Question of the Week:
We often hear in faith communities about the importance and even the “need” for forgiveness when someone wrongs us. But sometimes it just doesn’t feel like forgiveness may be warranted or deserved, such as in cases of abuse or when someone commits murder or mass evil. Calling for forgiveness can feel like a way to excuse problematic behavior and center the perpetrator rather than the victim. How do we navigate this as people of faith?
