Stretching Expands Your Horizons - Grasshopper

I channeled my “Inner Gumby” last night and stretched myself. The experience is hard to put into words but I’ll do my best.

I went to a concert by myself last night. That’s something I’ve never done in my many years on this planet. My son said, “You only go to the market and the gym” as a testament to my “hermit-y” ways. It’s not that I don’t enjoy going out, I do, but I fell into a pattern of keeping the world at bay by staying away while the world was at play.

I’m not agoraphobic, just immersed in a pattern of avoiding what’s on the other side of my door. You can only see what’s outside your front window if you’re like me. Your vision expands and your options increase when you step out and explore.

Like anything else worth doing, it’s worth doing poorly at first. That means that the steps are best taken incrementally, so you don’t overstep and can build on each experience gradually. After a time, your new found outings become welcome and eye-opening routines, ones that reveal horizons heretofore unexplored.

I had a great time last night and look forward to my next adventure. Stretch marks have taken on a whole new meaning for me. They’re evidence that there’s a world of opportunity waiting for me between now and eternity.

All the best,

John
