Speaker 1:As I look back on the podcast this year, I also did my own personal reflection. Have you done that yet? There's still plenty of time and I highly recommend it. I think I'm surprised every year when I do the reflecting part of my planning process as to how much the reflection informs the creating part for the new year. This year, in my reflection, one of the questions I asked myself was what was my life curriculum this year? In other words, what did the events, circumstances and terrain of my everyday life? How did it teach me, shape me and mold me this year? Life taught me so many things this year, but the overarching lesson has been to surrender and trust. I've learned to have vision, goals and dreams, but not be attached to the outcome. I've learned to walk through uncertainty and keep showing up, keep showing up, keep showing up.
Speaker 1:About six or seven months ago, I felt strongly. It was time to build the next stage of my business and I deeply wanted to just lay it all out on paper so that I would know where I was headed. But every time I sat down to write or draw the next business model or layout, it just didn't work. It wasn't coming together. I felt like I was forcing the wrong puzzle pieces together. And then one day a quiet, wise voice inside me said stop trying to figure it all out. Just show up every day, do a little bit of work on it and I'll show you the next piece. And now, seven months later, that map is laid out on paper. I know where I'm going and what I'm doing, at least for the moment.
Speaker 1:The journey this year to get here in my business has been filled with a lot of struggle, a lot of doubt, confusion and frustration. But I kept showing up and slaying the mental dragons on the daily and surrendering again and again. The amount of struggle that it took to stay in step with this was ridiculous. The amount of doubt, confusion and frustration that I faced on a daily basis was more than I ever remember facing as an entrepreneur. Something kept me showing up and slaying those mental dragons I tried several times to take this all back into my own hands because I was frustrated and felt like it was taking way too long.
Speaker 1:On this side of things, I see God's faithfulness. I see the power of surrendering and showing up to do the work, as our 19 year old son said to us, as we did our best to support him in navigating some circumstances and decisions this year. Quote stop trying to be perfect. The struggle is good. Which leads me to All that struggle I mentioned this year. Well, it's brought some things to life, things that just might impact you and your life new opportunities to engage and learn and ditch the status quo to embrace that life. You know you're here to live. Some things are coming, and I will be sharing all of this with you in the coming days and weeks.
