Beyond The Lines examines and discusses how sports and life issues intersect in the lives of our youth athletes. We, as adults, parents and coaches, look at our youth as the voice and leaders of our future, but we rarely listen to them or even give them a platform to express themselves. Sports and life issues go hand-in-hand. They both compliment each other. They both enable our youth to become those leaders that we want and expect them to become. Beyond The Lines will be the platform to discuss the wide range of sports and life issues. You will hear from various guests, including youth athletes themselves. It's more than scores and highlights. Beyond The Lines is about educating and informing with the focus on our youth.

In Episode #56, I discuss the tragic collapse of Damar Hamlin. With a familiar guest, Dr. Tate-Scruse, we discuss how Damar's incident affected us as a country and worldwide. We cover the aspects of coping and dealing with such a tragedy that was seen in real-time all over the country. We talk about how Damar's teammates, coaches and family cope with the incident and how they can move forward. Dr Tate-Scruse and I talk about how Damar's collapse affects us individually and how we view mortality. Dr. Tate-Scruse offers her constant wisdom and knowledge in dealing with tragic events such as this.
