OK ASIA
Hello, this is Tannick.
Speaker 2And this is Sarah, and you are listening to Music, alixir a podcast between two friends discussing their favorite Asian artists in music. Hello everybody, welcome to another episode of Music Alixir. I was going to say rants and ramblings, but I need to say Music Alixir first. It is going to be a rants and rambling, so so I'm Sarah, and with me is panic and yeah well, I was going to say first off, we were out celebrating International Women's Day.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, and our birthdays, yes, our birthdays, mm. Hmm, and March being women's month, so you know yes we just did a whole lot of celebrating today.
Speaker 1Yes, yes, yes, yes.
Speaker 2Treated ourselves to all kinds of things.
Speaker 1So we're recording on March 8th.
Speaker 2Yes.
Speaker 1So you you'll know. So happy International Women's Day. I know it's going to come out a little late when this comes out but we'll like to say that because I mean we'll.
Speaker 2Every day is women's day.
Speaker 1March for us is women's month and it's just like anything on your birthday is a girl's day in Japan. Yes, which is so cool, matsuri. Yeah, yes, that's special. Yes, it is.
Speaker 2And I posted my Emperor and Empress dolls. It's cute. They were only origami, but I got them.
Speaker 1Yeah, that is so cute. Yeah, Everybody was doing theirs. You know they were sharing. Our Asians were sharing theirs with also Arashiyone. So thank you everybody for showing all of your beautiful displays. Yes, definitely, Even the ones that you know, or each town have their own display, I believe in people were taking pictures and showing on social media which they were somewhere like so grand.
Speaker 2Wow, now there's places like just hundreds of dolls set up. It's amazing, it is just beautiful.
Speaker 1So, like Sarah said, today's Arans and Ramblin, we have lots to talk about, lots to talk about. So we we got. A week or a half ago, I posted a tweet on music elixirs X Twitter regarding a rules that LDH have for fans. So yeah, first that I forgot which day. Anyways, on Twitter verse there was this you know, all these international fans just having a problem with LDH, with these rules, you know, like, don't, if you take pictures from events, don't post it on your social media. You can't take pictures at events.
Speaker 2Right Is what it's supposed to be. So what was the other one? Concerts and events. You can't take photos. You can't take photos without them being aware that you're taking a photo, and then you can't use it on social media Like, right, yeah, it's weird. Like the rules are kind of strange, though I was reading through all of them and some of them are sort of almost contradictory. Yeah, so you can only post the like repost, sorry, retweet and repost the official photos they put up?
Speaker 2Yes, but, like they were saying, you can use photos from magazines and photos of cover, art and whatnot to make posters. To take two events yeah. To show your support. So I'm like, well, isn't that that's still technically stealing the copyrighted of photos, right? So it's very strange. It's very strange, right. I also found it strange that that all came out like the week after we did the episode on psychic fear.
Speaker 1Yeah, and I was gonna say that to you. I was like, wait a minute, we didn't even use any images, which is, like right now, the current most popular new word of the group and it's like, oh, there's something just happening. We're like what Did we do something?
Speaker 2I know? Have you noticed even some of the photos they've been posting on their official site?
Speaker 1are blur.
Speaker 2Yeah, not all of them, just some, yeah. So it's weird because I'm like.
Speaker 1So why are you posting something and then to blur it out? If it's something for like a fan club, then keep it in the fan club. Why are you tweeting it?
Speaker 2That does not make sense. Or if the you know was it a photo, a selfie that the artists took and so because there's something about that, like the images they take of themselves belong to them, so you can't do anything with that, then why post it? But if it's an official, like a promotion photo, you can retweet it, repost it, but you can't copy it, you can't like, you can't screenshot and save it to put on your Tik Tok or your Instagram or your personal blog or anything.
Speaker 2Exactly it's like it's sort of like another company.
Speaker 1Like you can. The only thing you can do is like just repost it, that's it.
Speaker 2Right.
Speaker 1You cannot customize it or make it like if it was your own and you know it. Just you can't, yeah, repost it. As is the same thing with videos. You can share the videos as much as you want, but you cannot screenshot the videos, you cannot snap it, the videos, to make it on your own. It has to just to be in its entirety from the YouTube, of course.
Speaker 2Right, well, and it's yeah. You have to do it to the same social media, like. You can't use it, share it and save it on your social media site? Right, but you cannot even make.
Speaker 1you can't make memes out of it, because that's what people do, yeah, exactly, do little memes and whatever. You cannot alter it, no. And the other one is you cannot support their birthdays with billboards. Yeah, I saw that too. If somebody's birth, you know, like we saw and and you know, and Jimmy, yeah, we're both, you know the same day. You cannot be like happy birthday. You cannot do any billboards or anything out there to tell the world or birthday.
Speaker 2Well, I think you can do the billboard. You can't use their images. It was just about, like using the images to promote it, so you could take out a billboard that just says happy birthday, but like you can't have a picture, nothing. So everybody will be like who's Wisa?
Speaker 1Exactly. And who's Jimmy? Yeah, you know. So it's like you have to be specific If it's the image you know, be like. You know, how are your birthday to Wisa and Jimmy from? So I can figure a group you know which is like, well, that's kind of lame. Yeah, well, that's the thing, you know, it's lame. You want to put their pictures up there.
Speaker 2Well, you know, and it's just, it's crazy because I do understand, they're not taking pictures at, like special events and at concerts, because forever you weren't supposed to take pictures at concerts and stuff. But with cell phones and camera phones, you know, there wasn't a whole lot they could do about it, right? So in the original, cameras on phones were so crappy that they originally weren't too worried about it because you weren't getting good quality anyway, right? But like now, now phones are as good as you know, a digital camera, well, hello iPhone you can support that.
Speaker 1I forgot which iPhone is like. You can use it to make a whole movie, which I think they did. So that's why it's like oh shit.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, we can have these people taking videos of the shows because you know yeah it's going to be look better than the ones that we sell, because you know that's what's going to happen. Well, you know, and there's always people they're going to be paying I don't know how many thousands or 10 thousands of dollars on crew to make a video and the fans make a better video than they do.
Speaker 2Well, that's sort of the whole.
Speaker 2Yeah, they were saying because they don't want people live streaming it which we know happened with several of the concerts that we were watching. Oh yeah, but I did also pay to watch the official ones and I was like, oh well, if for a minute let me just see what's going on, you know. But like I wasn't paying this person, they weren't making money. But I understand from the company's point of view, but they also, you know, think about how many thousands of people can't go to the show and you don't have a DVD, you don't have a live stream option. So people do what they feel they got to do. They'll be crafting. I've talked about my dirty looks. I got taken pictures of Rishi, but I was like it's my one shot.
Speaker 2I waited towards the end, so if I got busted and thrown out I didn't miss a lot. You know I took my moment, but you know it's just. But those I know when you have never seen my pictures online anywhere, they were for me and me.
Speaker 1Yeah, well, you show me. It's not like you said that to me. You'll be like, look, you know, and I, but right on, right here, look at me, he went.
Speaker 2Yeah, I think he was more like hey, they've got a camera. But you know so I mean, that's sort of the, the main one that I'm like, okay, I can see that I understand the point. But, like, if they're already posting the pictures and reposting pictures, I don't see the harm in people like throwing a little hard on it and reposting it. But you can't do that you. You can just straight up, repost it, right, right, like uh, you know, yeah they love fan art.
Speaker 1You can do all the fan art you want. You know that is fine, but you cannot take the pictures.
Speaker 2No, but yeah, you can't use the official pictures, you can't take pictures, so just draw something.
Speaker 1So I'm going to read, because when I made out that tweet, I wanted to hear from fans you know what? What do you know their, their comments on this situation. So I have a comment here from a person out in. I'm going to say they didn't put their name, which, if they do, I'm not going to say their name, but I'm going to tell want to say the where they from, because they have actually put a city in a country. Actually, this person is for Kazakhstan, oh, wow, yeah. So thank you, kazakhstan for listening to the, to music elixir.
Social Media Promotion Strategies for Fans
Speaker 1So this person says international and foreign fans hate it, hate the, the, the rules, the rules from LDAH, because this is the only way for us to enjoy the content outside Japan. Uh, I understand not wanting to pay content to spread, but wanting to tag one, uh, or publish on YouTube. Twitter is unfair. Fan Ed is post in a great promotion strategy to engage between fans and help the group get bigger, or bigger reach, like it happened before with K-pop acts like BTS and Blackpink. That's a good example right there. That's how BTS got huge, you know, yeah, and of course, blackpink as well, and actually any K-pop group that's how they have gotten like who's that cutie?
Speaker 1You know who's that because fans have been making their own Right.
Speaker 2Because when you put the little heart in a picture of you know your face with the moon eyes being like oh you know exactly Like oh, why is he so awesome?
Speaker 1Exactly who is this cute guy and?
Speaker 2everybody's loving him. Yeah, because I mean, reposting and posting is all well and good, yeah, but it doesn't. Even with a comment, you know, sure I can say, oh, this band is awesome, or this group is awesome, or this artist is awesome. People like they're like, where's the personal emotion to that? Me just saying like, typing they're awesome Doesn't give someone a sense of how I really feel, right, whereas if I can throw my little glitter filter on it and my, you know, yeah, my little avatar sharing with the heart, eyes, exactly.
Speaker 2Exactly Then they're like oh, this is this person's very passionate about this group. Maybe I'll check them out. And, like I said before, fans do know how to take pictures, then the actual professionals you know you can get some shots at the professional stuff, Exactly, you know because you're getting there at their natural stage you know, at their like okay, post something.
Speaker 1This you got 20. Make them 20 pieces of makeup. You know pounds of makeup on or right, right, you know whatever, and someone being like looks sassy, exactly, and whatever that lighting and shading and you know BS. Anyways, there's filters, exactly. So we have a person from California. All right, hello California. So this person says the company rules page have existed for years and another fan found, using the way back machine, that the newest rule about the artist images being used for birthdays slash anniversary celebration ads was added in December of 2023.
Speaker 2So that wasn't there on that.
Speaker 1So this fan continues saying the other rules prohibit, prohibiting fans from posting music videos, screenshots and other public s and s photos are pretty ridiculous, but I don't think fans in Japan and intern international have a buy by it, which is true. The only thing that I have seen being enforced is banning fans selling, trading, posting recordings of the paid content of live streams. For now, as crazy as a rule sounds, I don't think they will suddenly start enforcing the reposting s and s social media rules, nor the birthday at rule. The members have posted thanking fans for the birthday ads, as well as visited the fans events in person, and the contradiction is really frustrating.
Speaker 2Yeah, well, that's what I was saying. Like you can, you can take pictures and use it on a poster board to bring to the concert, which they're saying if it's too big and block somebody, they're going to take it away. But so you're still using copyrighted images, but because you're not getting any gain out of it. But I mean just the memes and stuff that people do. They don't get money for that. And then there are some I think she was alluding to the shady people who charge people to watch live stream stuff, which or print out.
Speaker 1Yeah, because we have. We have seen this, we have seen this, where, like he was like hey, there's these pictures. I don't know, like you know, five bucks for this, you know right. You know, like to ask for money for some school's a print house, you know, and yeah, so that's shady.
Speaker 2Well, that's what. Like those official photos, they have certain stamps on the back and I've never tried copying one, but I bet there's something that shows up when you try to copy it, like if you photograph it and copy it might be different, but yeah, so like that, I started to get you know we have a listener from Japan who from Nara, from Nara, japan.
Speaker 1So they say thank you for supporting LDH, you're welcome. We'll try to do here support all these Asian artists. I don't know why this warning was an issue now. This may be due to the, due to the. I heard many overseas fans lamenting LDH needs to listen to them and improve, thank you. So I thinking that, yes, there have been a surge of international fans now liking LDH and hello, which is did that psychic fever? Yeah, you know so I'm sure they have. I mean, come on, we have tagged them on the episode. And hello, we're not Japanese, we're talking in English, they know very well we're, you know Massachusetts, usa, and it's like, oh my God, we're getting that outreach. Yes, you have been getting this outreach. You know where our platform is getting bigger.
Speaker 2Yes, it is. I'm sure they know that you know.
Speaker 1They have gone to my platform. Okay, asia, we has gotten bigger and it's getting bigger. Thank you, thank you, thank you, and that's because of the fans supporting the show, because I'm supporting supporting them as well. I'm not saying that this rule came about because of me, because I mean it happens Supposedly came out in 20, you know, last year, in December 2023.
Speaker 2Well, that's the newest rules. That the first person was saying the rules have been, or the second person said they've been in place for a long time, yeah, and that's what I mean they have. They have Technically. Most companies don't want you doing that. Bts was the exception and we've talked about that before. Exactly, they were sort of self promoting Right, so they encouraged it, but most other companies frown upon that. Yeah, Everything we do as far as posting about the artists that we do right involves no images.
Speaker 2No occasionally we just retweet something that already exists.
Speaker 1Exactly.
Speaker 2A post from an official site or whatever, right. So it wasn't because of us, it wasn't what we're doing, or what you're doing with the radio, because you're not posting images either, I'll have to say.
Speaker 1I do. Okay, asia does have a website. Now, the images that I have for the articles that I have posted, those images were provided by the company. It's not like I just grabbed it and make an article. No, these, you know, the company have reached out to me and be like hey, someone's doing this promotion, let me send you a. They send me the promo. You know, that's why I have the images, which is very interesting that I'm saying that, because then there is a tweet that I share with you from Jeff. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1Well, this can also tie into what we're talking because of LDH. And then, okay, so I'm, I've been given permission, given to me from the company. So, of course, since they know they're giving it to me, if I post it, I'm not going to get flagged. Unfortunately, if you're not okay, asia, dj Panic or Music Elixir, you take it from my content, you put it on yours as yours, you may get flagged. So that's, that's, that's the deal. You do need to get permission for this. I get this from the companies because, of course, this is money that they have paid somebody to take pictures, promotions and whatever. It's just like saying you know, if I don't know, let's say the Mona Lisa. Let's say somebody makes a copy of it and say this is I'm going to post it on my gallery and this is my Mona Lisa. You know they'll be like no, this is my art, why are you doing copying and putting it on your stuff? You know, like taking credit for it. So I see that because there's money. It's all about money, oh yeah definitely.
Speaker 1You know, I know, as fans, we're like we want to do as much as we can to support our favorite. But if you're using content that the company already have paid people for and it's like hey, listen this, this people are using my image, you got to pay me. I mean the company is like well, I cannot pay you, I already pay you, yeah.
Speaker 2So that's why you got to take care of our deal. So you have to go after the people, exactly.
Speaker 1So it's amazing, I can see, I can see that you know, as an artist point of view, you know, like, like our stuff, that we're like geez, we're copying us, like you know, changing little things, like what.
Speaker 1I mean, we cannot do anything except well, it's not. You're not copying you because it's not as per verbatim. You know it's not exactly like you say. Yeah, so that's why we're like anyways. So I see them, yes, I see that. So I don't know, maybe one day, you know, the companies will be like hey, fans, this is a content that you can use, spread it out.
Speaker 2Let's get it like what about all those say fan meet stuff, you know where you can take a photo with the group. Well, isn't that your photo? So can't you? You know what I mean? So right, so I guess there's a difference between the fan meet photos and you being at an event that they're doing and just taking photos. But that's sort of a fine line.
Speaker 2You know, what I'm saying. So I don't know, because we got pictures of ourselves with some people and yeah, I haven't posted on my site because it's for me and I'm like, oh God, I look terrible in pictures. This is just for me to remember that I met them, yeah, but you know I mean. So, yeah, that's another one of those. It's a fine line thing because I'm in that photo too, so I can do whatever I want with it. But apparently you can't because the artist didn't agree to let you put it all over social media, so you got to blot out their faces or something, and yeah, it's, it's all crazy, but like I said it was just funny because we did that episode.
Speaker 2Yeah, on psychic fever, and they were all over Twitter and stuff going on and then all of a sudden this happened and I was like what's this? But we didn't use any images.
Speaker 1What's going on?
Speaker 2Yeah, like you said, we're influencers.
Speaker 1We are influencers, girl, you know this. Like date, I mean, if I'm tagging you, I'm sure you're going to be seeing it. You may like what is this? And it's like, oh really, look at that following, oh really. And I'm like, yeah, really, get a hold of me. Hello, come on. It's not like my DM is not open. Our deal is like my. Our DM is not open.
Speaker 2Well, ours, yours, mine. Exactly we got three of them. Just choose Exactly. Oh my goodness, Even through.
Speaker 1OK, your website. You can. I sounded like I sing out of the last time.
Speaker 2You, can you can.
Speaker 1So, with that being said, in a lot of copyright infringement and a lot of this and using people's stuff, we follow this amazing, amazing writer. Actually more than a writer, I mean, he has been a host. He has been probably the one of the voices of K-pop industry. I'm going to say his name because I would love to reach out to him. His name is Jeff Benjamin, now that I said that a lot of people do follow him. He's a writer for Billboard Forbes. He was also with oh my God, I forgot the name, but that he got let go.
Speaker 1I'm like title so, but I think there's still some links in there. I'm not sure Could be. Yeah, so he had. His was way out there. So a couple of, a couple of episodes ago I was peeved. Oh, because, like I said, sarah and I have these copycats who have been taking our words, twist them and also use some of our cost content or our creations, and just differently, you know, with a twist.
Speaker 1Yeah, twit them a little and make them their own and we're like but we have made our voice heard and I'm sure those people who probably listening to us again To their core. So what happened? Benjamin had the same issue, same problem, but this was like copied, like copy every word of his article. So he had I'm going to read his tweet because I'm like I'm going to read this tweet because he's so sassy.
Speaker 2And you know what you know it's you know, yeah, yeah, come on.
Speaker 1So he's so. Benjamin put out on March 6th, made out this tweet saying for Koreaboo he says you guys copy so many details and exact phrases from my article, including the angle about her being the brand's first musician. I thought I would at least link. I thought you would at least link my article, you think so? Apparently, this is an article that he have created for Billboard, that he wrote for Billboard on Jisoo. His article on Billboard is the items that you should showcase. I guess it's for a collection, a new collection that she's throwing. So Koreaboo is took that, I guess, his article and posted as theirs.
Speaker 2So, or a portion of it, they took, like his most descriptive parts, but used all the impact statements you know. So then he kept saying.
Speaker 1But what really exposed you was saying the partnership that was unveiled through an exclusive photo of Jisoo donning a striking blue dress, when that was billboards exclusive photo to reveal. So again, remember when I said the pictures that I have putting on my website is because those were shared from the company to me only. So the same thing happened here when built. You know it's like hey, jeff, here you go for your article, here's some pictures and whatnot to post. So Koreaboo did the same, did the same, but actually just took it Just this, like you copy paste exactly this is, you know, like, listen, this is our image for us.
Speaker 1This is not for you to use.
G Idol Super Lady Drama
Speaker 2Oh yeah, yeah, so that does. That ties right in with the LDH. What I like when he ends his tweezing.
Speaker 1So what happened here, Koreaboo?
Speaker 2How I will. Well, aren't they? They're like one of the sort of like tabloids.
Speaker 1Oh, they're tabloids, you know they're not really.
Speaker 2I mean, I still read stuff that they have, just because you know, yeah, they get those catchy, flashy headlines or whatever you're like what?
Speaker 1Exactly. I gotta see what that is. I know because that's how they like to, that's how they really win. Alien baby. Exactly, they like to throw some shade and when you look in your like oh please go away, you know.
Speaker 2that's why I like to read all that with a grain of salt.
Speaker 1Yeah, so it's definitely. So yeah, so here, yeah, there you go yeah.
Speaker 2I'm like Jeff, I know how you feel. Meet him at the shit show. Yes, we did.
Speaker 1We briefly say hello to him.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1You know I introduce myself. We exchange cards. I still have his, have his card.
Speaker 2But yeah, that was the 2019 KX by the shit show, as we like to call it, my God.
Speaker 1What I love to ask him questions about that I know.
Speaker 2Do you remember? How can we forget?
Speaker 1how many people him? He probably will not remember us, I mean.
Speaker 2I mean yeah, no, no, no no.
Speaker 1I mean, does he?
Speaker 2remember. Oh, my God.
Speaker 1No, no, I don't mean him remembering us. I mean, like him remembering, yeah, I'm sure he has some horrors, horrors, stories about that event. I'm sure, yeah, I am sure. So I'm sure I will love to talk to him about that, if we can get on for a pocket episode, because I do will love to talk to him.
Speaker 2Oh, I know, I got some questions.
Speaker 1That would be awesome. We could ask him about that event, if he can say things you know.
Speaker 2Yeah, because we have a slightly different. You know, we can talk about the way we do. There's no way to pay us for this. It's our opinions, Exactly and solely our opinions.
Speaker 1Exactly so. You know that's some balls. How can you do that Easy, people do it all the time, hello, so.
Speaker 2I'm glad that Jeff did that my practically word for word description. Yeah, no, girl, that one I was like ah yeah, again that's some balls right there yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, and nobody says anything. We said no, no, no, ok, anyways well.
Speaker 2I was going to say. What I wanted to talk about was because I had sent you an article a couple of weeks ago. We talked about G Idol. Yes, super lady, did you remember the article I sent you? Yes, this is hysterical. Now I got this from G Idol charts Twitter.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Like dude, I don't know a fan group it could be a fan.
Speaker 2Officially follow, but anyway it could be a rumor, so we don't know, but it's funny. So, I'm going to call this the filet under shit. That only happens in movies, but apparently happened in real life and I just think this is fabulous because Super Lady is a kick ass song. Yes, apparently, two men in a gay club got into a fight over who was going to sing so Yun's part in Super Lady, and I was like, oh my god, I had visions of, like you know, rupaul's Drag Race.
Speaker 1Oh my god, yes.
Speaker 2And, like you know, just all these different images flashing through my head of just these two guys like screaming no.
Speaker 1I'm going to sing it. I'm going to sing it.
Speaker 2Oh my god, so we don't know if it's really true, but this was the article that they posted and I thought it was awesome, because everybody wants to sing Super Lady, right, of course.
Speaker 1So of course. What's the?
Speaker 2what? What your eyes, your eyes. I don't know Like of course You're like, yeah, everybody's just going to fight to sing this because it's a kick ass song.
Speaker 1It is a kick ass song.
Speaker 2So it was just funny and that's why I would say it's. It's totally like something out of reality TV, which we all know is not real, or a movie Like it's so exaggerated sound.
Speaker 1I'm thinking that these two people were already like to shit to the wind yeah, very drunk. Then this super lady comes around and they're like I'm gonna be saying that, now that's me, I can see this. It's. They're like drunk out of their mind, exactly. Yeah, this is a very intoxicated people that just love this song.
Speaker 2But it's just awesome. I think that that's just like the coolest thing, right? Yeah, I don't want to be there. No, I don't want to be in a fight. I'm like what is to?
Speaker 1what? What would you? But I wonder what the what's? What's her name from? G? I don't yeah, like we'll say, if like really that happened, what. I'm trying to put myself in her shoes and be like you know what the real question is.
Speaker 2If she were at the club, would they still fight to sing it, or would they let her do her thing? Because, come on, you got to let the queen have her Of course.
Speaker 1Oh, my God.
Speaker 2But I just, it just struck me as such. I was like, wow, you don't really hear about this happening. You know what I mean, other than movies or reality TV that we all know is exactly. Mostly scripted Exactly.
Speaker 1Yeah, no, that's when you show me I'm like what? No way, no, like I'm a little jealous, but hey girl, people are fighting for that part. Oh my God, that's amazing.
Speaker 2That was awesome.
Speaker 1It is.
Speaker 2That was like my favorite news because it was just so lighthearted and funny. You know what I mean. Well, I guess a fight's not really funny, but like it just sounded so, so comical to think of people arguing over it, I'm going to say that, no, I'm like, exactly, I'm like envisioning pulling hair and apparently it just not about the article.
Speaker 1Say that they were actually pulling hair, yeah.
Johnny's Entertainment News and Speculation
Speaker 2And the you know the slap, not punching each other, but just slapping, slapping each other. Oh my God. So no, I do not promote violence. It is not really funny, but like it's just when you read it and you you're hearing it, you're like like who does that?
Speaker 1Yeah, they just have to be drunk. Yeah, they had to be, they had Absolutely.
Speaker 2There were a gay bar.
Speaker 1Yeah, you were a bar A bar Bar.
Speaker 2Yeah, bar Straight Says it all. It's a bar. Exactly, alcohol is involved.
Speaker 1There's going to be something ridiculous, I fight about something ridiculous and that's just like wow, yeah, this is my song, I'll bet.
Speaker 2You know somebody else? No, it's my song.
Speaker 1I don't be singing this one, no, because that's my girl, that's my part, exactly.
Speaker 2I can do it better than you.
Speaker 1You can't sing oh man. Okay, so sorry.
Speaker 2And I'm doing a reenactment.
Speaker 1Oh, my God.
Speaker 2So yeah, that was just too, much too much. Yes, what else have we got?
Speaker 1Another big announcement that happened on March 1st. It's about start to entertain. Yes, they finally going to start their new agency as of April, right April, oh my God, what is it?
Speaker 2Well, the show is happening like right April 10th.
Speaker 1They're having a Tokyo Dome on April 10th, then also on Kyocera Dome on the 29th and 30th of May. Groups confirmed so far are news Super 8, katoon Heisei-jam, kiss my Foot, abcz, west King, young Prince, stoomz, snowman, naniwadanshi and Travis Japan. Now Kinky Kids will not perform as Tomoto Koichi has the opening for the show Endless shock, endless shock, oh my God. Endless.
Speaker 2My joke of never ending shock Because it's been running for years, really Like 20 years, you tell me, yeah, exactly. It's like 25 years maybe. Wow, like a long time yeah.
Speaker 1Damn. And then also a comment that the appearance of 20th century and sexy zone is pending for the confirmation on their schedule. As we know, sexy zones is going to be brand new at the end of March. March 31st, kenty will be leaving the company.
Speaker 2No leaving the group, Leaving the group Staying in the company.
Speaker 1They're going to get a new name, so Washi Domo is also leaving the company, but staying with Kinky Kids, which is the pop-asset of what Kenty is doing. And of course, there's no longer a sexy zone because there's supposed to be a new name for that Right, I can't wait.
Speaker 2I know.
Speaker 1I mean I can't wait for the new name. But if I'm sad about Kenty, well that's okay, you know he's still in the company and then. But Orations are like is going on with Irishie, right? Because there's the dot dot dot and more Exactly, but Edmore could be juniors, right? You know, maybe the upcoming new debutant group we have Aya group. I don't think they have debuted it yet, right, I don't think so either.
Speaker 1Whatever happened to HiHiJets? It's like they's gone. You know that was another group that I'm like they haven't debuted it. What's going on with HiHiJets? And they have posted a few videos and then I don't know. But yeah, it's hard.
Speaker 2Because so much is going on there right now.
Speaker 1So, and then there's some groups that I never heard of and I'm like, oh, these kids, these are junior juniors, right.
Speaker 2And I'm like, oh, geez, these are babies Like, yeah, 10 year old to 11 year old.
Speaker 1Yeah, still yeah, or the tinier children, but not our grandchildren yet, just children. So yeah, we'll see what's going on here. And, of course, there was a rumor. You want to start, you want to talk about that rumor, oh, of.
Speaker 2RRC possibly performing and their speculation about? Are they pressuring O'Noill? This is again. This is all sort of, like you know, social media, twitterverse, right Rumor mill stuff going on. So we right, we haven't seen I haven't anyway seen anything official about them talking to him, approaching him, anything but people. People's concern and very rightly is like he wanted to retire and as much as I'm like I'm keeping my RRC thing till they come back, I don't want him pressured into doing it and that's what people are concerned that he's possibly going to get strong armed into coming back to do this as sort of like RRC the saviors coming to reboost the company, you know.
Speaker 2look, we got O'Noill back Exactly Because I even in all of the stuff they've been doing themselves officially, I haven't seen any mention of RRC.
Speaker 1Right.
Speaker 2So this, but this is again because of the dot, dot, dot and more. Everybody's like, ah, you know, speculating and hoping. As much as I'd love to see him, I don't want it to be under duress, you know, right, and we know that the guys have all been getting together and talking and chilling and hanging out because they've got a bond they're they truly care about each other. So they're not going to just cut ties. But Ono has made it pretty clear that he was done. So it's hard to say they're still Irish, he's still got his photo with the company and stuff. But it's going to, it's going to take a whole lot of something special to get him on board. I think, yeah, let's just hope it's not a negative pressure of any sort. Right, you can see June and Nino. Come on, dude, just come back, come back, come on, it'll be fun, mm.
Speaker 1Hmm, it's so. Oh, and apparently the tickets for start the concert cost 15,000 yen.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's like 150 bucks, Mm. Hmm, hey, welcome to the inflation. Yeah, actually that's, that's huge, because well no actually somebody gave a break down.
Speaker 1So for the countdown of 2020, it was 9800 yen.
Speaker 2OK.
Speaker 1And then for Johnny's Festival 2021, it was 12,000 yen.
Speaker 2OK, so that was 120 98. Well, I know for for Hawaii that it was $150 for their tickets.
Speaker 1Mm, hmm.
Speaker 2But yeah, I'm like wait a minute. I haven't actually been to a concert in Japan, so I don't know if the prices are right. Like we did, we did the online stuff.
Speaker 1So you know people are also hoping. That is we're asking is June. You know. You know much to do, or much to do, mj, it's the director of this, you know. Event.
Speaker 2I don't know. Well, he's been kind of busy, I know. You know he had all his other stuff going on, so we know.
Speaker 1But so so yeah, people are like also wondering if he is going to be doing that. I mean, they think it would have said just like remember that event. And he's like oh, what's the motto June will be doing for this, which you know? We love it.
Speaker 2he did amazingly, of course, so I don't know Well, and actually that his perspective is going to be he's doing a live virtual tour on that like a live stream, so actually they should. I haven't seen anything about it, but they should. For this we are let's get the party start though event going on. They should live stream. That they should. I haven't seen anything about it, but they should. I haven't seen that either because, like all the other events we've paid to view online.
Speaker 1It's not like we haven't seen any exactly, so that that it was available for fans. Yeah, but speaking of you know, available for fans. Sexy Zones last show was going to be available for fans at their YouTube channel. Oh, yeah, yeah, this is the only time to see them live. I know, hmm, that's it, that's it. No more sexy zone it's going to be, I don't know what else.
Speaker 2But that might be why they're not slated yet to be part of this event, Because they've been part. You know they started as five, they lost one. You know you have to adjust when a member leaves Right, so I wonder if it's just you know, because this is all happening, they won't have enough time to prepare as a trio to be a part of this event.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, maybe still. Oh, my God, just do the sexy song, all music with three. No because there's some parts that can't.
Speaker 2These parts, you know right, that's what I mean. You can't. How do you rearrange? I mean they could do it, but I don't think in that short amount of time. No, it's ridiculous.
Speaker 1That's not not fair. No, no, no. So, yeah, Like Super 8, they just all they needed to do is just change the name. You know, the same thing with West. They were. You know, let's just change the name, that's fine, but with the no with this.
Speaker 2Yeah, losing a member changes everything.
Speaker 1So, yeah, I don't see Fuma Shorty and so out there in this event, unless they're like hosts, you know they could host the event, do some sort of in between, just sort of comical thing Making like what they do during. Maybe they can go back to their junior years and back up, back up the bay, the groups and dance.
Speaker 2I'm sure, I'm sure, I'm sure, I'm sure, behind their son. I would love to be a backup for Katyn. Or he say jump, because you know he loves Yamada. Oh my you can see it.
Speaker 1There you go. Be, be the backup again. Be, go back to your junior years. Be the backup for your implies. Oh my God, I would love to see that. That would be awesome.
Speaker 2That would be awesome.
Speaker 1Come on Somebody have Fuma, do that.
Speaker 2The only one.
Speaker 1Yeah, only Fuma. You know you get a rag on here. I can see him going. Why do I need to do this? Why do I have to do junior stuff? Oh my God, yes, please.
Speaker 2That would be awesome. People don't love it. Come on, oh my God, he loves Katyn.
Speaker 1He loves Higgs to jump.
Speaker 2Yes, he does, oh my God. Oh my God, that's too funny, oh my God.
Speaker 1Anything else. Have you found anything else?
Speaker 2That's all the the newsy news news. The only other stuff is like V coming out with a new digital single, friends. That would be Sorry, I've been teasing us with photos and videos. I know Friends and and then J-Hope's Hope on the Street album. He's coming out with some collaborations with other people and D-Day Sugar's D-Day movie is coming out in April.
Speaker 1It's going to be in theaters OK.
Speaker 2So we got to see this. Yeah, I know.
Speaker 1But, like, like, we got to see this Definitely. So, yeah, we got to keep an eye and get our tickets. Yes, do you think it's going to be over here?
Discussion on BTS and Fan Support
Speaker 2I'm pretty sure, yeah, because they get all of that stuff Any live shows being sent out as movies and stuff they get. So, ok, I've got it already tagged as a thing. Tell me when this happens. Ok, tell me when it's out so we can do it. Ok, yeah, we definitely got to see a Sugar August D. Oh, oh, yeah, d-day movie. Yeah, did I tell you? There's all right, this is just a weird random thing.
Speaker 2Every day when I leave my house I drive by this little set of parking spaces and there is a. It's a Jeep, I believe, but it's like a pickup truck. It's one of those weird hybrid. So it looks like a Jeep with a pickup truck bed. Ok, it's very weird and boxy, but it's this strange sort of olive green but not army green. Every time I see it all I can, I'm like it's the D-Day truck. I was like it just makes me think of D-Day August D. I don't know why, if it's the color of the truck, the industrial-ness of it, like it's. So, yeah, it looks like a vehicle, sugar would have showed up in the back of to an event to promote D-Day Interesting, because D-Day has sort of this military reference. Yes, so the truck sort of has this military look to it. So I just every day I'm like it's the D-Day truck. I'm like why does my brain go there? How does it jump there?
Speaker 1There's gonna be. It's probably triggering some colors that we saw at the show.
Speaker 2Right, I think it's in. You know the D-Day shirts we've got with the camo on the back yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think that green is in the shirt.
Speaker 1Oh.
Speaker 2But the design's on the back, so I don't see Right, unless I pick the shirt up to look at it and go, oh, I'll wear this today.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2So of course, now it just keeps happening because I'm like it's the D-Day truck, because I know the movie's coming.
Speaker 1Oh my God, I knew I wanted to tell you about that and I'm like, oh my God the sugar thing.
Speaker 2Tell Sarah, yeah. And then Jin is coming home and, oh gosh, it's probably like 90 days now. Really, yeah, he'll be out very soon. I think he gets out June 7th. He gets out in the beginning of June. What it's like, right before their anniversary he gets out.
Speaker 1Oh, ok, he's going to be busy, he'll be the only one. He is going to be busy.
Speaker 2Ok, yeah, everyone's already like does he have an album coming out? What's he doing Exactly? Yeah, like what. And there's an interesting thing Like everybody's like. Well, like on my birthday I told you right on my birthday was the day Vee announced the new digital single coming out. Rm came on to the Weverse, jimin came on I mean not live, but he was interacting with fans, he was posting stuff. So RM, jimin and J-Hope All of this happened on my birthday. I was like what is going on?
Speaker 1Did you go?
Speaker 2happy birthday, damn but so everyone knows we miss Suga. He has been completely silent.
Speaker 1Really.
Speaker 2There has been nothing posted from him other than when he went to see everybody off when they enlisted back in December. But I have a theory. I had read somewhere. Someone was saying they get a certain number of days off but they can save their days off to get out earlier, to get released earlier. So I have this theory that he's not using his days off, he's not on social media to sort of prove that he's not taking time off, so that he, because he's in longer than everybody else, because he's doing the civil servant duty as opposed to active, I think he's doing that so he can use his time to get out early when all of the other guys end their enlistment in 2025.
Speaker 1Yeah, oh, ok.
Speaker 2So that's just my theory, because for that anniversary they'll all technically be out just in time for the anniversary, except him. But if he saves his days and use sort of like vacation days, you know, like, oh, like we did, I'm going to lose my job. So I'm going to take my vacation the last two weeks of the job. Right, I think that's what he's doing. Is he saving it up so he can get out earlier, earlier? That's my theory. I don't know.
Speaker 1Hey, if I can do that, yeah Right why not, so that's my theory.
Speaker 2He's saving it to get out in time for the 2025 anniversary.
Speaker 1I mean I said why not? If you can do that, go for it. Yeah, absolutely, you know.
Speaker 2And it's totally something he would do, right, yeah, because he so he thinks that way, he's so frugal, like well, I just won't take any time off. Exactly.
Speaker 1Not that he ever does anyway.
Speaker 2But you know, just be like I'm just going to work, do my thing and then leave early.
Speaker 1Exactly. Well, it's sugar. You know he's like one that's not always out there doing the V. You know the the lives and whatever. And stuff.
Speaker 2He's more about doing the work, the life he's just either painting or doing something.
Speaker 1He doesn't really like interact much.
Speaker 2No, he doesn't.
Speaker 1It's funny.
Speaker 2It's often a staring contest, exactly.
Speaker 1He just sits there staring Exactly so it's just like you know, like I'm just going to do that and then just get on the beat. We all, you guys, Well, he.
Speaker 2Well, but like his, his drinking show there. Like he likes to interact with people, he likes to talk to people. That's what. That's what he's waiting for to be back together, all right.
Speaker 1OK, I'm better.
Speaker 2Sorry, we had to pause for a moment. We're both, I think, talked out.
Speaker 1I forgot my water.
Speaker 2Well, and I'm getting that like hoarseness again. Ok, we've talked a lot.
Speaker 1I know we talk very passionately, you know, today because of things that happen. You know, like things that happen are just only to us, but people who are being in Billboard.
Speaker 2I know like plainly out black and white.
Speaker 1pretty much that was bullseye. And of course, you know we voice out what you know. Fans have also concern about the LTH, like to the HM, you know, and, and we feel the same because we're fans and we like to do the thing, you know, you know similar things. You know we like to post and do things, but we've been reposting with the obsession of maybe some ones that we take for ourselves but don't share it because we know the rules, but you know we feel the fans.
Speaker 1We want to support our faves the best we can and you know we we feel frustrated too because we don't see the actual company doing anything for them.
Speaker 2And right, you know well it's just also, you know, like the, the promotions and stuff. Those are all well and good in it and its exposure, but like what the fans do, like I really do love seeing some of the crazy things people do, clipping together snippets of various artists and, you know, just make it like a crazy thing to you know, Looney Tunes, music or whatever. It's just fun, it's creative and it's just you feel like someone's sharing a part of that. Like this is how they see their artists right, as goofy, crazy, serious, whatever, right, you know, and it's so, it's just it's an expression and sort of allows you to get to know each other without knowing each other online. Like, right, oh, this is a lighthearted, fun, love and person who really enjoys it, you know, so it's just it's fun to see how creative people get. Yeah, but I do, you know, like I said, the promotional stuff it's all. But, like, you want to see the artist being human, to looking human, being treated as human, so it's hard.
Speaker 1Anyways, but thank you everybody for those who participated and send your comments on regarding that. Thank you everybody for also, just, you know, just supporting us, you know, and in in also sending tweets about groups that have dropped new albums not naming me.
Speaker 2Yeah, that was like a challenge.
Speaker 1Exactly, it was like, plainly like hey.
Speaker 2I'll wait for that. Through down the gauntlet. Well, we're picking it up, the challenge accepted.
Speaker 1We're already working on it. Yeah, exactly so. No, that's amazing. Thank you everybody for participating, for listening to. You know our podcast episodes, or how crazy or informative that could be if there, if it can be informative for some of you, no, we're, we're very happy and we're very grateful for you.
Speaker 2Yes, definitely, absolutely. All right, my turn. Oh no, oh no.
Speaker 1OK, so anyways, please read, review and share, share, share. Give us five stars, please, because we love our constellations, and please be a subscriber. Yes, support us, yes, yes.
Speaker 2Yes, in any way you feel, yes, you can.
Speaker 1So until next time. Yes, bye, bye yeah.
