Nordic Revival Podcast w/ Tomi Lehto
Am I worth anything?
Our value as humans comes directly from God who created us wonderfully complex and paid the ultimate price through Christ's blood. When we understand this divine measurement of worth, we can resist cultural messages that devalue human life and live with joy and peace that terrifies the enemy.
• God's initial creation of humans in His image was declared "very good" in Genesis 1
• Psalm 139 describes us as "wonderfully and fearfully made" with every day of our lives recorded in God's book
• Contemporary culture and media often communicate that humans are burdens rather than blessings
• The blood of Jesus is described as "the most valuable substance ever to be on the earth"
• When we devalue ourselves, we essentially claim God miscalculated our worth
• Our enemy hates us because we have something he lost forever: God's presence and love
• True joy and peace in a believer's heart is powerful spiritual warfare
• The time of grace is coming to an end; judgment approaches where all accounts will be settled
Give your life to the Lord today. Don't make excuses for sin. Jesus has made a way - He is the way, the truth, and the life, and He's willing to wash you clean today.
Psalm 139. Psalm 139. You can follow in your Bible. I got a New Living Translation in front of me today. In front of me today, so I'm going to read from there. Let me see. Which verse should I start off with. Let me see. Let's read from verse 13.
Speaker 1:You made all the delicate inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex. Your workmanship is marvelous. How well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was together in the dark of a womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, o God. They cannot be numbered. I can't even count them. They outnumber the grains of sand. And when I wake up, you are still with me. Amen. Isn't that a beautiful set of verses In the very first book of the Bible, in the very first chapter of the book of Genesis, the book of beginnings, where you find the start of so many things.
Speaker 1:God created man. He created us into his image. Male and female created he them. He created us into his image. And in the end, in verse 31, I believe yep first 31 of the first chapter of the bible god looked at us and said that this is very good in the end of the day, in the end of creation, he said it's very good. Now you may look around and see well, I don't feel that good, I don't. It doesn't appear to be that good. It doesn't. It doesn't. My experience is telling me otherwise. I looked at the news and it does not look that good. Well, we know that because of sin, the consequences of sin came, but let's look at the answer from colossians one, and then, before we pray, and and I mentioned a few other things, and I believe god wants to give you a breakthrough in this area so you can have a joy in your heart and a peace in your heart. You know the I was.
Speaker 1:We were talking with the pastors yesterday in our weekly pastors meeting and I was just saying that you know, one of the most powerful spiritual warfare is just to have a believer with the joy and peace in their heart. Sometimes we make a spiritual warfare very complicated, but what changes a family when a man has a joy and a peace in his heart and then then then they're not controlled and pushed around by external things, messages that come, but there's just peace, there's joy, there's strength, there's faith, there's power in the house. Same thing with the, with the ladies, with the wife, with the mother. I mean when mean when there's peace, there's joy. We over-spiritualize some of these things, but when the Prince of Peace, the one who's the joy giver, one who baptizes you with the Holy Ghost and fire, amen, when he's reigning and ruling in your heart, something is going to happen, something that's going to turn things around, something is moving in your spirit, something is rising in your heart that is going to make the devil afraid. He's not afraid of your carnality, your natural ability to reason, your physical being, but when that anointing rises in you and the words of the Lord and the word of God is coming out of your lips, then the devil has to back out. The Bible says resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Speaker 1:Colossians 1 and verse 11 those of you joining us we're talking about. Am I worth anything? That? That's the topic.
Speaker 1:And we looked at how wonderfully God created us in the first book of the Bible and then in Psalm 139, how amazingly Bible says in one translation, in Psalm 139, that we are wonderfully and fearfully made. You're wonderfully made, amazingly made. But then we see how sin has corrupted the human nature to sin. But then, thank God, peter wrote in his epistle. He said we've become partakers of this now divine nature. How is that possible? Let's read from Colossians 1 and 11. We also pray you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people who live in the light, for he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his dear son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins. And then he goes on to talk about, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, about how wonderful Christ is. I just want to read a little bit just to get, because I want to read myself.
Speaker 1:Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in his heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can't see, and the things we can't see, such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, authorities and unseen world. In the unseen world, everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else and he holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything, for god in all. His fullness was pleased to live in christ and through him god reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ's blood on the cross. Hallelujah, isn't that beautiful, isn't that beautiful?
Speaker 1:One of the ways that we overcome that sense of inferiority, a sense of worthlessness, is to keep our eyes on Jesus. Many times people are just too focused on themselves, they're just selfish and they become arrogant and prideful and everything has become about themselves. But when we see him as he truly is, it's easy to draw from him and we notice that we are strengthened by him. But listen to this If you listen to the wrong sources of news, it's easy to listen to news these days, or maybe not, but it's easy to. But it's easy to, you know, because you just turn your broadcast open or you watch the news. You're scrolling through your social media and you see the latest news headlines and if you live in Finland, recently they've been crazy redefining or attempting to redefine even what mother and father is legally in this country.
Speaker 1:They may say this publicly that I'll never change the way I talk about mother and father. You know Bible says he's the heavenly, god is the heavenly father. That's Bible language and that's never going to change. And the family is the plan of God and family includes a father and a mother and then children, as God blesses the family with children and the children are the blessing of the Lord. But you see, you look at all these sources, you open your ears to hear their report and their evaluation of you.
Speaker 1:If you get caught up in this climate change nonsense, you'll realize that it's putting seeds in the hearts of young people that they're actually a burden to this world instead of being a blessing. And we have got to stand up with the message of the gospel that the people are actually very valuable. Our sons, our daughters are valuable, they are important, they're precious, they're loved and they have a purpose and God has an assignment for them. They're not a burden, but they're a blessing. It's not okay to put something like that on a heart of a 12-year-old. If you remember when you were young and you were getting in your teenage years if you're not there now, but you're a little older then you know that it was difficult already to comprehend the world and learning and growing and so forth. So teens don't need additional burdens and there's a lot of additional things that have been placed on them these, these, these days, and we get on, you get to understand that. You know, you listen to these sources and you become to realize and you, you pick it up on yourself, even if you're a believer, if you even know that god has a call for you.
Speaker 1:It's easy to pick up all these messages that are devaluing the worthiness and the value of the call of God and the hand of God. But you see, god here says in verse 14 of Colossians 1 that he purchased our freedom and forgave our sins. How did he do that? By Christ's blood on the cross. Verse 20 says so by the blood of Jesus.
Speaker 1:Blood of Jesus is the most valuable substance ever to be on the earth. It's priceless, that blood. We could not just shed our own blood. This blood of Jesus, see, the blood comes from the Father. And the seed that was placed in the womb of Mary was not an earthly seed. She was a virgin, but a Holy Ghost came on her and that seed was a heavenly seed. That which was born of Mary was not just Mary, true, was a mother of the physical body of Jesus, but the seed was from heaven. So this was way beyond Mary, this was way beyond natural, carnal. This was a heavenly seed. So the blood that Jesus shed on that cross it's still worthy, valuable, it is priceless. It is so precious to clean and cleanse you from all sin and unrighteousness, whatever you've been in, whatever you've done. If you humble your heart and you repent and meet the lord at the foot of that cross, you, you can receive new life when you come under the fountain of the blood of jesus. That's how valuable it is.
Speaker 1:And God looked at you and he said I love you so much I'm going to send my only son so that he can pay a price for you. So, in a way, if you devalue yourself as a child of God, then you are saying that God, you made a miscalculation in valuing me, and God does not make miscalculations. He saw the value that you have because he was willing to purchase, he was willing to pay the highest price for you. So you got to understand it. The world will say this the enemy says this. But the devil is the enemy of your soul. He hates you because you got something that he can never get back, and that's the presence of God and the love of the father. He can never get that back because he is a liar, he's a deceiver, he is the enemy. He is. He's the one who was cast down from from heaven. So the enemy hates you and because of that he comes to kill and steal and destroy. And understand that these things don't come from the Lord, but these things are from the enemy, and I want you to see that God actually loves you and values you. And you say well, pastor, why am?
Speaker 1:And the time clock of this season and dispensation is coming to an end, the time of grace is coming to an end, the time of judgment is coming very soon, where all the accounts will be settled, every wicked thing will be exposed and and then every man and woman, everyone, will stand before the lord and give an account for what they've done. Those that are the lords, those, those that belong to jesus, will give an account for their lives at the judgment seat of christ and those who die without the Lord, without being washed in the precious blood of Jesus. For he said, whoever believes in me would not perish but have everlasting life. Those who perish, those who die without Jesus, will have to face the great white throne judgment, and you don't want to be on that judgment. You want to give your life to the Lord now and that's why we're even coming to you this morning. That's why we are sharing the gospel with you. We want you to know God loves you.
Speaker 1:Sin is sin. Don't make excuses for sin. Sin will take you to lost eternity. But Jesus has made a way. Bible says he is the only way, he's the way, he's the truth. He's the truth, he is the life and he's today and he's willing to wash you clean. You can be clean today. Don't listen to the enemy's lies. Don't listen to the propaganda of the news. We don't even have journalism at most part these days. We have a propaganda machine that's pushing an agenda, causing you to think a certain way. But we got good news for you 2,000 years ago. Jesus paid the price. So you can be free and you can be worth something and you can be worth something. Because he first loved you, he saw you valuable and he paid the ultimate price. Allow me to pray for you.
Speaker 1:We had other verses, but it's okay. You were fearfully and wonderfully made. You were made in God's image. God looked at you and said you're very good, this creation was very good. And what enemy came to steal through sin, sickness, through deception, through rebellion. Jesus restored. If we surrender our life to him, through the blood of Jesus, you can be restored into that place and you can have your sins forgiven and you can be cleansed. Father, in Jesus name, thank you, lord, for everyone watching At this broadcast, even today, that your cleansing, washing, cleansing flood can sweep through them Even now.
Speaker 1:In Jesus name. Thank you, lord, that if they cry out to you, you promise to answer. And, lord, thank you that because of how you made us wonderfully and how you created us wonderfully and how you paid a price through the blood of Jesus so wonderfully, we are worth something. Our life has a purpose and we are loved by you and we can love you back and we can do what you called us to do. But the truth is, you're on the winner's side. But the truth is. You're on the winner's side. The greater one lives on the inside. The greater one lives on the inside.
