Mustang powerlifters win big at Jourdanton

Nixon-Smiley Mustang powerlifting teams traveled to Jourdanton Jan. 15 for the Jourdanton Invitational meet. Seven teams were in attendance, including Jourdanton, Pleasanton, Floresville, Karnes City, Holy Cross, Cole, and Nixon-Smiley. The Nixon-Smiley boys team finished first, and the girls team finished third. Senior Zulema Rodriguez was awarded lifter of the meet for girls on the light platform (97-148 lbs).
