships. Our ability to understand, respect, and support each other’s roles at home and in business showcases the transformative impact of these qualities in nurturing lasting, meaningful bonds. Whether in moments of conflict or celebration, maintaining open lines of communication and creating a supportive environment is essential for thriving in business and family life.
