The splash pad in Stockdale’s Central Park is closed until further notice. The amenity was closed today, due to some equipment difficulties, according to City Secretary Thania Santos. The city is waiting on replacement parts, she added. It is unknown when the splash pad will reopen. Keeping student athletes’ volleyball skills fresh this summer, the Floresville Volleyball Summer League again hosted teams from Floresville, Falls City, Stockdale, Nixon, Jourdanton, and Karnes City during June. For the 10th consecutive month, the state of Texas has set a record-high level for jobs, while the number of employed Texans and the state’s civilian labor force have each reached new highs for the last five months. Texas’ seasonally adjusted total nonfarm employment increased to 14,195,600 after 41,800 jobs were added over the month in May, reflecting monthly growth in 47 of the last 49 months and annual growth for 38 consecutive months. Water in the city of Poth is back to normal. But that wasn’t the case last Tuesday, when the city issued a “boil water” notice, due to extremely low water pressure. The notice affected all customers served by the city’s water system.
