This summer we are doing a series called Mindset Camp. It will be made up of mostly simple, thought-provoking episodes to give you something short + sweet to take action on right away!

Today is Episode 6 of that series.

Who is in control of your day? Is it you? 

Or is it the to-do lists, obligations, chores, schedules, and demands placed on you?

This is an important thing to think about. Hours turn into days, days into weeks, and weeks into months. 

When you look back on your life, I want you to see that you’ve prioritized your time not by greasing the squeaky wheel or putting out the hottest fire, but by what moves you and elevates your life.

In this short episode, part six of our summer series called Mindset Camp, you’ll discover the five minute morning practice that helps you prioritize your time naturally, in alignment with what’s most important to you and the life you’re building.

You’ll still do all the things that need doing, but you’ll gain a whole new mindset through which to prioritize your time and get back control of your life.

Summer is here and in the spirit of summer, here on the podcast, we are doing something a little different. Summer's past are such great memories. I grew up in a small little sleepy beach town and most summer days I got my work in early so I could hop on my bike and get to the beach and stay until the sun went down, or packing my bags for summer camp Long days full of memories. Do you remember how summer just seemed like it would last forever when you were a kid?

This summer series, we're going to call it Mindset Camp. It'll be made up of mostly simple, short, thought-provoking episodes to give you something short and sweet. Whether you are on summer vacation, in between work meetings or driving to the office, you can fit it in and apply it right to your life wherever you are, to shift your perspective, experience and maybe even your results. We will talk mindset, productivity, relationships and more. Vacations are great, but rest assured if vacation isn't within sight, I'm a firm believer of building a life we don't have to escape and where vacations become the cherry on top of an already great life that you enjoy living. And Mindset Camp is all about that Sharing ways to elevate our thinking, to elevate our living, right smack dab where you are. Do you ever get to the end of the day and wonder what happened to all your time? This short Mindset Camp episode is a reminder of the power you hold to lead your every day. Let me repeat that this episode is a reminder of the power you hold to lead your every day. It begins with your thinking and actually remembering that this is your life. You are the leading lady or man of your life. I'm a firm believer in God being sovereign, but God invites us to co-create and leverage this incredible mind that he's given us to lead our lives. The greatest work of your life is inside you. Give it the fertile soil it needs to see the light of day, plant the seeds today for who you eventually want to become, and you'll open yourself up to an infinite set of possibilities. Serenity this row. Understanding how to lead your day is inside of you. Knowing which thing to focus on first is inside of you. Recognizing what one thing could have the biggest impact on your day, week, year, is inside of you.

Speaker 1:

So often we look to the outer world for direction on what to do with our time, our day and our life, and then feel off track, out of alignment and frustrated that our moment and our day and our life are spent doing what others deem important. It's time to stop stewing in frustration at our loved ones, our jobs, our managers, our to-do list for not making what is important to us a priority. It's not their job, it's our job. It's up to us to guard our time.

Speaker 1:

My challenge for you this week is to carve out five minutes before each day Pause, clear your mind, close your eyes and ask yourself this one question what one thing can I do today that will have the greatest impact? Listen for the answer. Then go do that thing. Do that thing first before you get into anything else, and watch as that one thing ripples over and influences other important things that you've set out to do. You've got this so.

Speaker 1:

Clean away any thinking that has you believing others control your time in life and know that. I understand, I have, and I have worked with clients who are taking care of children and elderly parents and can feel powerless, like every day is groundhog day, and that you have no control. I truly get it, and this is where all this began for me. Tending your thought life, your thinking and cultivating a more elevated thought life will and does elevate your living, if you allow it. I experience it day in and day out and witness it in others over and over again. Go ahead and borrow my belief until it becomes your own, and if this feels too hard or weighty, it's time to talk, reach out.
