Lois Goodwin - The Chase
The Local Lens is a public health podcast going inside one community's experience with the drug epidemic. Everyone in the town of Stanton, KY sees this drug issue differently from each other, either because of their personal lives or professional roles. This show aims to showcase those different perspectives by having honest, in-depth interviews.
If there were a textbook example of how someone develops a case of Substance Use Disorder, this is it. On the surface, Lois' story follows a linear path. Her drug use progresses from one substance to the next, increasing dosage and potency along the way. Eventually, her chase took over her life, but she was never satisfied in her pursuit.
Today, she chases something different. She has learned a lot along the way, and she joins our show to answer any questions we had for her. The result is a striking look into the mind of someone in addiction.
