In this talk from April 2024, Abbot Jeremy Driscoll, OSB, and Bishop Benedict Aleksiychuk discuss what monasticism can offer the Church and the world today.

Abbot Jeremy is the 12th abbot of Mount Angel Abbey, elected by the community in March of 2016. Abbot Jeremy made his first profession in the community on September 8, 1974, and was ordained a priest in 1981. He holds advanced degrees in theology from the Augustinianum Patristic Institute and the Pontificio Ateneo Sant’Anselmo.

Originally from Ukraine, Bishop Benedict is bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Chicago. He is a former hegumen of Holy Dormition Lavra and holds degrees in medicine, business, and a PhD in theology from Lublin Catholic University. In 2010, Bishop Benedict was appointed auxiliary eparch of Lviv. In 2015, he was appointed eparch of Chicago.
