Stockdale names new city manager
Stockdale has a new city manager. City council members held a special meeting July 22 to determine who will replace Banks Akin as city manager; he submitted his resignation earlier this year. Stephen Mayfield has been selected as the new city manager. Mayfield, who was one of more than 38 applicants for the position, comes to Stockdale from Mathis, where he served as public works utility director. Akin’s last day in the position will be Aug. 1.
