Statute Of Limitations
The Grasshopper delivered this over the weekend: “The statute of limitations doesn’t run out on love.”
I have this theory that if you were ever truly in love with someone, there’s still a part of you that’s in love with them. That love doesn’t die; at best, it just fades.
Test my theory and think of someone you once loved and notice the feelings that come up. It doesn’t matter if they’re living or passed on, the love is still there, it’s never gone.
Think of love as energy. According to science, energy can’t be destroyed. It can change forms, but it never goes away.
There’s an old expression and an old song: There’s a thin line between love and hate. What that suggests to me is they’re separate expressions of emotion. If you examine the difference, you may come to the same conclusion as me: that hate is a head game, and love lives in the heart.
Hatred is fueled by thoughts; love doesn’t need fuel. It’s ever-present and in abundant supply from the day you’re born until the day you die. And it lives on after you’re gone in the hearts of those you loved and those who loved you.
Hate is a waste of time and energy. When you get out of your head, hate drops dead. When you hold someone in your heart, that love will never depart.
All the best,
John
