What happens when a rock band from Japan and a K-pop sensation both take Boston by storm on the same weekend? Join us on this rainy day episode of Music Elixir as we recount an unforgettable weekend of high-energy concerts and cultural insights. Panic kicks off with a vivid narrative about the Japanese band SiM, reflecting on their evolution and the charismatic presence of frontman MAH and his respectful yet firm stance on concert etiquette, including a memorable moment addressing an overzealous fan's filming.

Shifting gears, we plunge into the vibrant chaos of the P1Harmony K-pop concert in Boston. From the ear-splitting screams of devoted fans to the efficiency of the venue's crowd management, this show was an electrifying whirlwind, despite the absence of member Jiung. We share our awe at the dedicated fanbase, the unexpected need for earplugs, and the unofficial pink dress code that seemed to unify the audience. The energy was palpable, and we couldn't help but express our hope for more K-pop acts making their way to Boston soon.

Lastly, we tackle the critical issue of concert ticket resale and accessibility. Hear our light-hearted but earnest discussion on the frustrations of obtaining genuine tickets and the impact of resale prices on true fans. We highlight the unfair practices affecting ADA seating and the broader controversy of exorbitant ticket fees, calling for better regulation and legislative intervention. From the challenges faced by fans to the recent legal actions targeting the broken ticketing system, we cover it all. Plus, a delightful surprise involving BTS and MONSTA X members in military uniforms adds a fun twist to our conversation. Don't miss our imaginative "DeLulu" moments speculating their potential collaboration!

Speaker 1

Hello everybody, welcome to another episode of Music Elixir.

Speaker 2

with me, sarah, and I'm DJ Panic Sorry about I don't know. No, sorry, sorry, but not sorry, I'm tired.

Speaker 1

Well, it's a really rainy day here and we were at a show last night, so we're dragging ass a little yeah.

Speaker 2

My weekend consisted of going to boston you know, friday I went to boston to see sims, uh in, uh all that sunday, yes, you know, went to see p harmony with you, p1 harmony with you. Uh, I'm, I'm like so drained and dehydrated I'm good though.

Speaker 1

Well, so how? How was sim?

Speaker 2

sim was amazing. It was their last show. Boston was their last stop. It was all loud. I feel like I was back in the 90s because it was like screamo all the time. So you had. There were more bands before them. We had Crystal Lake, which is also from Japan. Then you had Within Destruction, Also from Florida.

Speaker 1

We have Fame on Fire which is family's favorite.

Speaker 2

And then, of course, sim. It's kind of cool because towards the end Sim and some of the band members from the other groups. They sang with them and that was a really cool ending for the encoresores. So for those who left early for the encore, you missed out some awesome, because there were some people who just, like, started walking out. I'm like, why are you leaving on the encore?

Speaker 2

no, sometimes a lot of people do you know they're surprises and yeah exactly sims, you know, some band members from the other groups were just there singing, like some other favorites, you know, or or more popular songs, but it was awesome, uh. So if you do not know who sim are the, you can find it on youtube. They've been around since oh my god, 2010, 2002 they're an old.

Speaker 1

I thought like 2008 maybe. Yeah, they were like early 2000s. Yeah, they've been around a while.

Speaker 2

They have been around. Things have changed in the group. Some members have gone and come back, you know, like every group, but they have stayed together and Ma the singer is amazing. He is funny, he is chaos. He is just what you want on a front man for that type of music.

Speaker 2

He speaks his mind I like that he speaks his mind at one point he he said do you guys think that we are an anime band? I'm like no, because there's people who say that we are an anime band. Yes, some other hits have been in, like attack on titan is one of them. Attack on titan is like one of the biggest animes. Yeah, oh yeah. So people just think that they.

Speaker 1

That's all they do exactly, and you know music for anime which is so not true, you know anyway, so he gave that speech and I'm like he is being sassy.

Speaker 2

I like that from a front man and then from japan.

Speaker 2

It's so different, you know, seeing a front man from japan being that sassy you know, because most of the time they're very polite, but he's just like I don't give an f, I'm telling you my two cents. I'm like, yeah, that's why I love it so much. So he that was one of you know, taking a break too from the screaming that he sometimes have to do, from the melodic to the screaming, because he's one of them that it's not all screamo. So he also proceeded to say that at the beginning of the concert out in denver or phoenix, because it's so dry, he messed up his vocals so they even had to cancel a show because he couldn't sing wow, that's brutal.

Speaker 2

So he was still recuperating. So he just said I'm still recuperating, if you, you know, if you feel like my voice is not there, it's just the dry air from the tour. So so he explained. But we're like can he still do amazing? He's still like being just being himself. So but towards the end, love this. Like I said, he speaks his mind, but he's very respectful. He started saying we're both, have you know, us and Japan. Our cultures are so many differences but they're awesome as well. I know that everybody here in the US and I respect your culture, just like you respect my culture I know here in the US everybody likes to take pictures and videos and put out your cameras and on shows and whatever, and I respect that because I'm not in japan and that's your culture.

Speaker 2

You know right or wrong, exactly because actually we're not supposed to we're not in the us, it's true everybody just does exactly.

Speaker 1

People don't care and actually we've talked about that before.

Speaker 2

Oh yeah, oh yeah, I was respectful, I didn't do any of that. I just wanted to just experience this show. I'm not there for work, you know meaning. Meaning work. If it's something for, you know, okay, asia, or music elixir, where of course we take pictures and whatever for to put on our, you know, respected platforms. So I'm there to just experience the awesomeness. That is just sim.

Speaker 2

So after he said that, he goes to the middle of the stage, he sees this guy and he goes you and points out, which is also a no-no in japan. Yeah, you don't point out on anybody, but he was just like. You know, I'm not in japan, so it's like I'm free, I can do what I want, I can just say what I need to say. Points out, this guy goes you. You had enough, no more this, just this. You can't do this anymore, stop. No more video, no more pictures, that's it. And the guy was just like uh-huh, uh-huh. It's like you understand, I love you, but this is it, no more. And every I was, I was the first one freaking out, screaming. Yeah, you tell him I'm screaming.

Speaker 1

Well, I'm sure the people behind, whoever it was, were like thank you, dude's.

Speaker 2

Camera's been in my way the whole show I know it's crazy, so I'm so happy that he just call out not just only that guy but I mean, I'm sure, everybody else in there which everyone who had their camera out was like oh yes, I'm gonna slowly move back to my back pocket.

Speaker 2

I saw that. I saw some people that are like, if I don't want to be called out by ma, because I'm telling you he was not, yeah, he was. Just like I'm tired of this bs and I wonder if he had done that for other shows.

Speaker 1

Yeah, so I don't know but for our show.

Speaker 2

He just called but he's like I love you, but you need to stop. That was amazing. And then he proceeded to do the encores, which it was amazing awesome yeah, it was a great show.

Speaker 2

I came out hurting, even though I was not in a mosh pit there was a mosh pit weird kind of mosh pit there was a weird kind of mosh pit and I told you about. It's like, yeah, you have the, the younger generation mosh to the older generation, because there were some broody people there that they were out to hurt if they were in a mosh pit. And I'm like, no, I'm away from all that. I'm in a spot that I can see. Fine, I'm chilling, there's some nice people around me to enjoy the show. But it was an amazing show. I can't wait, if I think I'm able to go see them again. I would love to see them in japan because I'm sure their energy there is totally different than what I just experienced here. Probably, yes, yes, so we're going to. Well, let's talk about the P1 Harmy concert experience.

Speaker 1

Yeah, wow. That, I think, had to be the loudest show I've ever been in, because it's such a small venue. You know what I mean. We've seen bands in huge arenas, you know BTS out, but that was open you know what I mean. We've seen bands in huge arenas. You know bts out, but that was open yep you know open air so the sound doesn't stay in like your head the whole time. Oh yeah, this was.

Speaker 2

It was just screaming the whole way I wore earplugs because I knew where I was going to screamo band heavy metal. You know, I had my earplugs, that's nothing for sim, you mean for sim. Yeah, I should have kept them for this concert I know it's a k-pop concert.

Speaker 2

You don't need supposedly, you know ear uh earplugs, but you, I apparently, you know, I'm like you know I do need them For the screaming fans behind me. They're screaming on my ear and then if these guys riled up all these chickies because they were mainly women, it was. The screams were even loud, the whole theater. Like you said, it is small.

Speaker 1

Rumbled, yeah, but it wasn't just like you know that roaring of a crowd. It was like shrieking yes, that was like shrieking yes. That was some of the highest pitched sounds I've ever heard. I was like I think my eardrums are bleeding Right.

Speaker 2

Oh my.

Speaker 1

God.

Speaker 2

That was a mess up. It was.

Speaker 1

It was a mess up I mean and even for the little in-betweens when they were showing the videos you know, I mean people. I was like it's a video, what are you screaming about?

Speaker 2

I was like wow see, this is how thirsty k-pop you know fans in boston are yeah, exactly, that's how thirsty they are to see some k-pop in boston are? Yeah, exactly that's how thirsty they are to see some k-pop in boston. They'll scream at anything that is k-pop.

Speaker 1

It is well they're like one of the first. You know true k-pop, pop, pop bands exactly to do boston you know there have been other korean bands, but not a lot of them get just generalized as K-pop. But like these guys, p1 Harmony are, when you think, k-pop.

Speaker 2

It's a boy band.

Speaker 1

Yeah, you know this is, and they actually I was when I was looking at their tour date they're the only ones also doing a lot of the East Coast. Finally, they're doing you know the fact that boston was there, amen, right, but they are doing like, uh, new york dc. They're going to be in miami nashville. I was like nashville and they started in uh, houston, okay, in dallas, so they were in tex, went up to Chicago, toronto.

Speaker 1

They were one day in Canada they're going to be going back out to California way and then heading to Australia, but they're doing, I think, like 10 cities here in the US, wow, but yay, boston, finally, I know. Hopefully they'll go back and tell everybody hey, you should go check out Boston. Boston, they're loud, those crowds are insane.

Speaker 2

I do want to say kudos to the venue to get everybody in there on time. Yeah, that was because this was like wrap around the block.

Speaker 1

Yeah yeah, it pretty much circled right back to the front doors of the venue. It was insane. That's one of the longest lines we've been in. Exactly, we've had a few for even smaller venues even so, yeah, I got to say way more efficient than that place in New York City that we were all late getting in because the line was so huge and they waited too long to start letting people in.

Speaker 2

it was ridiculous so it's a sold out show. That was a sold out show. I didn't see rows of empty seats, you know they were. Everybody was. Remember we, we almost got a whole road and so there was like one seat and I'm like maybe there's nobody next to me, but no, the person came in, they showed up I was like wow, wow, sold out.

Speaker 1

I'm so proud yeah, that was amazing, so packed.

Speaker 2

It was insane. I'm like did anybody turn the ac on?

Speaker 1

it's hot in here because it was so packed yeah, so many people, and everybody from the get-go was just up on their feet dancing, screaming screaming at everything if they came out in the you know little videos that they do wow like.

Speaker 2

Oh, my god yo keep your energy and I'm like everybody just had energies. They couldn't wait. They could not wait. It's crazy, but it was a. It was a really good show.

Speaker 1

Uh, there was minus one yes, we had an injured member. Can you say which one it is? I forgot um, it was jiung. Okay, was is injured. I'm not sure if he'll be joining later dates, but right, he was currently not there. Okay, and just so everybody knows the the members are uh kio, theo jeong the one who's missing intact soul and jongsook I may be saying that wrong. I've never heard his name and even though they introduced him, people were screaming so loud I couldn't hear what I was like. How do you say it?

Speaker 2

The members were talking and all you hear is like I love you. I'm like, oh my.

Speaker 1

God, can I hear what he's saying?

Speaker 2

You know, it's like every moment. I love you, Love you.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that was.

Speaker 2

it was one of the ushers just like can you come down? But I'm like uh, you can't do it. Who are you talking no it's like you have hundreds of chickies, you know, screaming out their favorite. I love you this.

Speaker 1

I love you this you know well, there were actually a couple of guys sitting behind us, though, that were like I don't think they were yelling for anybody in particular, like I don't think they were yelling for anybody in particular, any names, but they were. They were definitely yelling too yeah oh my god. Yeah, most of most of the men in the audience were dads with their daughters.

Speaker 2

Yeah, yeah, I have. Yeah, that was cool though yep, it was.

Speaker 1

And just anyone going to later shows, just so you know. Apparently the dress code is pink.

Speaker 2

Yeah, wear pink yeah, it's a good thing I wore those pants, I'm like, I think I'm like, okay, I'm good I'm good I should have wore I don't have butterfly, uh socks. But a lot of people were, because one of the songs is butterfly yeah so people wearing like butterflies and like kitty ears too, um, I guess because of their members, have each member on their microphone, have like something they're like. One of them has a crown like I said it looks like a tiara well, no, that was crown.

Speaker 2

Like your crown-like. Your boy has a dinosaur right.

Speaker 1

No, my boy has the scorpion tail.

Speaker 2

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1

Because he's a Scorpio. The dinosaur is Sol.

Speaker 2

Okay.

Speaker 1

Who's the Japanese member? That was so cute, I know. Look at the dinosaur. When someone had a star.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 1

And Danger Boy had the star.

Speaker 2

Yes, yeah, and a star and.

Speaker 1

Kyo just had a K and we don't know what the missing member has, because he wasn't there to show us his mic. But yeah, so they just they were good. I mean, they kept their energy up. They were mad moving the whole time.

Speaker 2

And they engaged the crowd too. They have sing alongs. They have, you know, fans actually sing along a verse of their songs. That was really cool, it was very sweet. Of course, the fans just, you know, bringing in the heat, oh my.

Speaker 1

God Loud Fans, just, you know, bringing in the heat, oh my God Loud. Well, and when they did their solos, a couple of them had, you know, the lyrics up in English and Korean for you to sing along if you wanted. Yeah, so they were very, because that's how they sort of took their break is everybody did a solo so everybody else could rest up and rehydrate and all of that. But no, it was cool. It was definitely a really well produced show.

Speaker 1

I mean, considering you think about the other places they're playing, like Boston is, we don't have the same type of setups because it's an old, old city. You're working with venues. This used to be a theater for actually like watching plays and, you know, opera. This is not a a concert venue in the you know sense of what you think of. So they had to sort of redo choreography and stuff based on the fact that they had just this one, you know, 40 foot by 20 foot space to work in. You know you think about how they're generally performing. You know you have the what are those catwalks like? Yeah, shoot out into the audience and they have ways to walk around and be amongst the audience without having to go stand with them, right, which?

Speaker 2

they ended up doing anyway.

Speaker 1

They walked down the aisles at the very end for the encore part. They were in amongst the people collecting gifts and stuff and singing. But no, I mean kudos to them for being able to work it into this platform where they couldn't go anywhere else. You just had to be on that stage, but it's again small enough that nobody had a bad view either, because like, how close were we, even though we weren't on the?

Speaker 2

floor. You know what I mean. We got to see everything, yeah it was really good.

Speaker 1

Yeah, because we were. We were definitely up in the balcony, but I felt like we were. I mean, we could see facial expressions and everything. So it was it was impressive.

Speaker 2

They also had a jumbotron on the back, so you know, yeah, they did.

Speaker 1

Oh, yeah, yeah. So you can see the even better Soul. You couldn't so much see his facial expressions because he had his hair down.

Speaker 2

He's like, he's my favorite guy. He looks so cute. They all look cute. Yeah, they did, and hot, there was one that didn't. I'm not saying so because if you're gonna go see them, experience the amazing p1 harmony yeah definitely you know, oh my god, I was. You know, so I told you about sim. You know, told you about ma, when we, you know, called out that person no more phones.

Speaker 2

And I'm like, because of course everybody's out there with their phone. You know, I'm like can one of them just do like ma and call out everybody no more phones put that away.

Speaker 1

There were surprisingly, though, even the people in front of us, like they weren't holding it up over their head in our way. I definitely saw the girl recording a couple of times, but she was. It was like she was trying to hide that she was recording right, so maybe people were worried that they would get busted for it.

Speaker 2

I don't know it would be nice to actually have this done. Not have this at all, but it's just so difficult oh yeah.

Speaker 1

Well, I mean, even you do see footage from japanese concerts. People sneak their phones out and take you know little videos and stuff. It does happen.

Speaker 2

Now that you said that novel core. He streamed a show I'm not gonna say it's the last, I don't remember on youtube and it was a live, and I was surprised to see a couple of japanese fans with their phones out. I was like, eh, nani, really. And I'm like, on, you know, it's not like he's overseas, he's in japan. This is a live in. Oh, my god, I can't remember, but anyways. So I was watching the live and I'm like, wait a minute, there's actually people in the audience from Japan and I'm like, is it? I'm like, is it a foreigner? You know, that's what I'm looking. I'm like, no, they're Japanese people. I'm like, oh, what? Yeah, like people are not caring now in Japan.

Speaker 1

That's messed up. Well, no, even as far back, because on YouTube, back when you know that was the only way we could see our or she's stuff was from Japanese fans who snuck little things, there were a lot of quote unquote videos circulating where I mean it was shaken around because someone's holding their phone and you know you'd see it drop down for a second. So I've seen before they got taken down because that happened frequently with them.

Speaker 2

But yeah, I mean it's been happening for a long time I'm so I'm surprised to see that and I'm like, oh man, really well, you know, there's always one there is yeah or in this case at least 20.

Ticket Resale Issues and Solutions

Speaker 1

Yeah, because there were some very shaky videos from early rsh concerts and even the show and ono had both done solo shows and there were some I mean like you this one. Literally you'd see the girl put the phone down and then pick it back up because you know security was walking around. So you're like you're like, oh, this is so cool watching show do his little dance. And then you're like, oh, why is it all? Because they put the phone. She kept recording but she just lowered the phone so you're getting a shot of everybody's shoes and then she picked it up. So there's always someone, always someone. It wasn't just me in hawaii hey, you're in us territory.

Speaker 2

That's different exactly. Oh my god, this girl. If everybody's doing it, it's legal oh yeah, that was too funny.

Speaker 1

I was like what? So there you go, if everybody's doing it it's legal.

Speaker 2

Oh yeah, that was too funny. I was like what? So there you go If everybody's doing it, it's legal.

Speaker 1

That was funny, but yeah. So anyways, that was funny. If you are going to the show any of the P1 Harmony shows for the last few dates, you're in for a great, great show. If you don't know who they are, but you're interested in, you know, broadening your horizons, it's definitely worth checking out. As long as you get you know the real tickets, not the, because you know how panicking I feel about those resales no more pre-sales down with the resale, resale, no pre-sale. You know what?

Speaker 1

also no more pre-sale yeah well, we, we've talked about that.

Speaker 2

Okay, well, also so that's okay, now that I just said that that's my future plan Manifestation no more pre-sale, no more resale.

Speaker 1

Well, the pre-sale for like fan club stuff I don't see like official fan club, the pre-sale stuff for, you know, your American Express card holder or whatever.

Speaker 1

Those are different for fan club, but it should be limited. And express card holder or whatever, yeah, those are different, but for fan club, but it should be limited, because it's definitely and we'll get into this soon because if you're in the fan club, you should be buying the tickets to go see the artists you like. Yes, it shouldn't be about buying as many as you can to resell them at a higher price and make some money, because that's you're robbing other people, literally, but also figuratively figuratively of of a good experience. You know an artist they'd like to see and they can't, because these tickets have all been bought and now are being resold for four or five times their price. So, on that note you had, you were telling me you found some dirt on some resale tickets.

Speaker 2

Yes, so on our bonus episode of Ransom Rambling that we had dropped over the weekend, when was it? On Saturday May 26. When was it on saturday may 26th? I have said and quote now I want to see, because now travis japan being sold out all three dates in the us if there are any resale tickets for travis japan.

Speaker 2

now speaking with one of the fans out and my friend, in California, yeah they went out the pre-sale for the fan club and then whatever I guess leftover was for general admission, you know for the but it.

Speaker 1

She was saying it sold out though right in the fan club sale apparently so. Yes, that's one yeah, because she was like there are no tickets to get. Even though she she was like I probably won't be able to because I'm at work, she did go in and check, trying to get them, and said it was sold out.

Speaker 1

Yeah, so sold out so that means it sold out in the fan club pre-sale and you, you were, you were saying I'm gonna check on this just because I'm going to check something, put this down so I can bring out my phone.

Speaker 2

So I was doing a bit of research. I did some screenshots because I found a resale platform or website Reselling tickets for.

Speaker 1

Travis, japan. Well, you went to the place that we had talked about last time, right? Where they were like oh, you can do installment plans, tickets as low as audacity of these people.

Speaker 2

it's the audacity of these people yeah, so, um, yeah, so this um website that we have mentioned before with the uh, you know payment plans, so you know convenient and nice of them to do that. Um, so they have uh admission, just only general admission. So they have prices ranging from as low as $72 to $109 for the same section. Oh, really, you know general admission? Well, yes, which is the same general? You know it's the whole section.

Speaker 1

There's no actual seating. No, okay, there's no seating, so it's like why are you going to?

Speaker 2

It's like okay. So let's say I don't know how much were the actual price for general admission, let's say $50.

Speaker 1

Yeah, $55.

Speaker 2

maybe Because now that we're seeing it's like they're taking the regular price and tripling it for their benefit. So let's say, if it was $50 or $25.

Speaker 1

Well, I would say it was probably 50, right? 50?

Speaker 2

to 55 was probably the starting, you know. So there's people who actually bought it for the actual price. But then if you're like, well, I want to go see them, real bad and then pay the 109, like why it's like no, uh, why are you doing this to yourself?

Speaker 1

why are you doing?

Speaker 2

this to yourself yeah tariff. Japan is not gonna be seeing that money. Nobody's gonna be seeing that money only the person who just sold it.

Speaker 2

Yeah, exactly, and the thing is that. So there's a maximum of tickets that you could buy. Of course, I don't know how much or the maximum for the ones, because I'm looking here for New York, this is for the New York zoning hall. Those were the prices $72 and up to $109. So for $72 each, they have two tickets left. For the $76 range, they have seven tickets left. And then for the 82 dollar tickets, they have. This is what. This was the very interesting one, because there's one saying general a uh, they have eight tickets left. And then general aid and something else was it's the same row, six tickets left. So I'm like what is this? So what's with this row when it's like no seating?

Speaker 1

yeah, that's.

Speaker 2

It's just weird, huh and then for the 109, there's five tickets left. Who's buying those? That's just ridiculous. No, people don't do that. But what I'm very, very concerned is that for I went and checked for Seattle Because our friend, you know, was like well, the only place I can think of is just maybe make a trip up to Seattle. So for Seattle, the cheapest ticket is get to that real quick, because there are a lot of resale. This event on Seattle has a lot of resale.

Resale and Accessibility of ADA Seating

Speaker 2

Oh, really I was just like why are there so many resale for Seattle, you know, for a sold out show? Why is that? That's ridiculous, ridiculous. So the cheapest, cheap, cheap, cheap, cheap, cheap, cheap, cheap for seattle is 92. That's the cheapest and this is a resale the most expensive if I can get to that because I have so many screenshots it's ridiculous for seattle of how many resale tickets are for this and the most expensive is 682, no, 88, 688 whoa for one ticket general admission also, just like no here this is general admission, the one that, another thing that I it just it my jaw drop there was a resale ticket for an ad8.

Speaker 2

What is an ad8? For those who do not know what an ad8 means is for a accessible disabled, no, no, a handicap disabled, um accessibility yeah, it's special seating, accessible seating.

Speaker 1

Yeah, like there's not an actual seat because they can fit a wheelchair or someone with special device for walking. Yeah, it's definitely. It's for people who can't get to, say, balcony seating, like we had last night or something. They need to be on the floor, they need to be able to get in and out easily, close to exits, you know, for safety reasons and all of that.

Speaker 2

I want to give the right meaning of what those ADA means. Ada means America's With Disability Act. This is so people who you know, like you said, they have a wheelchair or you know some kind of special, you know mobility.

Speaker 1

Mobility, mobility Exactly.

Speaker 2

Theseility. Exactly these are your seats, special for them. Somebody's resailing resailing a ticket for an ADA.

Speaker 1

And this is where I was saying there can't be this many people suddenly like, oh, I'm not going to be able to make the show.

Speaker 2

I don't know how many seats are holding on those ADA, but there's two tickets there for each 110. And you know, usually that's a very limited seating.

Speaker 1

Yeah, they don't have a lot. Well, it depends on the venue. You know, larger places probably have more. But in fact, like where we were last night, I'm not sure I don't know when are they. They do have an elevator. I'm not sure I don't know where are they.

Speaker 2

They do have an elevator, so I'm assuming they do have a section.

Speaker 1

There's the ability, but I don't know where the section would be. I will probably have to say, because certainly not up where we were.

Speaker 2

No, they do have another tier, so mezzanine. I'm saying maybe mezzanine and maybe the first floor, that's it. If there was an elevator, I'm saying mezzanine, but at least on our section, there was none.

Speaker 1

Yeah, no, definitely not.

Speaker 2

You would not be able to get to it no, so this is so disgusting, it's just disgusting this. This seattle sold out. Why all this resale?

Speaker 1

well, it's like that everywhere and that's why the Justice Department is like we're gonna do something about this. You know, I mean, yeah, it's really, I guess also down to who you have handling the ticket sales. There really needs to be, I guess, a limit. You know, eight people going to a show and we were buying eight tickets but we were using, we didn't sell them, yeah, but like, this is the problem is now you can buy a whole row, like what we were in last night, the row six seats long. Yeah, you can buy all six seats and then you can resell them. Obviously we weren't, because, no, our group wanted to see the group oh yeah, we were five in our party.

Speaker 1

Have five people, yeah, you know, and we were there, we wanted to see the show, so we were buying, you know, the row of seats, but, um, yeah, it's just, it's. There's got to be got to be some sort of limit, some sort of way of making this not happen, that large chunks of seats are being bought up and then resold. Because that's the thing. When you look, especially through Ticketmaster and Live Nation, which are the ones under fire at the moment, yeah, like when you go in and you're looking for resale because, a perfect example, I wanted to get us tickets to see Harry Styles when he was here, because we love Harry and he was playing Madison Square Garden for like a month.

Speaker 2

I mean he had, he had so many dates down there because he knows where his fans are right like a big old tour, you know he, he kept adding dates because it's every time he had a date it sold out.

Speaker 1

When I was looking at tickets, just to be down on the floor in the general, you know, there was no seatings, this was all standing room only. The minimum ticket price was 500 each, oh damn. And then some up where you had actual seating, were like 800, oh no, I mean. And so the resale? Because these were all resale, because it was sold out. But then they were like tickets are now available.

Speaker 1

So I was like, all right, let's look. I'm like I'm not paying 500 to be like standing up against other sweaty people. I love you, harry, but I'm not gonna do it. And then I was like and then if I want to be comfortable in a seat, you want me to pay $800? Not him, not him personally, but like that's and going as high, as same as with Fujikaze. Yeah, there were tickets for like $4,000. I was like, are you kidding To be in the nosebleeds of Madison Square Garden, which is another one? It's not a huge venue. No, in terms of you know, when you think of the large, like what the hell? Alliant Stadium out in Las Vegas, it's not that big. So you have good views, no matter where you are in Madison Square Garden, but not $4,000 worth, no, no. No matter where you are in Madison Square Garden, but not $4,000 worth, no.

Speaker 2

The audacity of people to ask that it's disgusting. It's disgusting, it's gross, you know.

Speaker 1

We did say we're never going to shut up about this. No, we're not, because the more shows we try to go to and can't go to, yeah, the angrier I get about it.

Speaker 2

Yeah, especially when you see resale, I'm like why are you reselling tickets? Yeah, right away.

Speaker 1

No, Right, that's another thing too is there's resale. I can't remember who I was looking at just the other day, but there were still standard tickets available. So the real price $49.50 for this group. So there were still standard available, but there were already verified resale tickets up there for double the price. The seats were a little bit better, I think, because this was for actual seating in a venue, but I was like what the you know, why are you reselling your tickets? If the ticket prices were originally $49.50 everywhere and now you're selling your seat two rows ahead for $250,? I'll sit two rows back for $49.50,. You know Exactly. Oh, my God, it's just. It's crazy. It's crazy, yeah, that they can have resale already when all of the regular seats aren't even sold.

Speaker 2

So like nobody should be reselling anything unless you know, by the way, something happened at the end of the day of the concert. I can't go. Let me resell my tickets, Right?

Speaker 1

I see that you know that, yeah, it's Right, and but, as we said before too, If you reselling rolls too, right, but the resale should only be for the price you paid for it Exactly. Maybe, ok, add on the fees and taxes you had to pay so that you, you know, get that back Exactly, so the next person pays you back, basically, and then pays their own taxes and fees, which is usually only like $15, $20. Yeah, that's reasonable. You know what I mean Exactly. That's a reasonable thing to expect. Mm-hmm, reasonable. You know what I mean. That's a reasonable thing to expect. But because, also, like, remember what happened when ah, this was another thing that pissed me off during the pandemic all those shows that got canceled on us, those bastards only listen to me they're bastards they only refunded the face value of the ticket.

Speaker 1

Why am I paying you fees and taxes on? You didn't deliver a ticket to me, I'm not going there, I'm not using your venue, I'm not paying for upkeep on something because nothing's going on. They should be given all that money back. Yeah, that should have all come back, because when you're buying, say, five tickets, like we were, for the people we wanted to go.

Speaker 1

That was an extra hundred dollars, oh yeah, at least. Actually it was more like 125 in all the fees and stuff that everybody like come on yeah, after the the tax and fees and whatever you're like.

Speaker 2

Well, that much for tax and fees and whatnot. It could have been a vip. I know it's the vip tickets right there. Ah, yeah, that's so. It's disgusting.

Speaker 1

You're like wait a minute. We we spent 75 each for these tickets and you're only giving us 50 back. Thanks, for nothing, right you know, and that's the other. Yeah, it was like half the price of the ticket again in fees. So yeah, exactly you know, and I guess I know they have to pay their employees and they have to pay that, but like, if this concert's not happening, you're not paying the, the ushers and all the you know staff to man the, the venue.

Speaker 1

So you don't need that money like I mean, they don't need it, we need it back exactly, exactly yeah, so so, uh, let's see what happens us in.

Speaker 2

It wants to change, it wants to do uh. Us attorney general once says enough yeah it's time to break this bs. I mean, please go for it. So I'm OK, I'm going to sound political here. Us Attorney General Merrick Garland, go for it. Please stop the madness. Probably this person is like you know I got kids that wants to go see.

Speaker 1

I was just thinking what is this resale?

Speaker 2

They probably have teenage daughters who are like I wanted to see so and so, not even daughters, kids, just kids, yeah, just kids in general.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 2

They're like I want to go see BTS but I couldn't get tickets. Can you get me this one right here? And they probably saw the 10 grand one.

Speaker 1

It's like what? 10 grand.

Speaker 2

No, with 10 grand, I'll just take you to take you to south korea and meet them, and have your own private show. Can be there for a month with that much you know, yeah, exactly it's yeah, because that's sometimes what happens when it gets personal yeah don't act on it.

Speaker 1

Yeah, no, the minute you were, you were like and I bet I was like she's going to say whoever this is, they've got kids and they're like I can't take them to a damn show anywhere.

Speaker 2

Exactly, they probably they are Swifties, cause they're talking about Taylor Swift, so they probably have some swifties in there.

Speaker 1

Well, that's because her oh yeah, her tour was the first one where, I mean, they were screwing up stuff. Oh, yeah, to begin with like everything was bad and then and then the reselling stuff happened in the yeah, no, that was outrageous that was a complete shit show.

Speaker 2

That was outrageous. That was a complete shit show. That was back in 2010. Yep, when that happened and even Taylor Swift was like what the heck is going on- yeah. You know what is this. You can't do this to my fans.

Speaker 2

You know she's very devoted to her fans. She has done many things for her fans Probably say this gotta stop what the heck is going on. This is not. You can't do this to my fans. This is ridiculous. I actually reposted the article from Yahoo. You can find that on Music Elixir and also on OK Asia. Actually, on Music Elixir, go to that bonus episode, because we talked about that situation and then on May 23rd the article came out about this. You know, attorney General, wanting to just put a kibosh on this bs, yeah, yeah, you know no, it was funny.

Speaker 1

Yeah, we had just talked about it. Like we recorded that four days before the news broke out, because I was saying something's happening, because they were mentioning the, the senate was voting on whether they were going to do something about this stuff.

Speaker 2

That was for the out front total of the ticket with the tax and fees.

Speaker 1

So that's what that, like I said, because I didn't actually read the article, but I was like something's going on, yeah.

Speaker 2

So that was like let's see the starting of the that was the percolating Of the dumpster fire.

Speaker 1

That was like let's see the starting of the. That was the percolating Of the dumpster fire.

Speaker 2

That was the gas, and then the fire that ignites the dumpster fire is this yes, the match.

Speaker 2

So from Yahoo News, I'm going to read this paragraph where it says concert fans and politicians for years have been calling for a re-examination of live nation's purchase of ticket master in 2010, especially after the ticket seller in 2022 botched sales to taylor swift's first concert tour in years, sending fans into hour-long online queues, which we have changing prices that customers said were too high and drawing charges of poor services. I mean drawing changes, charges of poor service, like what the hell you know? Yeah, it's like again, this is probably this. You know, some politicians, kids, when they go see taylor swift and it was like I'm gonna man.

Speaker 2

It was like what it's gotta change, what the heck is going on. So yeah on on thursday. Legal action underscores the aggressive approach of president joe biden uh, antitrust force have adopted as they seek to create more competition in a wide range of industries, from big tech to health care to groceries.

Speaker 1

Okay, never mind, that's a yeah that that goes to something else they're covering, yeah, a broader spectrum of, because this is an issue not just with ticket sales. Right, and it's funny because you know, I remember when Live Nation was its own thing and that's who we started buying tickets through, because they were cheaper than Ticketmaster, exactly. But then, yeah, once they merged, you were done, turned into a shit show, as we like to say, because they merged and it was yeah just bad, bad news.

Speaker 2

So now we have a dumpster fire, so I'll say exactly BTS saying about it.

Speaker 1

Right, they have been.

Speaker 2

So we'll see what happens now that this has come out.

Speaker 1

And.

Speaker 2

I am so happy about that. And now I'm just saying, was it really fan club for the pre-sale?

Speaker 1

Well, that's the thing is. You know, if you think about the price of the fan club for a year versus how much you could make if you buy the fan club seats for every show they've got, you can make your money back, you know, 10 times so I'm thinking how, if I just can't, imagine that many people signing up for the fan clubs to be able to do this, you know so and I'm just thinking was it really the pre-sale for fan club or the pre-sale was just general pre-sale?

Speaker 2

yeah, I don't. I don't know see that I don't know because again I don't know if there was a fan club for traverse japan, for overseas, but this pre-sale in Seattle is crazy.

Speaker 1

A lot of people though in Japan will buy the tickets to come see the shows, especially in California, because it's easy enough to get there.

Speaker 2

Well, now that you said that I told you about the Starto concert, there's a resale.

Speaker 1

In Japan, right In Japan, yeah.

Speaker 2

I forgot the name of the website. It's Google something. It's like what you can really start though, for for the festival we are start, though I was like no resale tickets for that, wow, I'm like eh, none. So I'm like no because. So the tickets each were $2.50 for a start to entertainment.

Speaker 1

Like for the just straight up.

Speaker 2

This is for the Osaka.

Speaker 1

Just buying the seat. Just because it's a big whole event.

Speaker 2

So so, but if you want it together, it was different, more of course.

Speaker 1

OK.

Speaker 2

So that you know that's in Osaka. I'm like you know what am Iaka? I'm like you know what am I? I'm like what girl? No, don't even that's a resale in a country that you have not been and you want to stay more than just one day or two or three, whatever I think is gonna go over there. You know you want to enjoy yourself, so, um, yeah that was just like what. Now we having resellers for overseas concerts well, there probably were.

Speaker 1

You know, we, we wouldn't hear about it the same way.

BTS and Monsta X Military Collab

Speaker 2

So now, that we're so invested on this ticket thing. I'm seeing all kinds of I'm like what, what, and of course it said um, applicable tax in whatever in bookings are not applicable on this. You know this price, I'm like what, oh man, but you know it's gonna cost a lot more. Oh, yeah, it will probably this I could be exaggerating, but it could be true maybe a grand for that one ticket. Yeah, to to go see, good, to go we and see all your favorites, wow well, all right, let's talk.

Speaker 1

I want to talk about, on a lighter note, go ahead the the woo-woo we had happened this morning because while we were waiting in our huge ass line, to get into the p1 harmony. Yes, I had turned to Panic and said oh hey, did you see the Ju Honey pictures he posted? You know, some sort of promo stuff came out.

Speaker 2

And we were talking about how cute they were. Oh no, we're like is he back from the military? He's not back from the military.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I was like no, I don't think he gets back, like later this year or early next year, and we're like so he must be just like BTS. You know, they're right, They've. They had stuff prepared, rolling it out for the fans this morning. Oh my God, On Instagram, both Joo Honey and RM of BTS, just in case and Joo Honey, if you don't know, is from Monsta X they both posted like little photo booth pictures they took together in their uniforms. The dimple factor was unbelievable. Oh my god, the two of them have the deepest dimples 2Honey especially those like.

Speaker 1

I know they're so cute, but those were the cutest pictures and they both did it. I know these cheeks, you just want to pinch them. They're so cute. But those were the cutest pictures and they both did it.

Speaker 2

I love it. Oh my God, they were just like. Hey, bro, I'm like ah.

Speaker 1

And then we were like, are they like the same age? And yes, they are, they're a month apart 1994. Rm's September and Juhani's October. So it was so cute Little bros hanging out in the military.

Speaker 2

They're so awesome. I was like, oh my god, the dimple attack, the dimple attack. Because that's what you want to do. You want to grab their faces and go oh. Cheeks I loved it. They'll probably be like go it, assault my face, what are you doing?

Speaker 1

but oh my god, yeah, that was so, that was so funny.

Speaker 2

Army uniforms yeah, they look so good so yeah but.

Speaker 1

I was like here we were talking about them last night. It was like they knew. So they were like let's give the girls something to smile about. They're thinking about us. Okay, yeah, that's our DeLulu.

Speaker 2

Exactly, hey Young, come over here, because of course RM is. Even though it's the same year, rm is still older than you, honey. Yes, let's probably call him hey Young, come over here, take a picture for our girls. Oh my God, that was just too funny.

Speaker 1

When I saw it I was like what the?

Speaker 2

we were just talking about that. I'm like this is my. I took screenshots of it for my enjoyment because you know those are the in the stories. They're not gonna stay no, I know I'm like who's rearranging the quick screenshot, screenshot. I'm like, oh, look how cute they are.

Speaker 1

It's so amazing what did they say to? Was it like no pain, no gain, or no gain, no, yeah it was like who put that I? Forgot who they both did.

Speaker 2

Maybe I'm wrong, no, no um, this is from rm yep on the bottom, so something in korean yep, something 15, right yeah?

Speaker 1

I don't know what that right okay. Is that their unit? Are they? I don't know if that's the. Is that their unit? Are they?

Speaker 2

I don't know if that's the unit or the date that they took the picture. And then this one is from juhani on the bottom.

Speaker 1

Oh, no brain, no pain, brother. Yeah, all right, I thought they both had the same thing on it. Here we go back to rms for a second. Okay, let Let me try something. His says victory, 15th division. So they're in the same division. Really what? Why was that news not out anywhere? Right, hello, that our boys were together in the same. Well, I mean, division is pretty big so they're probably not in the same unit, but still, oh my God, that means they've been in the same collaboration.

Speaker 2

Collaboration happening.

Speaker 1

Solo, solo Collaboration. They're sneaking into the latrine and recording stuff.

Speaker 2

Oh my God, that would be amazing. Yes, yes, when they have band, maybe they'll you don't know Is Juhani in band too? Oh, I don't know. Ooh, look at us. Hey, every time we say something, something happens.

Speaker 1

You know right, it's happening. It is happening, oh my God. But listen to me Recording in the bathroom.

Speaker 2

They're probably ooh, you know what? Okay, even better. They're probably you know what? Okay, even better. Slipping, rap, rapping lyrics like at school.

Speaker 1

Hey, dude, as they're marching past each other in there, it's like it's piano.

Speaker 2

She's like here you go, here. I'm gonna put the note at this part over here behind blah, blah, blah. And just, oh man, I'm going to put the note at this part over here behind blah, blah, blah, oh man.

Speaker 1

That would be cool. Definitely our DeLulu minds at work, but that would be so awesome. That would be so awesome.

Speaker 2

Yes, future putting it out in the universe. Collab your honey and our rim oh my God. Putting it out in the universe. Collab Juhoney and RM oh my god. Look at me all excited about something that's not happened yet what's the future?

Speaker 1

I think J-Hope and Juhoney are getting out around the same time because they both went in in April last year. Maybe they'll get together and sort of talk about yeah, let's all get together so so be awesome, oh my god. Okay, all right well, we've, uh, I think we've hit our limit okay we about tickets, but we talked about some good shows. Yes, we got our DeLulu out, because we are DeLulu, I mean, you know the coincidence is too crazy.

Speaker 2

The coincidence is there. I mean we talk about it like days, even weeks, before things happen, and then we dropped our episode after the fact. You know and and it sounds like, yeah, it's some like sorry, we need to drop this episode because we cannot wait. This is just two things that we have talked about and you know we even have that date stamp our talk, yeah oh yeah, no, I've got the whole.

Speaker 1

You know the, the. I keep the originals and then that because you know I edit out. Sometimes we have brain farts and we sit here going I uh, so I take those out. So, even though it gets saved on the date that I do the editing, I have the original showing that we talked about it four days before they dropped that that bombshell, so and we can prove we were at that concert the night before rm and jew honey put that picture. Yes, yes, it must are together us talking about it. The, the brain power, went out into the universe and told the two of them I'm telling you we are we are the witchy poos the woo, woo, definitely look at, they'll get all this ticket issue going on here.

Speaker 2

We are very passionate and heated about the situation and this is, you know, our force is actually getting there, is is getting out there. Somebody is actually getting hurt. So some things are happening. You know, we are putting that, that vibration out there, that that talk then and now. Now people are going to be like okay, did you panic? She'll really off the deep end.

Speaker 1

I was just thinking that.

Speaker 2

But she'll really off the deep end. I was just thinking that. But you know, I'm putting again, I'm putting it out there. I you might just say you just all hot air.

Speaker 1

Fine, you think about that and things like this happen and I'm going see, told you so well, it's just funny because we've we've talked about this for years anyways, but now we have a platform that we can talk about it on, so we've been spouting about it for ages manifestation station.

Speaker 2

Change music elixir to manifestation station?

Speaker 1

I don't know well, we could add it as like an under tag, you know.

Speaker 2

Music Elixir, your manifestation station. Right, I'll do an episode just on that, I'll load. If you don't want to do that, I don't know. Okay, all right, girl.
