Russo sentenced to 56 years in prison

A Wilson County man has been sentenced to serve 56 years in prison for aggravated sexual assault of a child. A sentencing hearing was held Feb. 18 in the case of 49-year-old William Russo II of Stockdale, after he failed to comply with the terms of his former sentence of deferred adjudication. During Russo’s original trial in 2024, it was determined to not be in the best interest of the 11-year-old victim to testify.
